  1. 14.4v is 14.4 volts as in at what voltage the amp produces 500 rms at 2 ohms. 2ohms is the load/impedance put on the amplifier due to how the subs are wired how they are wired depends on what coil you choose to purchase. if you get the only coil option they have which is dual 4, resulting in 4 or 1 ohm final load, if you wire to 1 ohm you will just need to back down the gain a little to account for the higher amount of power.
  2. No, that is a local file on your computer, we can't view it at all. Upload it to a image hosting site like imageshack or photobucket and copy the link and paste it here.
  3. its on its way to rusty. i was on the phone with him troubleshooting for 20 min. the coil former has a ridge in it. but when he gets it he will figure out what it is 100%
  4. it has no gain knob, that is partially why it is so cheap, but idk, i dont trust it. I only but from people with 99.5 or higher and i still read the comments on the bad purchase ratings.
  5. who ever is getting 5s, you better have some serious power, i can barely get the thing moving on 2 aq1200ds.suspension is STIFF
  6. bump added video in first post. 95% sure it is an air leak around the dustcap.
  7. Definitely not the spider slapping in my case(does it on like 1mm of xmax). I tested a little this morning, it seems to only do it when listening to the radio. Maybe the antenna is slightly loose And it more like a short quiet growl, but it isn't consistent, it does it randomly from every 5-10 seconds(seems like only when playing radio, I have yet to hear it when using my USB).
  8. no, the sound comes from the cone, like i put the my ear to the dustcap and that is when it was loudest(not loud but audible) edit: im off to sleep.

  10. not clicking or popping (99% sure, last time i listed to it was 8hrs ago), amps are grounded to a battery (Hc800). But it might be the RCA issue. Ill try and get a vid of what it sounds like to get a better idea. But that will be in about 10hrs. im just trowing out ideas but hopefully you can get a good 100% diagnosis of what it sounds like or is and can get it fixed yea, ill clamp the outputs separately of each amp, ill pull the deck out and check the RCA connection, maybe its loose or something. I need to check the wires connecting to the sub, etc. Ill go through a wiring check after i get out of class.

  12. i was thinking that, but if there was rub wouldnt it get louder as the sub moved more? when i turn it up and the bass gets loud i cant hear it anymore (obviously).
  13. no, it doesnt sound like static or interference. the hu is a apline cde-125bt and it has 1 set of preouts (2v)
  14. i have noticed at low volume i get a scratching sound with like listening to the radio when people talk, i dont think it is coil rub(not sure though) because when its beatin down i dont hear anything. Its almost like a growl(with the voices but i havent heard it during music) but i know it isnt alt noise or ground noise. Im wondering if it is my amps or because im using splitters... but idk. Both coils read 1.0 flat and it is a dual 1. any insight? i maybe can pick it up on vid tomorrow. I have had the sub for about 12 hours, and has 10min of play time. its a level 5 18. here is the video, skip to 5minutes exactly to see the noise, the first part is a trick i used for the first time to get my sub out. coil looks weird, off to DC it goes
  15. DC Level 5 18 still not broken in, going to get a scendo 3500 hopefully this year/octoberish.
  16. imagine if there was a sticky at the top of the DC forum with the reps for each state/area in it and imagine if this board had pms enabled so you could pm them to get a price quote. Imagine how awesome that would be. you need to do a sticky at the top with rules about these topics, and if people do them they get a little vacation or something.
  17. Me, electrical engineering. will take about 5 years to complete (to do in 4 i would have to take 18-16hrs every semester.)
