  1. SounDigital 16k would work best for your 2 10s.
  2. I like the look of it a lot... I've finished all of my own personal boxes in the past 2 years with either line-x, spray on bed liner(my buddy works for a place that does it), or fleckstone. So once this is all ready to start selling, I'm gonna pick some up to try it out.
  3. I couldn't agree more with this statement... They truly are worth the price and when u know who the right people, they aren't all that expensive either.
  4. As long as you can get it off and get it to re-stick again then it would be just fine.
  5. What's your budget?? What do u drive/how much available space?? What kind of electrical upgrades do u have?? What are you looking for in a setup(SQ, SPL, loud daily, etc)?? All of these need to be answered before we can even begin to help you out.
  6. Well obviously they've been tested plenty but I wouldn't really call them top secret by any means. The pictures of different woofers w/ the technology has been around for prolli around a year or so now and they've been used in competitions. Team XS-SPL or something similar to that has been using a pair of these single World Finals and has done very well with them I believe. I'm 99% sure that they're being run off either one or a pair of Hertz 15ks. Granted that is in a burp car and this will be the first(that I know of) that someone will be using them in a daily driven setting.
  7. I'm guessing because they just wanted to update the technologies and get more defined categories for their woofers. Of course the 2 things I just mentioned will also make them more money by having many woofers all in various price ranges to fit into any system size/price. I have to agree with you though, the older punch/power Hx2 models were great woofers and shouldn't have been phased out.
  8. I just wanna see what the final t/s params are gonna be on these... I'm really excited to see this new technology in a real world application, rather than just in a burp car. Pretty sure Crossfire is gonna be using this technology on their new XS-SPLs also since they're OEM by Scott.
  9. Here's the shop I was talking about - http://www.customedgeaudio.com/ .... They have done a bunch of very big setups in the past that have done some monster numbers too. Gmonk + Lil Jon's Vans have both done a 157+ bassrace with each of their setups. The people there are all pretty cool guys and their work is impeccable, it shows some of it in the pics on their site. Especially Gmonk's setup that he had w/ 24 15s in a 4th order off 6 SAZ-3000Ds. Not only did it do some great numbers + insane hairtricks, but it also was such a clean setup once they finished everything up.
  10. Get a legit shop/builder to do the work and one that has actually done large setups like this before. As long as you have an electrical setup like the one you have listed, I wouldn't be surprised if your standing voltage was around 15-15.5v so I wouldn't bother running a true 16v setup. As far as the HU is concerned I'd look into a high quality Alpine or Pioneer flip out and grab a CD changer to prevent skipping when using CDs. If you're planning on doing competitions, some require using commercially available CDs. So the changer will stop the skipping that is bound to occur when running a setup of this size. Don't go cheap if you want things done correctly the first time. 99.9% of the time it's worth it to buy better quality products and pay the extra $$ for a high quality shop to perform the install. The last time we went over all of this I gave u the name of the shop here in FL that I would recommend over nearly any other one out there. Can't forget about the huge amount of deadener that you're gonna need to help keep your vehicle in one piece.. Even with it you're bound to run into things getting loose and leaking after they start taking some real abuse. One more thing, get ready to spend a shit load of money in the near future if you want this all done correctly.
  11. With the Crunch 3k Pro you'll be fine w/ the single HO alt(like the one listed), good under hood batt (Northstar NSB-40 or similar) and 2 big batts in back(NSB-125, XS 3100, Deka 9a31, etc similar performance batts). As far as HO alts are concerned I'd look into Ohio Generator for all your alternator needs.
  12. 3-4 300a alts will be plenty and depending on the amps you get 7-10 big batts in back... I'd worry less about the stress on the amps and more about the stress on the woofers with you planning on running 3500w+ per woofer. Personally I wouldn't run anymore than 3k per BTL for daily purposes, especially with 6 18s it's gonna be more than enough. Also have you contacted a shop/builder about doing this build for ya??
  13. Oh man can we at least wait for some testing to come back before everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
  14. Just remember that the more power you have, the more electrical you're gonna need to back it up... Running the power that you're looking into, the electrical upgrades aren't exactly gonna come cheap and it's the last thing you wanna skimp on also.
  15. It's sad that Bob doesn't own the van anymore, that thing was an absolute monster in the 2 classes that he ran it in. The craziest thing about him basically having the loudest bassrace vehicle in the world(at the time, before A-Team this past season), was that he drove it to every show also. That big blue van was the furthest thing from a trailer queen that just comes out to put up some huge score. Truthfully it was prolli the loudest(bassrace + burp) legit daily driven vehicle on the planet when he still owned it.
  16. I couldn't agree more with this statement... I'd love for them to be everything they've been hyped up to be and the CA world to have a new technology to play around with some. Of course I thoroughly enjoy playing around with new woofers on the market, so I'm hoping to get my hands on one of these depending on the success.
  17. My amp suggestion is 3 American Bass VFL500.1s... Will be running like 2500w per sub, very high build quality, great customer service, and a good price. I've run AB amps for years now and have never had any issues with them and I'm not exactly easy on my equipment.
  18. x2 on the both of these.. I'm sure that Crutchfield sells them also if you wanna go the online route.
  19. Jake some of the scores you've been putting up are so insane that without your rep and all the pics/vids you take, it would be very difficult to believe these numbers. Like I said in the other thread you made, I'd like to see you get a Rex and see what you can pull with one.
  20. I highly doubt that people think that you're looking for attention by finally starting an official build thread... Just get all your pics almost as like a before type shot, so you can do the compare once it's all done. Btw I thought you were running 6 18s??
  21. AQ + DD are owned by the same family, the father owns AQ and his son owns DD.. So they share a lot of technologies, R&D, and parts. DD is some of the highest quality product and has proven itself in the lanes without question. They've always treated me just fine when I called them up and were very helpful.
  22. The gold case VFL150.1s IMO are some of the best amps ever made... I've own 4 of them and still kept 2 because of how much I loved them. I literally beat the shit out of them and they still kept running like they were BNIB. I've burped them as low as .25ohms and they made some monster #s on 12v, when they were on 16v it was just insane to say the least.
  23. Please show me the plenty of people doing high 150s w/ a single Solo 18, let alone doing 160s... Now you're just talking out of your ass. Also no one has done a legal bassrace beyond like 162 or so... There's only been like 5 guys who have ever done a 159.9 legal score and around that same number that can do a 160+ bassrace in the world.
  24. I hope you're planning on running a huge sealed enclosure for each one of these... I wouldn't exactly call these woofers the best for competitions. Also seeing as you're looking into 5k-10k watts, what kind of electrical setup are you planning on running??
