I remember when I was first getting into systems, I came here and saw thehoe92's and the white yukon system. I loved those builds, I envied them. I've heard of bibby, wasn't around for his time though. It's like this on the other forum I read daily, there are a few members that always stand out and then just vanish.

vvx 10s on 1800 watts
walwalka replied to newschoolsoundz's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
Johnathan Price has a setup with 2 IA 20.1's and 4 VVX 10's, or well he did until he swapped them for Sundown SD 10's. .5 ohm strapped. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Fk5zUUmCQ That is the biggest build on vvx 10's I've seen. -
You say your voltage drop is worse, but you don't mention any voltages? That were your voltages before the alt and after? How many AH is the stock battery? When I had my 1100.1 I have a small XS XP750 in the back to help the voltage. This was with a stock 80 amp alt. Before the small XS battery I would drop from 14.2v to 13.1 when the bass hit, I had a small the 1100.1 and a F300. After the small xs battery I started at 14.2v and dropped to 13.9v, half the drop I had before with one small battery. Hifonics amps are power hungry, they like to have a reserve of power.

It just all comes down to what you can afford.. I had a hifonics amp and then I sold it, it just wasn't for me. It wasn't junk, but it was exactly how it's priced. An entry level amp, that does decent power and isn't complete shit like the rest of those entry level amps. However, it wasn't that great of an amp either. It didn't do 2 ohm rated, or 4 ohm for that matter. It sucked a lot of juice to make what power it did. And all the blue light were too much to handle.. I know what you're saying, that AT amp has blue light on it too.. But they are a third as bright as the new BRX line of amps which is what I had.. Furthermore, in the end.. It seems to me that A LOT of the people who run DD thinks DD is the end all be all of great car audio... But for the price, there is better value out there. Is it Hifonics? Hell no.. Something else maybe. That's just my opinion.. I won't disagree that DD stuff is extremely good. But you do get what you pay for.

The BRX replace the BRZ, I had a BRX and it had troubles from the get go. However, it did push my XFL well. I definitely want to see exactly what they do!

mysterious box showed up
walwalka replied to audiofanaticz's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
Because of that stupid grill my battery was packaged up and shipped to someone else... lol Oh well I'll just order it from amazon. -
My first amp was a pioneer gm-5300t, I had it hooked up to two sony xplod 12's.. I sold it and the subs, got a single type r 10 and an Alpine MRP-M500. Which I used until I put the hifonics I just bought in the other day.

Starting battery
walwalka replied to walwalka's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
OK thank you, that is what I wanted to know. I have a set of posts here at the house that will work. -
I have a question about the starting battery for my car, it is an 03 dodge neon sxt 2.0L SOHC. I have been looking at the XS power S1200 and the D1200, I know the S is a starting battery and the D is a deep cycle. But why should I spend the 20 to 30 dollars difference? I will only be running about 650W RMS off of the battery. Right now the car just has the stock factory battery or so it appears that way. The largest space I have for the battery to fit in is Length:8 in, Width:6.5 in, Height:7 3/4 in. The battery also has to be right hand positive. I just need help with the best battery for my purpose that will fit in the spot I have available. Noob question I know, but I'm trying to learn without being pesky. thanks guys!
