How much port area is in the prefab one that you posted?? Btw $150 shipped for a prefab is pretty high but that one does look good for a prefab. Depending on where you live there is prolli a builder in your area that can do a pretty basic ported enclosure like the one posted for cheaper than that and of a higher quality. Plus you don't just have to stick with whatever specs the prefab has if you find a local to do it. I understand that you don't have any tools yourself but you really don't know a single person with a jigsaw and a power drill?? Those are pretty much as basic of power tools that exist, hell you can get them on ebay for like $15 each brand new. They won't be the best quality but I still have a 24v power drill set I got for $25 over 3 years ago on ebay. The thing is a tank, I've used it on a weekly basis and beaten the hell out of it basically for the past 3 years. I mean it seems pretty aparent that you're just gonna go with the prefab one regardless of what is said here.

Possibly one of the more incorrect statements I've heard. Seems as though you've never seen/heard a properly designed and build bandpass before to drop a statement like that. Well designed and built bandpass enclosures have pretty much no equal for SPL, daily or SQ(which ever it is built to perform in) if done correctly. Prefab bandpass enclosures on the other hand for the most part are absolute shit. This is due to these companies mass producing them, they're using "general" subwoofer specs and usually aren't the highest quality build material. To the OP, didn't mean to get off topic just don't like seeing incorrect info being thrown around... If you need any help just ask.

It's right on the FI website btw- Sub displacement(18" BTL) = .26ft3... Kinetik makes very good batts but tests have proven that XS does perform better with direct drop in testing. I'd also look into Northstar(which is what I run now) and I was very impressed with the differences after I switched from kinetik. Btw what vehicle is the 18 going into?? I'm hoping the Tahoe because in the Altima it's going to be very very tight if that's the route you're going. If so I'd suggest just sticking with a 15 in there or running an 18 that can still perform well in smaller boxes like a Sundown Nightshade.

Then just run sub up/port back in that setup and it should work out pretty good for ya. Btw it's not really acting like a port, that space is just the only gap you have available to any sort of air flow.

I've never run DC alts so I can't comment on them either way but I have heard only good things about them. I've been running Ohio Gen for a few years now with great success and to my knowledge haven't heard a negative thing about them at all. Btw I'd still suggest replacing the rear batt with something alot bigger, like the one i mentioned. I'd also suggest checking what the current floating voltage is on those batts now, since you said they've been exposed to such poor voltage levels. What woofer are you looking for the displacement on??

Yea that sounds pretty un-good lol, car is prolli revving to bring up the voltage because its electrical can't work properly that low. Not only is that bad for you car, batts, alt, but also it's what kills amps very often. Pick up an HO alt, big 3 upgrade, toss one of those red tops under hood and pick up something like an XS 3100 or similar batt for in back. Also remember to have good clean grounds and big enough wiring to handle the amperage that the t2000 is pulling.

How much power?? I have a ton of experience with Rs, mostly 12s + 15s. The 12s off around 1500w to each pair was the loudest(daily tuning) in 2.3ft3 per woofer @ 35hz w/ 30in^2 of port per sub. We tested it in a bunch of box setups from anywhere from 1.5ft3-2.5ft3 and this was the best we found.

I'm guessing you can't fit sub(height wise at least) and port facing the rear?? If you can and still have enough room for proper airflow around the box, then I'd suggest running it that way. Besides sealing the trunk off and firing the subs/ports in the cabin(either without back seats in or folded down) it's the most successful way of installing in trunk from my experience. But only if you also have the additional room to allow air to flow around the enclosure, if not then you'll just be choking it off.

In any setup that will be heavy weight wise I'll always run birch. In smaller setups then it's worth saving the money IMO and just using MDF works just as well. Both will work just fine and you really won't notice a difference once installed sound wise IMO at least. The thing that separates the two is the big weight difference, which when you're using multiple sheets, batts, amps, woofers can help out and ease the install somewhat.

What vehicle is this going in?? Also box itself looks pretty good, the one using expo's calculator. Btw in your first post you said you want a box for SPL, I think you just meant a loud daily setup. SPL would be "generally" be tuned much higher and w/ little power u have be much bigger to pick up sum efficiency.

No not just any enclosure will work. I would never suggest getting a make your own box kit by any means. I'd suggest just doing a little research, getting a design made for you and then trying to build one yourself. You need very basic tools to build one yourself and just take your time doing so and you'll be proud of your finished product. What subs did u buy btw??

AB 500.1 is a beast... I've had a ton of experience with AB amps over the years and have yet to repair a single one. The 500.1 I've run @ .5 ohm daily and .25 ohm burps on different setups, with zero problems.

That will work fine but I agree with Decaf that the tuning is a bit high... I'd suggest anywhere from 32-35hz would prolli work out a little better for ya.

First of all your gain is set too high and if you can't get your hands on an o-scope, then at least set the gains with a DMM properly. What that popping sound might be is tinsel slap depending on what BTLs you guys each have. They were pretty notorious awhile back for it but Scott has since fixed the issue.

Its also as basic as it gets when you're a child. You try to kick the ball in the next and you get a point for each time you do so. Even if you're living in a 3rd world type country, soccer is very easy to understand and can realistically be played with next to no money or if you're creative none at all.

If we didn't have the interest then news outlets wouldn't care about them either. People have committed heinous acts against each other since the start of time and that's the way it will always be. These select people have psychological traits that cause them to not see human life for how the rest of us see it. Whether it be a sexual fantasy, revenge on a group of people, vendetta against society or any number of things that drive these people to kill/rape/torture it usually lies deep in a psychological disorder of some sort. Regardless if some people believe in psychology or not, many of these killers/rapists are driven by some sort of chemical imbalance brought upon by a number of things. /rant

CRX style will have plenty of musical ability, idk why you'd think otherwise... But i'd suggest something like 4ft3 @ 34hz w/ 60in^2 of port, subs up and port facing towards the rear. Btw a loud daily enclosure usually doesn't go hand in hand with tuned very low(like 28-32hz). For an overall daily enclosure which will cover the whole range of notes I'd suggest tuning from 33-37hz.

This is all very true but you gotta get ALOT of practice spraying or it will come out terrible. Also gotta make sure u have the correct pressure, tips and proper paint mixture. Another thing is good luck trying to paint a car outside of a booth(say in a driveway or garage) and it will make an absolute mess. Plus if u so happen to run into any sort of outdoor elements(if u don't have a garage or makeshift spray booth) like wind while spraying or sudden rain, you'll have to start from stage 1 all over. Spraying at home can be done but you gotta be willing to invest a lil bit of $$ and a good amount of time to learn how to properly spray. There are a bunch of places online that sell cheap home spray booths that are similar to a large tent, which you can pull into and get away from dirt, the elements, etc. Another thing to remember is to get a proper ventilator so you're not inhaling the paint fumes.

Get it sprayed down with bedliner But really it's not worth it to get that old of a car repainted, unless it has some sort of a sentimental value to ya. The cost of a decent quality paint job will prolli cost more than the car is worth, let alone a nice paint job. If you really want it to be repainted then do as much of the prep work as you can to save yourself money, then just bring it in for a $200 Maaco special. Just don't expect it to be of any quality, prolli could equal it with a couple cans of primer and black spray paint yourself. I've seen someone get their car painted yellow from Maaco before and their tires ended up being the same color of the body also lol. Literally looked as if someone just dumped a bucket of paint all over it from the horrible drip marks everywhere.
