  1. With the new system which is the loudest i have had in my truck, a lot of rattling has been rooted out, but much still remains. In my ext cab, the side windows on peakier notes like to slap and it is quite loud, enough to hear over full tilt and really dont know what to do to prevent it. Expanding foam did wonders on the rear side panels along with 80mil and padding. still doing to do a "air guide" so to speak directing the side firing port to the back of the drivers seat and off one of the side windows/side of the truck, and do a trim panel on the passenger side hoping to seal off the lower panel from compression and air movement. any advice from truck users would be great. system: 2 XL 15s, 4krms. peakiest notes are from 27hz-35hz.
  2. i have used window scrapers before, (the ones with razor blades about 4in long) and it worked like a charm ON THE WINDSHIELDS/SIDE WINDOWS, havent tried it on paint.
  3. Your gain isn't 43v, most top out at .2v-8v. I think you are talking about output voltage (AC?) by the speaker terminals which is how you set your gain.
  4. you need to hear and upper 150 with more cone area, like 3 18s, 4 15s, and such. A 150 fart doesnt give the full experience of a true 150 db cherry pop. 150s in the mid 30s is where it is at.
  5. i swear... that amp is 14in long. Please read the OP's post.
  6. seriously, never have to replace the windshield again.
  7. skip01!!! great reviews, kinda want to buy one to see what all the talk or lack of is about.
  8. in reality you can just say it will be louder or quieter. there are SO many factors playing that any judgement is essentially useless. all i can say is that they get loud for an 8, my loud is different from your thought of loud, and probably different from anyone else opinion of loud. i CAN tell you they dont sound like 8's with how much throw they have.
  9. no, and even if something happens to the soft parts, they are a recone away from 100%. but to answer your question, no.
  10. with those three brands? i would find each sub from each company that is rated at 1000rms, and pick one, you can go wrong with any of them.
  11. 33 should be perfect, im running 2 m1 xls on about the same power, 6.5 cubes with 2 6in aeros tuned to 31hz, plays down to about 25hz with authority, but i do loose some upper bass notes.
  12. no, because the thickness of mdf will be different, rather than sharing a wall of the box.
  13. fyi, red isnt clipping in audacity, it just means the wave is either 0db or over. even when you do "show clipping" it really only shows where the wave spikes to over 0db. you can make a clean generated 50hz wave in audacity, and put the amplitude to 1 (amplitude of 1 = 0db in audacity) and it will be solid red. better yet, generate a saw tooth or square wave with the generator and the show clipping on. edit: one way to do it is zoom in REALLY close in audacity until you can see the actually wave forms crests and troughs. do this in the heavy bass lines and check to see if everything is rounded or jagged/squarish.
  14. it is preferred to make 1. title is for example "FS: Wire, HU, amps, etc" with your own spin on it, branding etc. and just go to town posting pics with username and date. good example is this thread. ------> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/145274-lots-of-stuf-for-sale-amps-subs-mids-prices-reduced/
  15. bump edit: I will do trades anything like 8in, 10in or a 12. Stuff lower level like Sundown E series type stuff.
