  1. Vantec's Tornado series has some major airflow, but makes a good amount of noise as well. Small resistors are used a lot in PC's to lower the fan voltage from 12v down to 7v or even 5v. This lets you still get plenty of airflow but lower the rpm's and the noise level a bit. Tornado fan: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811999612 7v fan resistor http://www.quietpcus...ble-P102C9.aspx It would require a minor amount of modding to fit the resistor on the fan wires and tie it into the car's electrical system but would do a great job at reducing noise levels if you found the fans too loud.
  2. Oh man. Almost looked planned from how smoothly he recovered. Great driving!
  3. This is a joke right? I'm no Apple fan by any means but they don't cut any corners in designing their products.
  4. Oh shit son! A fellow bass head within a stones throw! first Cape Codder I've found on here!
  5. I live in Sandwich. My truck's got nothing in it right now other than my headunit and a half-installed set of Kicker QS-series components. Closest thing I've got to a system right now XD
  6. Yeah. This makes sense. I figured that's what they did, scale it down to make it easy to read. I'd still prefer if they let you use more than 1024x768 given that I can read small stuff but it makes sense for the bigger market to get something they can use without zooming in on every page. something like a 1200x900 on a screen that size wouldn't pose much of an issue and would let you fit a bit more of the page on the screen. 1024x768 definitely works for them though. Most webpages are made with that as the standard res and it's exactly half of the iPad's width and height so scaling is easymode. LOL I don't own any Apple products though so they probably don't care much about my opinion.
  7. Apple isn't putting that stupid high resolution to work? Seems odd that they wouldn't tweak Safari to make use of the extra real estate. Though I guess they wanted to keep all the text and stuff the same size. Just kinda seems like a waste of such a high-res display, especially given that it's one of the only selling points of the new iPads and they marketed it so heavily.
  8. What's up with Arizona and all the crazy bills they keep proposing lately?
  9. Pretty much. Worst case scenario is you have you bank account or PayPal on the same email. They can recover passwords, change them, get in, and have your money, though they'll likely need more than just a email and password to do so.
  10. Why wouldn't they be? It's their account not yours. Don't you ever read the 45 page long terms of service agreement? You don't think this would have been uprooted by now and a class-action lawsuit would have been filed? It's been 15 years since Microsoft acquired Hotmail. Microsoft has better ways of making money than selling Hotmail usernames and passwords. Also, it does say in their TOS that they "do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties". Do you read the TOS agreements? http://www.microsoft...ht/default.aspx http://privacy.micro...us/default.mspx Also, if your account was hacked multiple times and multiple passwords were used, I'd bet money you had a keylogger of some sort on your machine. They're more common that people anticipate. I've never had an issue with Gmail, though I never had an issue with any others prior to that. All of my passwords are only 8 characters, but a good combo of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters does the trick. And don't just put something simple followed by a "1" or a "1!". That's not any more secure.
  11. And a combo of a BIOS update and a recent Intel firmware update on their 320-series SSD's bumped me up to this
  12. I never put up any pics of this with my 2nd card in! Both cards are unlocked to full 6970 spec and overclocked to 975mhz. Card #1 Card #2 Both installed and hooked up. I've added a few hard drives
  13. How's the Apollo case treating you? I love the look of the front of it. Looks almost like an old school Alienware!
  14. LOL welcome to computers. Now you know why the first thing they tell you to do when you call tech support is to reboot it. Sometimes shit just fixes itself.
  15. Sucks to hear it took out parts of your build. Hopefully you can get it up and running again soon!
  16. There's a possibility it fried the PCIe slot and there's a possibility it reset the BIOS. If you go into the BIOS and look around a bit you should find an option that lets you choose your primary graphics adapter. If that's set to "onboard" or "integrated" and not "PCIe" then it will force your machine to use the onboard graphics and won't support video through your addon graphics card. You should just be able to toggle it to "PCIe" and that should tackle it. If the option is set to "PCIe" already then the slot may be fried or the BIOS may have to be flashed again.
  17. Mothafucka don't got shit on my man shoenice22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMEH3eHn_gs
  18. A little Googling didn't turn up a fix. The general consensus from what I see is that people are just restarting Chrome when it happens, though that's not really a fix. I've never had this issue and I've been using Chrome forever. It seems it may be an issue with other software from what I read real quick. Do you have any other applications open when Chrome has this issue?
  19. Pair of 6950's unlocked to 6970's and overclocked to 975/1450 I'd like to see Meade's machine run through this. He's rocking a pair of 580's. I don't know if I can touch that, even with the overclocks.
  20. Just curious if anyone else tinkers with overclocks at all. I'm not huge into benchmarks but I use a few like Unigine's Heaven and 3DMark from time to time as stress tests for overclocks. Just ran through the latest version of Heaven and got this: I cranked up AA and AF to max and put tessellation on Normal to stress the GPU's a bit more. If you guys have run any benchmarks or want to go see what your machine can do, post up pics here!
