  1. PM Oldsboomer. He has a Fi Q with BP Power on 2200watts rms. I have a comment on your electrical. Before you run that kind of power, you should get atleast a 220 amp alt and better batteries. Those optimas dont charge and discharge fast.
  2. Yes, some have a higher strand count and use more copper (a higher percentage.) Its just like power cable, it just transfers audio signal.
  3. You could run 100 speakers per channel as long as the impedence is correct. You can run those two mid ranges to one channel if they're single 4 ohm speakers. If you wire them, you'll put 2 ohms on one channel
  4. The main purpose of a port is to tune the enclosure; It just allows air to leave it
  5. I would do big three, new starter, and a batt in the back
  6. His subs might be 2 ohms though. If you want full power and have a final load of 2 ohms, you need the cable. If the final load of the sub is 1 ohm, you would do master/slave.
  7. Thanks. I'll clarify the second part. On some amps (like Kickers) you don't need a remote turn on lead. Instead the amp turns on when it senses voltage in the RCA cable. I'm guessing the amp doesn't have that because you didnt know what I was talking about.
  8. Thanks, but im not ready to buy yet. Ill be buying in a few months. When i am ready to get the sub, ill probably get new because I dont like used subs (nor do i like other used things..giggity) and the price is good
  9. What I meant is the amp is rated at 2200 watts rms at 14.4 volts. If i drop to 13.4, itll do ~1800 wrms at 1 ohm. The amp im looking at is an Audioque AQ2200D
  10. I just didnt wanna underpower the BTL when the voltage drops (nuthin huge, probably to 13.4 max). Thanks for the input
  11. Which sub will like being in about a 4 cubic foot box tuned to ~32hz on a 2000wrms amp more? A 15" DC Level 4 XL or stock 15" Fi BTL?
  12. Its premiering in 4 minutes!!
  13. DC Audio has excellent customer support. I asked Thorshammer 3 questions in a PM. The first question was answered about 5 hours later, second response from him came about an hour after I posted my response, and the third response came about 20 minutes later..talk about FAST!! I asked him, "would you put an XL or Level 5 on 2000 clean watts rms?" He surprisingly said, xl the lvl 5 really doesnt wake up till 4k or so ." This just shows that he is honest and doesnt JUST want your money. I havent made a purchase with them yet, but im willing to when the time is right!
  14. yeah, I agree. I would do a single 12 with that budget, but you still won't get "big bass."
  15. Does that AQ have a high level input? Also, does it have an option to turn on when it senses a signal from the RCAS?
  16. Damn, and thats on only about 70% of the rared RMS. That must really get down when you kit 4kwrms!!
  17. I would do around $400. Maybe $500 but to me that's pushing it
  18. oh, I see now. A good cheap and reliable place to find wire is KnuKonceptz.com I've used them many times and have never been disappointed
  19. Just keep in mind that the "2 gauge" at walmart is probably 4 gauge at the biggest
  20. you need to measure the length because it's different for every setup. I would do 0 gauge but you could do it with 2, I would just do an extra run or two Kinetiks or XS Power (from mechman.com). I heard mixed reviews about Dekas
  21. Don't use yellow tops! They aren't able to charge and discharge fast enough. Also, they don't have a large capacity
  22. Shit, 1 grand? No thanks..the only sub I would spend that kinda money on is an SMD.
  23. Ive seen the beginning of the van, i need to look into that again. The Tahoe came out EXTREMELY clean BTW!
