Your tactics are confusing me. lol You mean, you would not trust a DC Audio Level 4xl on 4,000 watts rms, Correct?

Okay thanks guys. And I did not take offense to anything so it's all good. lol I figured after box rise and etc i'd be a good deal under 4k. But again, I was just using it as a reference number. I was hoping my sub would be able to do it, as long as I was nice with the gains. I dmm tune everything since it's the best I have access to, and i'm one of the last guys you'll see throwing a few hundred dollars out the window due to ignorance. This is why I was wondering about some box help and questions. I've read in a few places of the xl's taking some serious power, and it'd be nice to get a little better idea of what would be good to plan my next box build around. Just a good general idea because I've been flipping couch cushions all day and can't find any Benjamin's laying around so I want to do it as close to right the first time as possible.

Okay on my gold thing that will put out a bit more than the rated power for the sub... I was using 4k as a reference number according to Crescendo ratings. If I build it for 4k, it will more than likely be good off of 3xxx I would have to think.

Would I be better off running about 3 cubes? And in 3 cubes would I still be able to get the lows if I tuner around 30-32? Or is that tuning bad off of that much power?

So I have recently picked up a Crescendo 3k to run my 15" Level 4xl off of. Originally I had a 2-ohm dvc and was running it at 3k for a while, but off of one effed up tinsel lead from when I bought the sub. (one side blown so theoretically 1.5k on one coil) I have recently had a recone sent to me, being a d1. Here's the question: I had originally ran this speaker off of 1.8k on a Brutus, and put a lot of effort into my new box. The specs are 3.8cubes after all displacement tuned to 34hz. Sounded beautiful off of 1.8, and pretty good off of 3. If I want to run at 4k wired down to .5, what box specs would you suggest? Whether it be from personal experience or "reputable" word of mouth? Please try not to spray too many "no no no you clips it, you no run 4k to sub. You no has electrics." I understand the concepts behind subwoofer loading and unloading. And from my understanding, my enclosure is obviously too big for this setup now and my speaker would more than likely be unloading way too much with the lack of pressure. Current box: 16.5 height, 37 width, 20 depth. 3.8ft^3 @ 34hz. Thanks ahead guys.

You should honestly be fine. Right after I bought it the stitching on one sides leads snapped and the leads slapped off of the cone til they broke. I've been soldering them for a while. I have a recone coming in next week. So a nice little fyi, this video is one coil @ 2-ohms off of about 1400rms. Oh boy I can't wait to get this recone in! lol

Good start. My vote goes to a couple 18" DC Audio Level 5's. You'll save some moeny as opposed to going with the SMD's, which will be good to invest into some proper power.

Irony? lol But really, these guys got you covered. After I proved to my parents that this is what I love, and that I actually have learned A LOT dealing with electronics, they let it slide. I'm currently attending Penn State for electrical engineering so a lot of these things are interrelated and it works out.

If you are upgrading later, (stock electrical I assume, and get a bigger amp) then the level 4xl is the only logical answer I see here.

Lol there should be a bolt SOMEWHERE on your alt. And depending on how much power you are running, one run of 1/0 to the back should be fine. What all equipment are you using? That info could help a bit.

My thoughts EXACTLY. Make up some "can't drive" excuse and pawn them off to some friends for cash. Buy two **nice** 12"s and get louder off of them than you would with the 4 cvrs fighting for air. Don't make a seat/box/disaster. My $0.02.

How much are you paying for the 2006? In most cases you can get the 2010d for about $20.00 more. I've ran the Bxi-608, Bxi-1610d, and the Bxi2010d. Not one problem. hard to beat the power you get for the money. If you run a 2010d and keep your voltage up you have nothing to worry about.

A lot of distro block don't have a fuseholder such as that one so that is what threw him off. But a 200 should get the job done just fine. As for batteries, XS Power has amazing products, but in your budget, not so much. Search for names such as Kinetik, Shuriken, Deka, a Yellowtop, or even just google search. Check the classified sections on various audio forums as well. A lot of times you can scrape up some good deals! Some classifieds to check out: Here obviously, caraudioclassifieds.org, caraudio.com, realmofexcursion.com, a lot of times eBay gets the job done as well. Good Luck!
