  1. Thanks much........yep, those are the RF RCA's. There is a shop out here that carries them so I can get ahold of them when I need them. Find out a price for me man and PM me. Also, have you thought about trying more port area? You have the room to do so. Let me know what lengths you need and I will get you some prices by the weekened. As far as port goes, Im at 194 inches right now. I thought about running a lil over 200 in a kerfed port setting but I dont know how much it will help. I more than likley will be trying it in the future. I need the longest they have as I drive a van, and then I will be moving my GF's amps into her trunk so also needs length. The new box for my MT 18"s will be 12 cubes with 240^2 port. I've been using 20-22^2 per cube and have had fantastic results! Check the video I just posted in the video section as evidence.

  3. SICK Amps!! Where did you find those RF RCA's I see? I have one pair I found in my box of wires one day and would like more.
  4. Back Story: I have had MANY different radio's in my vehicles, from Alpine to Kenwood, to Pioneers. Even had other Premiers. All have sounded about the same. I always had the Second to highest unit the companies offered, except with Kenwood as their prices are very good. And always wanted one of the high end units like the Alpine 9887, Eclipse MKII, or Pioneer 800/880PRS. But never had the money to get them. The 880 was produced from 2006-2007 I believe with the 800 being produced from 2008-2010. I finally got my chance when a local friend of mine, dvalue on here, wanted to sell his 800PRS for a Alpine 9887. Gave me a really good price so I scooped it up. Review of the 800PRS in my van: When I first got the head unit I instantly noticed the all copper chassis and brushed black aluminum face plate. All the plugs were very secure and very good quality wire. I took it home and looked over the whole thing noticing it was very different then any other Pioneer I had owned in looks and quality of parts. Also that came with it was the iPod Adapter box/cable, which felt like a normal Pioneer add on accessory. Installation was pretty painless, hardest part was finding a home for the iPod control box and making sure all the little switches on the top of the radio were set correctly to run "Net Work" mode which is 3-way active. The operating system in the radio was about as standard Pioneer as you can get with just a few more features added. When I took out the Kenwood X794 and db Drive E7EQ7 that was in my dash I was doing a 150.4db and had almost no bass reproduction below 40Hz. Once the 800 was installed it went to a 151.4 and I could then reproduce bass down to 28Hz. Only thing I can think of that would cause this is the cleaner higher voltage coming from the 800. The Sound Quality difference between the Kenwood and EQ to the 800PRS was night and day. I am running 6 RD Alpha components active. With the Kenwood and EQ, all cross overs were on the amps. Which I won't get into to much as it is kind of embarrassing. Once I had it all set up and ready to go I set the amps crossovers to "full" and turned on the Pioneer. The sound gained a lot of warmth to it, and became much clearer even with ZERO tuning and just turning it on. After setting up the cross over points on the radio and running the Auto T/A, which got it VERY close to where I wanted it, I adjusted the 16 band L/R EQ and fell in love. The sound is VERY well staged, bearing in mind the fact I have 3 mids/3 tweeters per door and everything sounds as it should with little peakiness I can discern in the frequency range. Review of the 880PRS in my Girl Friend's Mustang: We got her radio on an AMAZING deal from Bruce Johnroe, WrenchGuy off MWCS.net. Took a few days to ship which didn't matter to her or me as I know he works crazy hours. When we got it it had all the parts, even the microphone which everyone looses. The differences between the 800 and 880 that I have noticed are as follows; All copper chassis on the 800, with standard chassis on the 880, the 800 has a black finish on the face plate while the 880 has a silver finish, and finally the 880's speaker wires are thicker then the 800's indicating that Pioneer figured out that you had in mind you will use mids/highs amps with these units instead of the on board amplifier. The user interfaces are EXACTLY the same, only differences are caused by one being in "Net Work" mode and the other in "Standard" mode. The buttons on the Faceplate are the exact same, as well are the little switches on the side for "Net Work" and "Standard". In her car she has the Mach 460 Sound System that comes stock with the car, it has sounded good up until now off a Kenwood X794 like the one I had. I took that one out and replaced it with the 880PRS in "normal" mode for now until she gets her 4-channel and new component set. I CANNOT express enough how much I LOVE the sound the 800/880 produce, it is simply astounding. The radio sends the signal from the speaker wires to the stock amps out to the stock components. The staging I was able to achieve was not that spectacular as she still has the rear speakers playing and the head unit only changes the front/rear and side/side not the individual tweeters/mids as it does in "Net Work" mode. But even still, it is decently staged with again a much warmer sound coming out the speakers. In conclusion I must say that these may be some of the most well built Pioneer Radio's of all time, and defiantly some of the best sounding. I cannot foresee my self NOT running a PRS for a long time. Maybe even getting their newest the "99PRS".
  5. Simple as the title states, what's the best way into the industry? I have been wracking my brain for over a year now, and it's the only career I want.
  6. I'm sure you have a friend who could do what you want.
  7. What brand alternator? Ditch the cap.
  8. That was going to be the one I recommended. I have one of the large rolling chargers from my GF's dad though.
  9. All amps suck power. Each will suck more power based on ohm load and clip level.
  10. Cliffs:: I got $400 in tickets. They got dismissed for showing up in court and the judge retiring. Then got one of the same tickets leaving the court house. lol
  11. To start the story I will by saying at no point did I think I did not deserve the tickets. On my van I have, what may be some of the darkest tint you can have and still be able to drive. 5% over factory 20% on rear five windows, 5% on front two, and 35% on whole windshield with a 10" 5% strip over it. While I have had this my inspection sticker has since expired. But would cost $200ish to get brought up to date due to having to have the front tint removed then replaced, so I have not done it yet. I was driving to a local audio shop I frequent with my GF and friend in the van with me, we were going through a small antique shopping center. Stores on both sides, speed limit 25. We had both front windows down as it was nice outside. As we are making out was though I see two cops towards the end of the area standing there checking inspection stickers, at that point I KNEW I was getting at least that ticket. As I get closer of course he stops me. First thing out his mouth was "Man is your whole windshield tinted I couldn't see anything but black coming at me" I was honest and admitted to it, he then told me to roll up my window so he could meter it. It read .05% which I expected it to. So he tells me I am getting a ticket for tint and inspection sticker. But as he says that he looks over at my GF and see's she isn't buckled, which I tell everyone to do in my van, so she is informed she will be getting a ticket as well. As we are waiting we are thinking about the price of the tickets not expecting them to be to bad. So we get the tickets, I thank the officer for hit years of service and risking his life for us as I always do and we leave. Well, my GF calls the Court House to find out the cost of the tickets. Mine were $187.75 EACH, so $371.50 total, hers was only $25. At the time I was not working much as the tree business slows down alot in Fall and Winter. So we decide the best course of action is to go to the court date and ask for an extension on out fines. So that's what we do. We arrive at the court house and take out seats in front the Judge. The DA then comes out and says "I have a surprise for everyone here as it's the Judges last day as a traffic court judge." I'm like that's cool. So people start going up to the stand, I can't really hear as I am all the way in the back. All I hear 5 times in a row is "Seat belt ticket do you have $25 today to pay it?" I was like WTF no way they write that many so I listen real close, and what they are doing is amending ALL moving violations to seat belts tickets thus dropping the fine to $25 as long as they plead guilty to it. Then if people didn't have the $25 someone in the crowd offered to pay it for them, which in turn, their ticket regardless of what it was, got dismissed for helping others. I was like that's cool I guess. Then they got to a non-moving violation which is what my tickets were, and they just dismissed them all together. At this point my GF and I are getting very excited thinking they may dismiss our tickets. And sure enough, on my turn I went up to the stand and they asked if I was guilty or not guilty, I said guilty and they dismissed my tickets just like that. Then my GF went up with her seat belt ticket which also got dismissed. At this point we are flying high, happy as hell. So we leave the court house to head home, again, it's a nice day windows are down. She has to make a phone call so the windows go up. Not as soon as I get them all the way up I pass a cop sitting on side the road. I'm like NO FUCKING WAY!!! So he pulls me over, tells me my tint is to dark and inspection sticker is out of date. I tell him I know I just left the parish court house for it. He asks why my tint is so dark, so I show him the back of the van. He gets that wow face and tells me he will just write me for the inspection sticker. Which only turned out to $75 in that town. So in the end I saved over $300 thanks to the Judicial system. lol P.S. here's the van..
  12. Not thread Jacking or anything but when I first read the title I was like WTF?! Because I use Pioneer Headunits and my name is Andrew Jones. haha
  13. I am looking for either an 880/800PRS, Eclipse 7200, or Alpine 9887 for my girlfriend. Please. PM me with any offers you have. Thank you.
  14. A normal airbag system is enough to support 10,000+ lbs on top of the vehicle weight. You should get a tank/compressor fireguards. You never know when you might spring a slight leak.
  15. That should have been mentioned in the first post. And who turbo's a street Stang? lol
  16. I have a quick question. Why do you have 60-62lb injectors on your car? They are rated for for 820hp at around 85% duty cycle; a 30lb injector can handle around 408hp. Well ok then you say you have "Turbonetics twin ball bearing liquid cooled Hybrid Turbo, the 60-1 T3/T4 Hybrid" A 60-1 means 60 series turbo; its the cheapest turbo and it has nothing to do with the t series turbos. The hybrid is a t3 turbine with a t4 compression section. BOTH types of turbos make around 200-700hp! I work in a damn shop and do turbos and performance upgrades for a living man and all the junk you talk is bullshit. Take your lies to a ricer forum they will believe you there! An boy post some damn pics! What a fucking douchebag.. When it's all done, I'll post the pics in your girlfriends ass... How's that? Don't be mad because he called you out. None of your post makes sense to me either.
  17. Wow....... This is almost unreadable. What a hipo alternator? Do you mean "Optima" battery? And if your going to a car audio school you should know capacitors are only useful in certain applications, yours not being one of them.
  18. I'm sitting at home playing Halo Reach with my brother, GF, and friend. So not much.
  19. I know they're very different, i'm trying to decide if i want to use this battery to run when the car is off, that is, an isolated battery, or if i might just go ahead and use it for more power. and the autozone battery is the recommended replacement, i will use a Y adapter to attach it to the vent hose along with the stock battery. Do not do this. Get a fully sealed battery so there is no chance of it spilling or leaking.
  20. iirc about 3.5 inches That is to close. The enclosure tuning would no longer have any effect on the sound of the system. I don't think you have enough room for 2 18"s, I think 3 15"s might work.
