well you need to decide ohms first cuz 4 ohm= 350watts 2 ohm= 650watts 1 ohm= 1000watts minimum remember that fosgate amp birth sheets always read more than advertised watts. as for the subs i guess your budget will be primary factor. better subs also depend on what ur doin with them. are you doin any comps, tryin to impress "steve" or just want subs that hit. like i sed earlier my boats gettin ps3 . my truck by july will have audioque. dc , fi ,aa all have kick ass equipment. hell there's even ton of guys that swear by kicker :01nocomment8so:

as you can see from my sig. below thats the same amp/sub combo i gonna have in my boat(ordered just last nite). after months of looking thats what i figured out. gonna run it at 2 ohms at 650 watts. my daughters honda has two 10s @ 150 watts and my sons vw has one 12 @ 200 watts both of which rock in the car and you can hear coming . so two 12@650 should be just fine. you could run that amp @ 1 ohm which i think comes out right around a 1000 watts. im running 2 gauge wire to power it but i believe the input size is 4 gauge so you should also be fine there.not sure if big three is ness. but cant hurt. now i will throw this out there. for my truck im lookin at audioque. sdc2.5 12s and aq1200. 870watts @ 2 ohm. other people will say dc and fi so there are other choices. hope this helps

finally, after months of waiting, i ordered my system tonight. my boat had an ok sony deck w/ ipod plug but no transfer of info to the screen so needed a new deck. now i wont have to pull ipod out of waterproof holder to change/select songs. it also had two 12" woofers(pioneer/sony)powered by a jvc 200 watt amp. believe it or not it did hit good,but definitely wanted better.it had two sets of 6x9(alpine)& one set of 6.5 alpines ran off a pyramid amp.once again they were fine as you could hear music at 65+mph with a through hole exhaust (which is pretty loud) but wanted better. we used the boat almost every day last summer. it is the stereo for our group out on the beach or when we have the houseboat out. i cant wait for this summer cuz everyone always sed how good my boat sounded and now with real equipment it should be tits. everything i ordered is in my signature.it should be here around the 20th. im gonna try to do a build log(need help fr daughter cuz im computer illiterate) because until m. hughes did his boat i hadn't seen any on here. just had to share,one more system on the way :tease: :drunk: :

not sure about feb 1st but flagstaff az is supposed to get dumped on. the fed ex guys were sayin the weather dudes predicted up to 6 feet with this system, thats hitttin cali today. you also have the continental divide before gallup n.m. 2 b worried about. might be better to go dallas to las cruces to phx to riverside. weather.com does real good with their predictions for this area(im 1.5 hr north of flagstaff).

not to talk shit but that jet cart didnt seem like it was going to fast. id take it on with my dwarf car. the r-1 powered golf cart would get me though as dwarfcar is 1000 lbs . and of course anything with a streetbike engine is awesome too my dwarf car is made for racing on dirt ovals. its powered by a zx-11 right now as i grenaded my zx-12

i was thinkin like chewy...t1000 @ 2 ohm is 650 watts going to 2 12's . i only had 200 watts before and was fine. i like ur thoughts on highs/mids placement. im gonna try to angle the 6x9s up and out of the boat rather than flat mounting them like they come stock. most definitely custom boxes and mounts. what i meant by fiberglass is a box was a general thought about the boat being a box itself . as far as volume , my boat does 60+ and you could hear the music just fine. parked it needed a little more on the tweets/mids but thats me being picky. and since MR.Hughes aka spl2k chimed in ill let him take over as hes a god in this area. you should take a minute(or more) and look at his web site. jl audio web site also has a build log area with some pics/ideas.

i have a 20 foot mirage with sm. block 350 through hull exhaust so its pretty loud exhaust wise. anyways the old system was a simple sony wit a ipod jack , 3 pairs of alpine 6x9s, 2 pioneer 12's, a pyramid pbx450px 500watt, a jvc ksax4302 200 watt. all junk i know , so pyramid ran the 6x9's and the jvc ran the 12's. i received so many compliments that it made me get on the computer to find real equipment , for next summer thats when i found steve . all summer my boat was the beach stereo . in my sig is what im changing to. the marine selection kinda sucks. im gonna put my amps either up under the dash area or build a fiberglass box to protect them fr. h2o . also the woofers are under the dash area so they dont ever see h2o either. polks are h2o proof. infinitys will be on the tower . one thing to keep in mind is the fiberglass of the boat acts like a box itself. good luck wit your build. mine starts jan. after we return fr mexico for christmas.

during the summer thats all i see....is sunlight. my seasonal business is taking care of boats ( mainly houseboats). all the guitars are because of ps2,ps3,xbox and the fact that i have 4 kids. also that there hooked to my house system so its like a concert. anyways all the kids dig it. im 40 by the way. true bassheads never die they just continue to piss people off.

the local "toys for tots" was having a raffle saturday. so bought 2 tickets . its 1 of 500 coke ordered. crazy that it found me and my house. the rest of the collection the other badass. most of you are to young to remember a group name "kiss" not to bad a start to Christmas.
