  2. go into the bios and check that it is set to boot from the correct drive. May be trying to boot from CD.
  3. http://www.europe-audio.com/Product.asp?Product_ID=5629 http://www.codrive.com/basstr.htm http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/1201/adire-audio-parthenon-revisiting-the-ultimate-subwoofer hmm... I wonder Anyone else got examples of split motor and similar designs?
  4. turn down volume in windows, and wave volume as well. Helps a lot of the time. 75-80% is a a good number to stay under.
  5. This part of driver tech i'm a little weak on. My two basic questions are what would happen if the pole piece was removed from the structure (not questioning cooling) and what effect do different coil placements have? IE: If the coil was completely out of the gap at rest, completely centered in the gap at rest, or 1/2 entered into the gap at rest? I can pretty much easily assume that if the coil is too far from the gap it will produce very little magnetic force.. but how far is too far?
  6. Try uploading to youtube. Might just be bad internet connection, happens to me too.
  7. Over on Xtremesystems.org (PC and Overclocking Enthusiast website) we're having a supercomputer challenge for WCG (World Computing Grid). If you've heard of Folding@Home or Seti@Home or anything like those, that is the basics of what WCG is. Here's the offical thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/announcement.php?f=144&a=75 If you are unfamiliar with what those programs are, then this is what it is in a nutshell: It is AIDS, cancer, and Muscular Dystrophy research. There are a few other projects thrown in too, but those are the main ones that most of our team focuses on (we're almost the #1 team in the WCG project btw). Anyways, to keep this short, if anyone is interested in donating a week (or staying around for longer) for the challenge they can find all of the information required to join in on it here (takes 5-7 minutes): http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=230613 If you do join, maybe put something like "[sMD]" at the front of your username to denote where you originated from as well, if you can I should also let you know that the program is processor intensive. For most systems it will be perfectly safe to run, but there's always those 5-10% of horribly designed ones.. or that are on their last legs lol Thanks for your time guys, hope to see a couple people kick some resources in If you register on the forums to ask questions i'm also known as "STEvil" there. Registrations are all done manually and you dont always get a notification so if you havent had one for a few days just try logging in and posting

  9. Cut the top off the towers and make a horn port facing forward with a baffle up top to mount the mid to Looks really nice though
  10. a bump.... and a bunch of annoying posts. darnit beanz, you broke my trilogy. edit - nothing wrong with "PA speakers" Beanz.
  11. Done it a few times.. only when on an open empty highway with no traffic in sight though.. :/
  12. blowthrough, or one of those short toppers that you put on top of your box and remove/open your back window to use.. just open the bottom and build it into a box inside your truck box
  13. they already are 4th ordered to the cab.
  14. Logitech uses Tang Band drivers. The 8" in the Z-560's is a pretty capable little driver It is an 8 ohm sub. I have two of them, ran one in my Yukon with a Kicker 750.1 when a bump broke my 15" sub and you'd swear there was a 12 back there. Anyways its mostly in the install.
  15. Yeah thats it. go look on page 1 for the neat stuff. 2nd and 3rd image down. edit - I want to replicate a build like this with some of those 34" audiobahn subs.. or clarions might work too.
  16. If both ports are identical internally, yes. If they are not, no. There's a way to make the Aeroports even more effective 'though i'm too lazy to dig it up right now. If you google for a XXX18 in 20ft^3 enclosure and look around long enough for the build log i'm sure you find it.
  17. Heritage line is good, old Max's were fun.. Opti's look ok. Wouldnt bother witht the PRO's though. 4 Dual's from wally world/target would be more fun
  18. Nah, compression waves will take care of that.
  19. Sundown >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> lots of things >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> alpine...
  20. I think all we need to do is make the tunnel a bit longer and taper the exit, like a horn throat
