i foamed the inner body panels of my burban that i couldnt get too then used Fat mat everywhere else installed over 300 sq ft

i bought a used AQ2200D and the OS-4 Wiring harness i needed for my new tahoe and the steering wheel control module i need also and put about $500 away

thats eight bolts 1 coil of each sub goes to a set of bolts the other coils is connected + to - with 8 gauge EDIT: just saw your edit lol the other 4 voice coils are connected together just like the diagram Yes I fixed my post to say voice coils instead of bolts (told you it was late and my head hurts!) I hope you mean the + from one coil and the - from the other coil (on the same sub) other wise you are only using 1 coil from each sub and thus getting your .5 ohm reading (4 2ohm coils in parallel) that is what im doing didnt now it needed to be the positive of one coil connected to the negative of the OTHER coil i will rewire them tommorow and see if it fixes it either way if it was a .5 ohm load the AQ2200D handled it like a champ thanks for the help No problem! let us now if it sounds any better! will do! thanks again man

thats what i was thinking just worried me cause the one AQ2200D is temporary it will be two AQ2200Ds strapped daily so i didnt want em to be strapped at .5 daily

Alright so I have 4 L7 15"s D2 ohm I have them wired exactly like this Here's a pic of the wiring in the box So I wired them exactly like the diagram and it reads .5 Ohm on my TPI scope 440.. Anyone have any idea why?? EDIT: it dosent sit right at .5 ohm it goes back anf fourth between like .3 and up to 1.3 on my sperry DMM it sat right at .5 ohm for a bit but it goes back and fourth also its wired to a AQ2200D at the moment

With two dual 2 ohm speakers You can only get a two Ohm load or a .5 ohm load that amp isint stable at .5 ohm also you would need good electrical to run that low and I don't know what your electrical system consists of so that's why I said two ohms Your speakers will play perfectly fine there as long as you don't have the gain cranked up and clip the speakers

With two dual 2 ohm speakers you should wire it at two ohms Here's a diagram of how to wire then to get the 2 ohm load

i'm guessing you're saying go with 8 gauge? lol xD Just do 8 gauge and trim what you need to. Lol yup sure am Yea a Lil trimming will do no harm

8 gauge barley fits in my L7 15s terminals 8 is more then enough but either will work I'd go with 8 gauge

i haven't even tuned my amp yet.. no one has an o-scope or anything so i just put half gain and call it a day untill i can get an o-scope lol, but yeah i'll slowly have overkill too but it'll have to be pieced together as money alows lol heres where i got my oscope.. http://www.testextra.com/tpi/pages/tpi_440_1mhz_handheld_oscilloscope_true_rms_dmm.htm well worth the money and one of the best investments ive made

if you already have one alpine MRP-M1000 then the cheapest way to go would to pick up another used one like you said only down side to that is you will have to gain match the amps and it makes it harder to tune with two amps but if you were to pick up two AQ1200Ds like i suggested and strap them then you would only have to tune the master amp and the slave will follow makes tuning alot easier but as for running at .5 ohm i wouldnt do it without some beefy electrical im going to be running two AQ2200Ds strapped at one ohm and my electrical is dual 300 amp iraggi alts two XSpower D3400 and two XS Power D3100 but i like overkill.. lol

If you can have the $500 budget that's the price of two brand new AQ1200D (before shipping don't know if it's free shipping with them or not) and since you can get a final ohm load of two ohms you could run two AQ 1200Ds strapped at 2 ohms

yeah i understand, but im going to sound like an idiot.. and How exactly do you find out if the are D2 or D4? other then the website, i bought them used.. so i physically have them beside me and thats all i can use to find out You can check it with a DMM if you have one Or it sometimes says it somewhere on the sub

Get dual 4 ohm so you can get a 1 ohm load Out of those amps if it was me I would wait for the AQ 2200D but that's because I only have experience with the AQ
