This is an entire new design of battery. There is a huge market for high capacity secondary/supplemental power batteries and this is the answer. Great for Marine and the car audio customers that need to add capacity for a lower price. More info the closer to SEMA we get.

Yes, that is what the step down modules are for. Step down the voltage from your 16V alt, so it can safely charge and power your 12V battery and systems.

Im actually considering running a couple kinetic 16vs in my XS 16v bank...that way you have the 12v posts for highs and car...not sure how well that would work, but ive seen people mix 12v batteries many times with no problems. This is just advice from personal experience....... do not do that. Take it or leave it, but that is my advice to you. in this did you mean don't use step downs to charge a 12 volt battery up front or not to mix the 16 volt batteries Do not mix the batteries. The main purpose of the step downs is to allow you to run and charge 12V system.

D1400 is good for 1500watts.

Could be the VCM, could be a lose connection, or could be something else. No way to tell without checking it with a volt meter.

35 and 51R are the same sizes, so the D5100r would be the replacement for yours.

Had guys run the 3400 in those before. Just have to extend your cables when you do the Big 3. 3400 will of course have more reserve capacity than the 1200.

I may be understanding you incorrectly and if I am just overlook my suggestions. If you are going to run two separate voltage systems. Then run 1 12V system and 1 16V system. No real need to run separate systems with the 14V and if you do then you might as well jump up to the 16v level.

Unless it's for competitions, in that case your required to have a battery in the stock location. Good point. If you are going to be competing make sure and check the rules first.
