  1. Working on it. It is a slow process. Im tired of half ass rushing though things just to get it running. I am taking my time and doing everything right this time.
  2. Got the batteries in and installed. Just have to do some finish work tonight and the battery and amp rack part of the build will be done.
  3. Im a smart ass and i wont do this again . With that budget you could probably get s decent setup at best buy.
  4. 5 3100s would have been a better and cheaper option but its too late now the batteries are ordered.
  5. I dont know exactly what these numbers mean but Nathan just told me that the reserve capacity of the 3400 is 135 and the 3100 is 242. So I am looking at have 1080 with the 3400s vs your suggestion of 968 with 4 3100
  6. PM DWRIGHT27 he has 4 LVL 4 15s he is selling.
  7. Haha dont go doin that im tryin to get this sucker runnin tomorrow.
  8. You shouldnt need to run any wire from the alt to the rear batteries. With you current setup I would go with the following configuration. 1) Big 3 2) 1 run of 1/0 power and ground from alt to front battery. Having 2 runs is pointless since 1 run can handle all of the power that your 220 amp alt can put out. 3) 1 run each of + and - from front battery to back batteries. You can do 2 runs of each if you want but 1 each of +and- should be plenty. 4) Wire the rear batteries together to complete the circle. After you do this if you still have voltage drop then I would look into that 3rd battery being bad, but so far is sounds like you have alot of unnecessary wiring. Your 220 amp alt should be able to keep up with just the 3 batteries with no issue. Let us know how it turns out.
  9. Damn 170s from 2 18s and 10k!!! What are you putting in these batteries?
  10. Check out this link. Jacob did some clamp tests of his own. Looks like the 1500 did 1900w at 12.8v at 1.3ish ohms http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/50753-sundown-amp-clamp-tests/
  11. I sealed box doesnt really have a specific tuning. I would say set the subsonic at 25hz and the LPF no higher than 80hz
  12. Ive got 2 sets of brand new never seen power AA Havoc tweeters. They are rated for 75 RMS each. Asking $100 per set shipped.
  13. Reason 1- 4 3100s would give me 20-25000 watts of power support where 8 3400s gives me 32000 watts of power support Reason 2- 6 3100s = 8 3400s Retail cost for 1 3100 is $350....cost for 1 3400 is $240-------6 3100s=$2100 8 3400s=$1920 The 3400s seem to be the most cost effective battery in the XS line.
  14. So if I decorate my truck for Christmas I ought to be able to do a 160 right.
  15. Thanks for the answers!!! That is what I thought I just wanted to be sure.
  16. I know I know. It aint mine Im just doin the work. Gonna be a badass mini van if the guy dont flake out and actually gets it done.
  17. Matt, What options do you have for an alternator for a 2007 Dodge caravan. Doesnt have to be a 270 but can you give me a price for a 225 and 270 if you make one that fits.
  18. Sale of 1 set is pending. Anyone looking for a bad ass set of tweeters take these off my hands.
  19. I have a dual alt setup. So far I have found that using just the dual alt to charge the back batteries holds my voltage better than it did when I had both alts charging all of my batteries. I have my stock location alt charging just my front battery which runs the truck and my 4 channel amps. I will be adding a 3rd alternator the end of november also.
  20. I think the amp draw is between 400-600 amps not 100% sure. It is purely a street beater. I dont want my voltage to drop lower than 13.5. 14 would be ideal at full tilt. Just so you know i am already putting 8 3400s being charged by 1 Mechman 270 w/adj voltage. I just want to know this for informational purposes when looking at building battery banks for other vehicles. I generally go by the total watts being put out by the system and double it when figuring a battery bank, but in my case I am tripling it with the 3400s being rated to handle 4000w each and 8 giving me 32000w of battery power.
  21. How exactly would this translate into this situation. XS Power D3400s how many based on the AH rating of 65 would it take to handle the Kicker Warhorse 10000.1
  22. Can someone please explain IF or how the amp hour ratings of a battery effect a battery for the purpose of car audio.
  23. Nathan can you please explain if and how the Amp Hour rating effects batteries in an audio system.
