  1. Its a 4channel, and I have two right drivers, and two left all at 4ohms. If i use the 4 ohms, one driver to each output. If I go with 2ohms, two drivers to one output, wired in parallell. Brings it down to 2ohms, and I have two free channels for more drivers. And the speakers I'm using are hifonics zxi6.5c THat won't actually change anything. 300 watts/2 speakers is still 150 watts a speaker. and the speakers you said you are using are a component set, are you talking about using the whole set or just the 6.5 woofer? The total power handling for the set is 100 watts, the power handling for each speaker is lower.
  2. i'm curious how you are going to change the impedance load without changing the number of drivers. Also, what type of speakers are you talking about? that always helps.
  3. Man, I must be lucky then. I have never waited to break in a sub and also, never had that problem.
  4. uhm, all he did was ask a question. he didn't insinuate anything.
  5. Yo, setoseyer is me but I am done for the night. I am so bad still, I barely know the maps yet. I will be on throughout the week.
  6. They are not holding you hostage...if anything you are holding them hostage. You want all the same perks AND you don't want to rep their product. They are going out of their way to help you because it brings them money. If you aren't repping what they sell you aren't doing them any good. In reality, neither of you are holding either one hostage. It is a simple and common business plan. You are their advertising, or at least part of it.
  7. High level (sometimes called speaker level) inputs are for amplified signals. RCA (low level) inputs are not amplified. The speaker outputs on the back of a radio are amplified so you need either a converter that converts them to a low level signal or inputs on the amplifier that are designed to accept an amplified signal. Looks like that one also has the high level inputs, so you are still good to go
  8. or he can use a line-out converter since he can't buy a new headunit, like he said. Also, financing doesn't make anything cheaper...
  9. Reving is fun, but you don't get the true sound of an engine until you rev with a load on it. That's when you get to hear it grunt and moan. Yep. I'm just saying that if he is ever in heavy traffic (I'm sure there's plenty in SoCal like up north), the most he'll be able to do is rev if he wants to hear his engine. WOw, i sure did read that wrong. oh well i guess that was my way of agreeing with yoU!

  11. My money is on that OR he is chocking the port inside the box and his tuning is higher than he thinks and playing well below tuning.
  12. Would it be difficult to measure? Reason I am asking is because it looks like the port is too close to the bottom of the box.
  13. Bass Mekanik has some. what are the dimensions of your port (W and H)?
  14. I think he is asking where is the opening of the port in the box. You can see where to port fires into the car, but not where the opening is on the inside of the box.
  15. Na, if his amp has high level inputs he doesn't need one. A quick test to see if polarity (phase) is the problem is simply hook ONE of the INPUTS into the amp up the opposite way it is hooked up now. If it fixes the problem then that IS the problem. The only thing left at that point would be figuring out which one was wrong, and making sure they are both correct. If they are both wrong, the sub will play fine but then the sub will be out of phase with the rest of the system. It won't be terribly noticeable but it will make a difference.
  16. I did the same thing in my car when using a line-out converter (which changes the signal into a low level RCA type signal). The wiring guide I was using was wrong and I wired one side backwards. My sub sounded very quiet most of the time, but every once in a while they would play a loud note. Why is WAY beyond me, I just notice one day when I put the balance to one side that all of the sudden my sub was loud. Pulled the converter out, switched the incorrect side around and all was good.
