well I have been contemplating doing 1 DC Level XL, but I just kinda looked into the SA-12 Sundown subs, and was considering maybe doing something with them. I was just wondering if putting 2 SA-12's, which say they are good for 600rms on an amp (kicker 11zx2500.1) that does 2845RMS @14.4 would be too much for them? that would be pushing 1400 rms when the voltage stays up there, and would drop to around 1250rms each when the voltage goes down to 12.5 or so. This would be a daily setup, tuned to around 30-34hz or so. I know box rise would change how much they get when going above the fs and tuning frequency, but it would be getting full power when getting do low around 33hz. Price wise this would fit my budget more, and from what I have read sundowns have really great sound quality

Perfect Box for 2 DC Level 4 15"S ?
dereileak replied to dereileak's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
ok designed a new box with great specs, let me know what you think, I have to measure to make sure the port depth will fit in the hatch, if its too deep I will make the port like 4-3.5 inches deep and widen the port to 24 inches or so I was recommeded by cj18 to do 30 hz tuning, 14 sq inches per cubic ft, and 3.5 cubic ft per sub, for 7 cubic ft total, here is what I made -
You can't post prices if they are below the Manufacturer's Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) This is a standard contract you have to sign to become a dealer of most any product. Thanks to everyone who has been taking advantage of the sale, we just picked up 30 more of the more popular batteries. Remember, we will be closed Christmas day through new years, so Monday will be your last day to take advantage of the sale!! I will be checking e-mails this weekend also: [email protected] Ahh ok, I respect that, makes sense

Ok, so I have 2 kicker cvx 15's that I will replace with 2 dc level 4 15's in the near future, a few months or so. Anyways, I want to design the box around the dc's, and was wondering if this box I made would be perfect, they recommend 3.25 cubic ft per sub, but is going higher then that better, like to 4-5 cubic ft per sub, or do they work best in what dc recommended? here is the box I designed, I may invert the subs and get add .42 cubic ft to the box, so it would be around 6.9 cubes I am going to adjust the port volume to a bit higher, otherwise is this box perfect for those dc's? I have limited space to work with here so, thanks for your help

Is My S1200 Dead?
dereileak replied to OrionStang's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
the voltages seem to drop in the winter, mine seems to rest at around 12.6-12.3 depending on how cold it is, I charge mine on the intellecharger every night, only 2 years old with a d3100 and a d3400, these batteries should easily last 5 years or more if you take care of them.. :/ -
Damn, well it will be at least a month before ordering, probably a month and a half, thats if I get the job, im kinda thinking 15's, but damn its hard to decide as far as suspension, all the weight in the back is making the back sag, so I will eventually do all new shocks around, and new front lowered springs, keeping the rear stock springs for the softer ride I can fit about a 6.5 cub box at most but it eats up my whole trunk, I could make it look alot sweeter back there with 12's cause of the extra room, but damn trade offs make it hard

Hey guys, so im pretty sure I have a job here now, have an interview Tuesday anyways.... I am going to be ordering these subs on my 2nd or 3rd paycheck and want to know what you think would be best. I have a kicker 2500.1 that outputs 2845 rms @14.4v's which match the level 4's perfect. I just want to know from what you guys have experienced which size would sound the best and be better. I have had kicker cvx 15's before and loved how low that they got, but the only thing I didnt like was that they didnt cover much range above 60hz really, I know 12"s will cover it a little better for an all around better range. Im running 4 sets of QS mids on a lot of power, so that 6 - 6.5 inch mids, 2 - 5.25 mids, 8 - 1" inch tweeters. its hard for me to decide, been watching youtube videos on both, the 12" one on one hand would be nice cause I could have a smaller box, recommened 1.5 cubs per sub, so 3 cubic feet, vs the 15's wanting 3.25 cubs each, so 6.5 cubic feet, but the 15's get so damn low, hell maybe considering 1 - 18" level xl or 5, not sure though. XD. Smaller box = more room in my limited trunk + less weight of the box. I have to get my amp situated too with good cooling. Because im so limited on the space, I am actually going to cut a square through the middle section of my rear seats, around 8' inches wide and 12's inches tall or so to get 100sq inches of port, the port will run up to the middle arm rest of the front seats, this will let me fit all the port in, and I am going to make some awesome arm rests for the rear seats + cup holders and all that, dont get me started on the lighting that will be inside the port let me know what you guys think from your experiences. This is all going into a tiny mazda3 hatch, with very little airspace inside, my kicker cvx 15's in a 6cub box sealed were making my whole windshield flex and move back in forth around 1/5 - 2 inches, so I cant wait to get these in ha ha ha ha Oh yea, im doing the wide roll surround on the sub, and a red black kevlar carbon woven dustcap, do you guys recommend a stiffer spider too? or anything else, thanks again cant wait to finish and enter sotm!!!! The system im buiding I want to basically if some one pulls up thumping thinking they are kick ass, that when I turn mine on they shit there pants and feel heart broken ha ha

my mechman alt only charges at around 13.8, and thats due it being internally regulated, nothing I can do, now that really never tops it off, but I do have the intellicharger built into my car so I just plug it in whenever im not driving, my question is, is it bad for the batteries to never be charged at 14.4? I have looked at some diode mods that allow make the alt charging voltage raise by about .8v by placing a diode inline with one of the wiresm im considering that, many times it charges at 13.4 or so too, with not much load, all having to do with the car trying to be fuel effient

those are sexy, doing the red black Kevlar caps when I do mine -
you can do as thick as you want, just remember, you hit a point where your doing huge thick wiring for speakers that will never get close to those limits, and your runs arnt gonna be that long, so if you go to thick its just extra weight and wasted wire, 16 gauge takes care of most things up to 100-150ish watts, maybe a bit more, and for subs you cant go wrong going thick, with 10 gauge, it will handle more then enough
