  1. It would really be helpful if you were to tell us what size tire you plan on running.. If you're going for a 2-3" lift, do body and save the money. You said it yourself its for street and never mentioned being off road.. Body lift-looks (Cheap, but looks retarded over 4") Suspension lift-Performance (Has a cost but worth it if you plan at all going off road.) So, tell us what you think of running. I personally have a buddy who has a 79 Bronco sittn on 39.5s. If you're handy, you can just use blocks.. but then again, I need to know what height you are looking to get/ size tire you wanna run to recommend anything.

  3. Hmm, I think I have really good friends then. MOST of my friends when I help them install shit, I don't charge em. I enjoy installing shit, and when I get to, then it's fine by me. Now, for shit like speaker wire or crimps and shit, If they're a real good friend, I just give em the shit. Why the hell would you charge your best friend for 3 ft of speaker wire, that you would probably never even notice was missing. Plus, you use it as leverage. Lets say, you run out, and he has some thing you need, all you gots to do is be like "hey, remember that speaker wire I gave you.. This is now mine as pay back." Beeping the horn is another thing.. as a joke, okay, but multiple times is stupid, and just asking to be told to fuck off. I had friends who are soo fucking whipped, that as soon as their girl texts them they drop everything to respond.. Bitching while I'm helping you is just a lit fuse. Bitch enough and I'll tell you to do the shit yourself. Just my .02 cents on the topic. I can see where as charging them for the items like speakers and amps and heavy power wire, yeah. Respect plays big with me.. Disrespect me, and you've fucked yourself because I won't acknowledge you live.

  9. You can buy a turn key motor for ~$3000. Jegs carries GM Performance parts motors. A small block 350, everything new, with the intake, carb and water pump for right around $2200. If you were looking to rebuild a 350, I would look into Summit Racing for heads. They have a set of cast iron 350 heads for like $600. Thats pretty cheap considering the price of rebuilding. Just food for thought. The GM Performance Parts engine isn't turn key but its pretty damn close. I would read into it more before jumping on to building though. Make sure you understand everything before you go buying parts. Focus on the internals because its easier to replace the intake and carb then it is rods and pistons. If you plan on adding any boost. Like a supercharger or turbo, you better invest in forged internals. All in all I would say go with a crate motor for a daily driver, and for a weekend warrior, then rebuild it and make it stout.. Edit: 350 crate motors are cheaper then rebuild. Any other motors like a 454 a rebuild is usually cheaper. Just imho.
  10. Best answer would be stating your budget. If you have the money the spend the extra on pro, if you don't then get regular. All depends on how big your wallet is. I would assume yes, if the stock did a decent job then regular will be like 100x better. Remember, quality comes at a price.. not dynamats price though lol.

  12. Hmm. I think your best bet would be to look into a aftermarket wheel marker like Barry Grant or Momo, any company along those lines and see if they make an adaptor. Something to think about.. If you're worried about your car being stolen you can get the quick release hubs and take your wheel and hide it. Little extra bonus. Anyways check those places and see what you find. It can be done. Anything can be with a little bit of time

  14. I personally loved the game. I happened to be at game stop in the mall, a mall I rarely go to. The game was $34.99 used.. I'm on my way to the counter to check out and I see a brand new version for $39.99. First plus. I went home and played it. I've just beat the game a few days ago. Got the platinum for it. I only need to do the assassin's missions and little side quests and that's it. I found the game to be very in depth. Definitely keeps you busy. The additional sequences 13 and 14 are pretty cool too. I found 14 to be more fun the 13. Sequence 13 seemed short, but for $3.99 each, I still wasn't touching the MSRP price of the game. I think the game is a great buy, but it's definitely not for everyone. Edit: It's much better then the first too. Not as repetitive.
  15. To the OP you have 4 options.. A. Do it, and hope to hell it doesn't rain. B. Do it right, accordian seal it, make no gaps between box seal with silicon, bed line or waterproof paint it the box and wait for bed cover. C. Don't do it and just wait for bed cover. D. Or, do as my red neck friends would, get a waterproof tarp and duct tape the shit on. BTW Ray, you got you're shit perfect. Almost looks factory. I think that might be too hard for a lot of people to do on here.. always changing. You would eventually get bored or find something better. Still, looks bad ass!! Anyways my .02 cents
  16. As things go around here, you know we are all pic whores, so when you get it, POST PICS!! I want pictures of the delivery, unpacking, install and it being used. But really, you don't have to but I think you should so we can share in your excitement. We all know getting new tools is fun.
  17. Another tid bit of input I have. If you haven't used brads for putting a box together they work great. Last box I put together, I used a shit ton of glue and brads to hold the pieces so they didn't move. I wouldn't use them solely to put the box together though, especially a big ass box, lol. I can vouch for cheapo brad nailers. I also used a Harbor Frieght one and I was constantly tryin to put the brads in the rest of the way with a hammer. Doesn't work. I completely agree on the $30 price difference and going with the bigger compressor. You will be glad when its over and done with. I think you will be very happy with the 60 gal over a small 30. The only problems I see is having to buy about 3 buddys a few beers for helpin' unload the heavy S.O.B. Also don't expect it to be quiet, as it won't be. Just in case you didn't know.
  18. One thing I would look into is CFM, ratings. They will make or break a lot of projects. Many paint guns require 10ish CFM, (depends on the model.) Also, many air tools are rated by CFM. I personally wouldn't buy the 30 gallon. You will quickly find, it's better off to spend the extra dough and buy a bigger compressor you can grow into. I have a 30 gallon and it sucks. I have to wait for it to fill up even with a brad nailer and it blows. My opinion would be go for the CH 60 Gallon CH 60 Gallon I can't offer an opinion based on the quality/life of the Kobalt, but its specs are nice. 11+ CFM at 90 psi is a seller. I have personally owned many CH tools, and haven't have many problems, not that I'm speaking for everyone, but I'd search internet reviews of the Kobalt, and if they look good, go with it. Definitely can't go wrong. Anyways just my .002 cents (Been adjusted for inflation) ~John~
  19. Hyper Pole: This is an extended version of the standard P Chamfer. It has 1.250” more pole and chamfer resulting in an increased compression ratio for better cooling. P Chamfer: This is a chamfer on the end of the pole, it helps to bring the air down around inside of the motor and helps cool the coil better.   20. I would suspect the winter blend gasoline, isn't helping much. I know a guy who had an early model hybrid gas/electric car. Summer he pulled 40 miles to a gallon. Winter time he only got 30ish mpg depending. If you were gonna do an upgrade, I would do a freer flowing exhaust and CAI. Ditch the throttle body spacers, the gain isn't worth it. Just my opinion. All they do is give you an extra cfm of air volume. A motor is a big air pump, the freer the air is and colder, the better it runs. If I Got that in my truck I'd be happy =) Granted my foot is usually in it, and it's carbed. Its not stock either, but for a 350 crate motor with restrictive exhaust and not having a cold air intake, I manage 8 with my foot in it, and 12 with it out, city miles.. Stop and go kills me EDIT: I would check you air filter. I'd make sure it's clean. Also, check your throttle body and see if its dirty, any kind of dirt in a fuel injection system messes it up.

Like you were saying about good sounding, shit, if they didn't sound good, at least they look sick as f**k. That's what I really like about SS, looks and performance.

  23. I also have another solution for you.. You wanted to use it only when in the accessory position, so I'm taking uhoh's idea, you could also get a test light and find which wire in your ignition is your accessory ( + ) and hook a toggle up to that to run your head unit. Uhoh's idea is the best, but the only problem is when you forget to turn it off, you can drain your battery. My buddy wired his up the same way, and his head unit is possessed and turns on whenever so it drains his battery often. Also, might want to fuse your toggle somewhat near your 12v connection so if it shorts, only the fuse blows and no fires happen. Just my .02 cents. Feel free to use my advice or not. Thinking about what you said about the bass making the pain go away, I know a few guys who carry pictures of their kids in their wallets. I know other guys (an automobile appraiser for instance) who carries pictures of his babies, but they aren't kids, their his cars. Do what you do and don't let a girl change that. Just think if Steve's girl didn't like bass and she changed him, we (speaking for a shit ton of people) wouldn't have a great forum to be on and a bad ass Tahoe to dream about.. (Maybe I'm the only one..) Now, I know I'm new, but I've been lurking around for well over a year. Looking at everyone's different builds and what not. Anyways, I wouldnt go back to her bro, she'll just pull the same ole' and screw you over again. Let it be her loss, that she doesn't have you and find a girl that loves you for what you do
