from what i have heard, you want to specifically stick to one kind of metal if you can because the switch between silver and copper and gold and aluminum, creats electro negativity, creating a magnetic field, so i've been told by my "sound genesis" to try to stick to one kind of wire, when he explained it it made perfect sence, but for the most part silver is the best, (besides gold because of the cost) but no one makes silver wire that would be to pricy, so i would get copper rings if its possiable but just my 2 cents, many of these people know much more than me

Thanks so much i ordered my 2 18" recones on the 31st and they are here already.... 3 fuckin days... thats service Anna said they would ship by friday at the latest, well they are allready here and i just re-coned the subs just waitin to put the dust caps on to anyone who is considering buying DC subs, DO IT, they have the best customer service that i have every dealt with, sometimes the phone is busy, but wait 10 call back and your normally get through, hell if your buying subs I'm sure anyone will wait that extra 20 min thanks Rusty, Anna and everyone else with DC i don't think i could every buy another kind of sub, no all i have to do is get the rest of these people in the "Retard factor" in my town to switch and get some real subs shouldnt be too long considering i had the loudest car in Santa Cruz with just 1 18, now i'm goin for 2 and 2x the power, few more months and ill be done and ill post a build log
