so does anyone know what the single yellow wire off the alt is for? i heard that only one wire is needed to tell the alt to turn on, so im thinking i just wire that into a 12v ignition source can anyone confirm this? the alt is a 300 amp iraggi alt

Moneys tight but I really am contemplating putting an XS D3400 in the trunk because the 3100 would really strain my alternator im running two D3400s on my stock 160 amp[ alt, even if you put the D3100 it would not strain the alt. a D1200+D3400 will support 2500w fine, with an isolator you risk drainin your batts alot easier, just run them in parallel. and like said above^ playin a 2500w system even on low volume with the car off is not good, if you turn the car off turn the system off.

i dont think using a 4 pin oval plug alt will be a problem, as it wont run anything in the truck. the yellow wire i thought needed to be hooked up to a 12v ignition source, as in it turns on and off with the truck if i can use the AVBM with the seperated alt then i will for sure. just sold my AQ 18" so will be ordering my bracket this week

Alright i will be ordering my dual alt bracket for my tahoe very soon, i will be running the stock 160 amo alt in the stock location, and a 300 amp iraggi alt in the bracket, running to one XS D3400, and powering a RF T2500BDCP, and a mids and high amp soon. now one my alt, seen here the 4 pin oval connector only has one wire, the yellow one. what do i connect this to? a 12v ignition source? this alt will be completly seperate from the stock electronics on the truck and will run only the system

dont use a isolator, just run your batterys in parallel, and since you already got a XS under the hood why not get XS in the back?
