  1. "Sounds fine" works for me for now. lol I'll keep seeing what everyone has to say for the time being. My build won't take place for a bit until I get my buddies car taken care of. I'll be sure to get at you in a week or so to see what you're finding. Thanks man.
  2. Oh haha sorry if I wasn't too clear man. A pair of 12" XL's. I am selling the 15" XL to a local friend and helping him with the install. After four boxes, I figured out that my 15" XL liked 3 cubes while running off of my Crescendo 3kwp. Now, I am moving on to a pair of 12" XL's. I was wondering what type of internal volume I should look into. 1.5 ft^3 per subwoofer. This creating 3.0 ft^3 of internal airspace after all bracing and displacement are taken into effect. 3.0 ft^3 is my general and "generic" guess based on similar setups and results. I was asking what others may have thought. Also, regarding port area, I was wondering if anyone happened to have a "sweet spot" for these drivers, especially under this power, as opposed to sticking with the general 12-16 in^2 per ft^3 saying.
  3. It's time to step up from my 15" XL and Crescendo in the Alero. I will be ordering my new amp tomorrow night. I will just say that I will be running 5,000 watts rms total. From what I have read, and have developed my "generic" numbers from, is that I will want to get about 1.5 ft^3 per driver. Now, running 5k (2.5k per sub)would this 1.5 figure be low enough to maintain control with a 32Hz tuning? Also, if there are any suggestions on a good figure for port area from experience, that would be helpful as well! Recommended ft^3: Recommended Port Area: The box will be full of resin, all-thread, and 45's. I want to try to cut down on my losses due to rise and make this thing solid. This will be my first setup running a driver smaller than 15". My current XL is sitting in around 3.1 ft^3 at 32Hz. I probably could have yielded better results settling for 3.0ft^3, but I am where I am. At this size, she handles the Crescendo 3k with ease. As far as 12"s, I am seeking some professional help from the best community I can find online. Thanks ahead for the help guys!
  4. I'm running mine in 3 cubes now at 32Hz. She loves 30-45Hz. When I was in 3.5 cubes I tended to unload a bit easier at 30Hz still. This is running on my Crescendo 3k on a rated 3.3k. From reading on various forums it seems a lot of the 15XL crowd seems to have the most luck at 3 cubes as well when running a ballpark 3k and above.
  5. With 3400 watts you are looking at extra batteries or an alt... or both. Those may be your trunk dimensions... But remember, you have to GET THE BOX in there first! The opening will limit what you can fit. Unless you want to cut steel and slide it in from the cabin...
  6. Do you have a "fn" or function button? The print screen button also has another command, try holding "fn" and print screen.
  7. ctrl + print screen paste into paint and save. Then upload to photobucket.
  8. There's no chance this sub is a quad 4 is there? I can't find anything on the model name...
  9. Exactly the same as the picture man. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking?
  10. Looks good. The port looks a bit on the smaller side. How does it sound? Box tuning? Specs?
  11. As the title states. I have gotten new price quotes from Mechman, and new price won't fit my budget for a while. I was wondering if anyone had something used or for a bit less. I understand that you get what you pay for, so that is why I would be looking used. This isn't a common alt. to see go up for sale. Thanks ahead guys.
  12. If you are using something 6" or smaller, might as well buy the Precision Port in my opinion. Unless you are good at it, I find it worth the extra bucks for one made "flawless." If you want to use an 8" or 10" or etc, you gotta make your own out of pvc. If you make your own out of pvc to look exactly like the precision's, they will sound the same.
  13. Don't lie. You know you're a chubby chaser. Nah, read it online. The chubby one's do seem to like me though? Have yet to go down that road though.
  14. Looks like you have a "port-blocker" thing in there. What are the different tunings? Looks good man.
  15. Fat girls are the best, because when they fuck, they fuck like they will never fuck again. So I hear...
  16. No harm in "underpowering" a driver. It will kind of giggle on 2500 watts. The XL is more fit for that power. But if you plan 4k+, grab the Level 5.
  17. A DC Level 5 should do you well for that price ballpark, and will enjoy nibbling on 3k as well.
  18. Where ya located at? If you were close i'd be willing to help you out.

  20. This. The same thing as running an AP1500 @ .5-ohms. I didn't know that you needed one-ohm, but it makes a bit more sense. It also slipped my mind that the AP3000 made its power @ 2-ohms...
