  1. I will never ever ever cut and splice a harness...best way to void a warranty ever. There are ways around it Bummer, I buy used and pass on the extended warranty crap. I don't waste my time with stuff I can't fix when it breaks. I'm frugal that way.
  2. So much for the people's car. I'd cut and splice, then again I'm custom. I don't know about you.
  3. Looks like things slowed down a bit. So how about a little teaser of how this is going to make setting the gains up easier? Is the amount of distortion this thing "hears" adjustable? How is this going to work if my full range amp is rated st .05% THD at 4 ohms and my sub amp is rated at 1.5% THD at 2 ohms? Thanks.
  4. I've got robot ears. Just kidding. The Clip-O-Meter looks sweet. (I was going to all it the Clip-Detector, but this being the internet, someone was bound to get the wrong idea.) I'm down for one when they come out. Is there a limit as to how big of an amp this deal will handle? Will it work on a kicker warhorse at full tilt?
  5. In my quest for big sounds on a little funds I have noticed that it's all in the details. Today we look at 1/0 gauge ring terminals. Two for five bucks isn't going to break the bank, but when you're looking to buy 25 pairs, economies of scale need a second look. So this is what I found: Ring terminals at Amazon Now time for some pics. Some specifics. The eyelet measures 7/16"ID and just under 1" OD. The opening for the wire is at 1/2". The overall length is 2". Hope this helps, thanks for looking.
  6. How about $167 shipped? $167 Pyle 21 Tell that to all those how have successfully used the Pioneer B20 8" full range speaker. Like the saying goes:
  7. No vids just yet, but I'm working on it. Here are some pics of my truck with some skinny tractor style tires on some home-brewed beadlocks. The tires are 6 inches tall and and inch wide. I call this look Florida Mud.
  8. Here are some pics of my Wheely King Monster Truck. I'm running the stock electronics. I've got a crawler conversion in it. Most noticeable are the Juggernaut rims and tires. I narrowed the rims by cutting the inner bead mount of the rim, reversed it and slipped it back over the rim shell. This also gave me the clearance needed around the knuckle. I opted to leave the steering stock for a more scale appearance. I working on some adapters to mount the wheels. Let me know what you think.
  9. I'm going to go check it out. Anybody else going?
  10. I don't have lots of mids and highs, but I do have a need for high power at 4 ohms via my IB subs. *sneeze sneeze*
  11. There is a restaurant called Snuffers. They have a great cheese burger and cheese covered fries that'll stop your heart. Go to the one on greenville ave. if it's not too out of the way for you. You can check them out HERE
  12. Here is a link to my new build. Enjoy. The Do-Over
  13. Will do. Weather permitting I'll get started in the next few days. Hurrican Alex, ftl.
  14. Thanks. It's been a while since I've owned 18". They are just silly big. I'll probably start a new build so I can give it a catchy title. I'll update my sig with links. I'll probably get started this weekend. BTW congrats on SOTM March 2010. Tearing up the vol knob with that amp I hope.
  15. So I ordered some woofers from this outfit. In big red blinking letters they announce "Build Time 5-7 Days." That's cool. Tack on another 4 for shipping, so we're looking at two weeks. No biggie. I put my order in, a Friday night no less. It's not till Monday that my payment is accepted, so two weeks from Monday. From what I here I'm suppose to get an e-mail from from these guys when my stuff ready to go. I'm a patient guy. It's been a week, I figure I'll get an e-mail today or tomorrow. Today, I come home from work and bam! Typical Fi Audio, showing up ready to party. Wondering what they are? 18" IB3.......For my car ......Flame Suit On They'll be replacing these. Old school Ascendant Audio Atlas. Old school? Yes, it's been that long. I opted for the Darth Vader edition IB3s with black motors and a dark grey logo. Not really, this is what they sent me, so I'm running with it. Stay tuned for a tear down and rebuild. Thanks for looking. Thanks Fi.
  16. After years of hassle free noise making I got the urge to try something different. No better way to be different than with a JBL GTi. Here are some side by side pics. Out with the old, in with the new. Here is a pic of the sub in the cabinet. For a direct swap it sound great. I'm running the amp at 6 ohms now so I'm getting a little less power. It's still just as loud. I updated my receiver as well. It's a Sony STR DN-1010. It's pretty sweet. I got more adjustments for the speakers I've got hooked up. In the near future I'm looking to get another pair of JBL's and run 4 of these 15's off a pair of Behringer EP2500. I've already got the second amp, just need the speakers now.
  17. Going bigger and Badder Just ordered a pair of 18" IB3s Infinite Baffle baby!

  20. The turn out was good. We got shut down a little early by the fuzz. I post some pics later tonight. HotRods and what not get together Friday nights at the corner of Toepperwein road and I-35N, behind the Carl's Jr. You'll probably catch one or two with systems there. I know more get together Saturday nights by the Fudruckers next to Ingram Mall but that's on the other side of town.
  21. Usually we meet up in San Marcos. A buddy living there has a TL.

  23. I can't tell. I do know it gets plenty loud and sounds good. Thanks for the software link. Looks cool but a little complicated for a simpleton such as myself.
