  1. well this is why im not sure what to do. the sundown site says 1ft^3 is ideal for sealed, but thats on rms power. im overpowering them a little so should i shrink it down or does that not matter with sealed boxes? on d4s one guy told me to do 2.25 per sub but the site says do that for lower power levels, and again, im overpowering them. Give em a cube each after displacement then. A sealed box normally has higher box rise than a ported box. So the actual power that they're seeing is probably a little less than you're thinking. Sealed boxes aren't like ported boxes. They have more cone control due to the fact that the box isn't open, so when the sub undergoes excursion. the vaccum within the box will make the sub work harder. Ported boxes don't have the cone control that sealed boxes due, so you try to recreate the effect by shrinking the box (with more power)and making it bigger (with less power). You won't really know until you try it. And more than likely you're going to get different answers across the board. You can always go big and shrink the box down if you want to experiment, but you can't do vice versa. If you build your first box with the intentions of trying to find the ratio that sounds the loudest or the best to your ears, build it big, and make it easy to dissasemble by using caulking instead of resin or wood glue. Once you find that, after a little trial and error. Build a badass box that you know will work the first try, sound badass, and get loud. well then the minimum i would be able to do would be at least 6.5 cubes (with little to no bracing) and i wouldnt be able to fit that. even if i did build it in the trunk it would be a pretty awkward shape and a little harder to calculate the volume if i wanted to still have it sealed off. looks like im stuck at a 142.0 until i can figure out how i can make my box more efficient . or until i sack up and decide to try burping at .25.

  3. yeah i could probably fit an extra .5 but thats about it. i learned somewhere that the higher ratio the bigger peak you will have. im new to designing bandpasses too lol
  4. 1 cube net sealed and 3 cubes net ported tuned to 45 hz for 2 sa 12s? should i make it bigger? smaller? i was told i should make my current box bigger to do better on the tl but i dont really have the room and this one takes up about the same space.
  5. FITTY SENTme a package, it was a daisy! On topic, seems like everyone wants to see a big cone area build. There's enough 4 18 builds going down, don't get a chance to see 8 15s 12 when he plans to upgrade is pretty rare. 16 is even better. shit i think 8 15s would be sick anyway
  6. 8 15s in a tunnel would move ridiculous amounts of air and get insanely low. 16 would be even better.
  7. the cp will compensate better for rise but at 1 the saz would be better. shit i bet you could get a 4500 ive seen single t1s take 2500 daily two t2s could probably do quite a bit more
  8. https://www.vtewarehouse.com/content/electromech/fuse/html/anl/anlfuse.php theyre only like seven bucks
  9. stetsom 4k2 the 2 ohm version or the 5k2

  12. Product I'm looking for: 1.) Line driver - any sort of good line driver. just need a good one, not super nice, doesnt have to have a shit ton of features. i just need to boost the rca signal voltage a bit. my deck is weeeeak. 2.) Deadener- Doesnt really matter what kind either, as long as its good deadener. 3.) Battery(ies) Either another D3100 for the back, or a smaller one for up front. Possibly both. Budget: Pm me what you have and we will talk Condition: good, usable. deadener has to be unused though Time Frame (if applicable): in time to be installed and ready for a comp on the 30th
  13. thats a big ol woofer. you could add a second batt if you wanted to, but its not completely necessary for 1200 watts. if i was you id just replace the front one with an xs or kinetic
  14. that new crescendo 2k is a hell of an amp for the price too.
  15. well i cant actually draw a design for you but i can give you some numbers and dimensions for a box tomorrow around noon.
  16. do you have sub specs? what music do you listen to? what car will it be going in?
  17. thats fine. for slot ports you usually want 12-16 sq in per cube
