I wouldnt worry about the 12.4, by chance do you know how long it has been sitting? I've had my Stinger sp1500d's out for 2 months and one reads 12.89 and the other 12.86, im sure once you hook it up it will get a charge and go up a couple tenths.

your best bet is to talk to someone who sells batterys, like the guys at xs tell them what you have now and what u plan on going to later and they will be able to tell you what you need and why.
