  1. wow thats really cool. now either they actually care or the guys just a fan and finally had a chance to call you and talk to you, next he might be knocking on your door asking for a demo lol
  2. 3 years is pretty good for a hu to last. its about time to get a new one anyway... you have got your moneys worth though if you ask me... it probably just pooped out and thats the end of it. just went bad. if im wrong then say so but thats what my guess would be.
  3. ok finally got time to look at some psu. i found this regular power supply that has 10a and is like 10 bucks more. would this one work? http://www.frys.com/product/1975145?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
  4. are you sure thats 1000 lumes? i mean my 200 lume surefire looks a hell of a lot brighter then that...
  5. you can do all that with the jensen, except mine doesnt have bluetooth which would be nice. and it comes with HD radio, you dont have to buy it. also i looked that the pioneer and why does that little front piece come off? i would lose that thing in second. design fail if you ask me but other then that it does look like a really nice unit.
  6. no it doesnt come with the navi, its navi ready. the nevi is like another 100 bucks. i dont have it cuz i have a gps and personally if i had to use the navi then im probably going on a trip or driving for a while and i dont want to lose my radio (or movies) for the navi. so id rather use the gps. but its up to you. and as for SQ i think it sounds great. i will try to take a good video of my truck (i just bought my mom a new 12mp camera so ill see if its better then my 3mp phone lol) ill try tomorrow if i remember. but my interiors are not ampd and i think it sounds good. the hu itself is very easy to use. sometimes it takes a little bit to load my ipod, not sure why, but it doesnt bother me. i just wish the background was cooler or i could change it or change the color or something. but mine doesnt...
  7. wow making almost 43k a year from advertisements... thats not cool... not cool at all. i dont make 43k working full time... yet...
  8. agreed^^ but if that doesnt bother you then im sure you can find the harness somewhere. call kenwood and they should be able to get you one.
  9. wow that was fast... i was just looking for an update and its shut down hahaha
  10. lol same thing was happening to me. i just tried again one day and it worked hahaha
  11. yes it is. they have a new model of it but i actually like mine more. but the new one is still nice.
  12. i also use google sketch up and its awesome. im self taught but when you first open it you can go through there little tutorial and learn pretty good. there is just WAY to much to explain. if someone can tell me how to upload a file ill put a couple boxes i made just for you to look at and see how finished products look and figure it out. but yea get all your dimensions from the box calculator and put them in exactly. and boom, in no time your done,(actually it takes a while to build one, for me at least)
  13. i have a jensen vm9312hd and i love it. ive had it for over a year without one single problem. i payed 200 for it bnib off craigslist.
  14. yea, you might have to get a clear coat to go over the paint or else the smooth surface will just chip and peal right off. but you cant paint a smooth surface, it needs to be scruffed up with at least 200 grit i think, i use the green scotch pad and thats the perfect surface to paint on. but i would also think you would not want to paint on the touch pad, cuz once your hands get sweaty and stuff it might start to come off, and if you ever use your nail even a little bit it will scratch right off cuz you cant scruff up the surface of it.
  15. ok. thanks a lot. this helped me a lot. i will try to look into some power supplies tomorrow in between work and ill post them on here and if you or anyone could let me know if they would work for my needs that would be awesome. thanks again
  16. ok i know Kranny already said to just use all the yellow wires, but what are the different "rails" for. im not familure with how the power supply works exactly. i just plug it in lol.
  17. i was thinking about something like that but like i said its for my garage and i actually work out of it so shit gets dirty and dusty and stuff. i figure if i just had some cheaper simple equipment it would be easier to just replace if i needed to. but ill look into different cpu PSUs. i cant wait to get started i just want to wait till its warmer, its like average 15-20 degrees right now. but yea ill look into 8A and what watts should the psu be? just whatever i will be running?
  18. sorry i searched momentary switches and thats what it showed me, i didnt really look that much at them... i was just trying to show him what type to look at. and i didnt think there were headlights on it because he said he bought headlights for it.. so i thought that meant it didnt have any. and thats why they would need to be fused. if im wrong with any of this please tell me. (ps im not arguing with you just saying why i did what i did.) thanks
  19. well im on a budget here also... i would like to only spend like $50 bucks on a power supply. and i really dont plan on using an amp and its only 4 speakers. well actually 6 speakers cuz we have 2 outside speakers i will hook into it also. the HU is 200 watts max. 50x4. so what would work for that in my price range?
  20. here is the power supply i will probably be using, http://www.frys.com/product/6366531?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG, but i built my box on google sketchup but i dont know how to add the file on here... if you want to see it tell me how and ill post it.. but do you think that PS would power an amp? im not planning on using one but maybe in the future...
