  1. Why would they be any different with Sundown amps? Yes, they can help, just like any other amp.
  2. SounDigital 8k, strapped 2500-1bds, a DC 9k, or strapped SAZ-4500Ds
  3. I hope you're joking. But unfortunately I know you're not.... wow. I meant those old subs (that were in the box). How don't they look like these: ascendantaudio.com/products/Ascendant/Havoc/HavoclLineFront.jpg They both don't have a dustcap (which is uncommon) and have a little badge on the sub Lmao, they both have dustcaps and it is soooo easy to tell they are W7s. The badges dont look anything alike. Also, common sense would lead most people to reading the OPs signature to see what he was running before posting a stupid question. Also, do you see any screws in his setup holding the subs down? No, because that is a JL patented mounting system. I didn't study the badges. I just asked a question because the OP obviously knows. I can't view the sig because I'm mobile 98% of the time. I don't pay attention to JL, so I didn't know about their mounting system. The person who commented before you even said he understands the confusion. Therefore, I don't find the question "stupid." I'm clearly not alone Let's stop messing up this guys thread and change the subject now

  5. bro chicken pretty much owns his own casino. lol I can tell lol. He's always wasted in all of Steve's vids.
  6. Nice. Are those Havocs? What are you doing amp wise?
  7. i now know how a dope head feel about drugs cuz i feel the same damn way about car audio... i need therapy Haha, you aren't alone
  8. I've heard lots of bad stuff about RE. I've heard many times that they're made with cheap materials. Idk if its true though. I'd probably do a temp setup to lol. I probably couldn't resist not setting it up
  9. but will the 4 woofers displace more air? thats really what im looking for Depends on the subs. For example, 2 AA/SMDs on 20kwrms will move more air than 4 Alpine Type Rs. But, 4 XLs will also move more air than 4 Kicker CVRs. Depends on sub and power lol.
  10. 4 12s have 452.39 squared inches of cone area and 2 15s have 353.49 squared inches. The difference is an equivalent of a 5.6 inch speaker. You won't notice an audible difference if either setup is in the optimum enclosure. There will only be a noticeable difference on the TL. But in theory, more cone area on the same power will get louder.
  11. The ports width should be 8x its height. For example a 4inch high port should be about 32 inches wide, a 4.5 inch high port should be 36 inches wide, etc
  12. yea basically.. and just ideas for the enclosure or anything that i need to make this successful. b/c once its done its gonna be done for a while and as far as budget goes lets say 1500 dollars cuz like i said at the most i can support about 5500 watts and thats prob with big voltage dips So is 1500 for the subs and amps??? If so I would do a pair of 15" AQ HDC3's on an AQ3500, which would be a total of about 1350 shipped...... That would work best with the space and budget you have Edit: The box I came up with using the specs you listed is Height- 21.5 Width- 40 Depth- 27 Port is 3" tall, 38.5"Wide(the entire bottom of box minus wood thickness) and 23" Long Gives you a port area of 13.7" of port per cube, tuned to 34Hz This gives you a space of 8.39 cubes after sub and bracing displacement(.25 for bracing) The port height to width ratio is 1:8. The OP would need a 5" high port if he wanted the port as wide as the box, but that'd completely throw tuning off.
  13. As for enclosure-sub up, port back (against firing towards hatch) As for the budget- is that for subs and amps? If so, check out the Audioque AQ3500D.1. Its rated at 4300wrms at 1 ohm, but its been clamped to do a little bit more. The amp was $750 shipped last time I checked. That leaves you with $750 left. You have room for 2 15s or 4 12s (if the box is ported) Edit: I am in your position. I'm in high school and don't have a ton of money to throw into car audio. I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute too (very similar body as Escape)
  14. Are you looking for amp and sub suggestions? What's the budget? I know you said you don't wanna drop 5k, but we need a solid budget.
  15. Thanks a lot for that review. I like how you even threw the XL into the mix. I guess there isn't really a sub out like the SMD (a sub that takes a SHIT LOAD of power while sounding good). I wonder how the XL will play music on 16,000+ watts. I'm not too confident, but well see
  16. I cant give you a dead honest opinion because I never got the 5s to full power. I did like the overall sound of the SMDs better though. The level 5 is just more of an SPL sub and is built towards that. I have heard the XLs and they are a much more musical sub. Its not really a fair comparison either because they are such different subs.I will post more on this topic if you remind me.I just got wifi hooked up in my shop and am posting as I work. Here's your reminder =]
  17. You're changing your mind again?!? Will that fit in a wall, or are you doing a blowthrough?
  18. The SMD and Level 6 won't?
  19. While I dont completely agree with what the OP is doing, he does make a valid point..this is the "Feedback" section.
