  1. sounds like a faulty amp
  2. yea it just handles more power is the only difference from my understanding
  3. lol ok thats more like it 1 18 needs mininum 6 cubes after displacement.. lol so 12 cubes is what you need mininum...
  4. where did you get all the testing stuff i might get it just to meter my car x2 is there a website for the one you have?
  5. double walled... that would leave you around 10 cubes after all displacement if you're lucky.. might want to go with 15's for that kind of space
  6. i got a hifonics colossus amp that will put out 3200 watts @ 2 ohms so you would probably get around 2500 at 2.8 ohms.. or you could go with a aq2200 or sundown 1500
  7. i'm in houston, i could build you a box for the right price.. give me the outside dimensions and tuning you want and i'll pm you a price
  8. ok if you get 4 subs, take 2000 divide by 5, thats 500 watts a piece, thats a estimate your subs could get.. the rms of the subs you have now is what?? 250 watts... so you would just have to turn the gain down
  9. lol well i was just saying it will take 10 of those subs to equal 4 15's.. lol, so if i was you, i would sit and figure out what i can afford, and then go with what you can afford. dont spend more than you can afford.. lol
  10. its funny how everything relates back to oil drilling, i've been in the business for 10 years now... i've seen business go up, then go down... yes the economy does heavily depend on oil. Sadly, i'm one of those people that is currently umemployed.. at the moment.. but I do have to explain that when the gas is increasing, it means we are drilling more, and it creates more jobs.. which in end boost the economy somewhat to a point.. Maybe not for everyone .
  11. its not based on wattage, its all based on current draw, 400 watts would draw about 35 to 40 amps...if he has a lets say 70 to 80 amp alternator, then i can see voltage drop because it might only put out 50 to 65 actual amps... plus the reserve the stock battery has.. which probably isn't much...so yes it could happen and no it might not. It does depend on what he has under the hood...
  12. if you wanna take advantage of the sa-8's... then get at least 10 of them to get loud.. lol
  13. if he upgraded the stock front battery with a bigger battery.. then i see no issues of it at all
  14. well if you want to go with it.. then go for it... its your call to make..
  15. his eyes are set on dc.. so lets stick to dc products for him... not trying to bash on you..
  16. if all you got is 2k, then go with 4 12's or 4 15's dc lvl 3's 2 ohm coils, if you can afford it.. get 2 18's.. lvl 4 dc
  17. dc audio level 2 is 300 rms, level 3 is 600 rms excellent quality subs.. and can handle the power, if you upgrade the amp, then go with 2 12's.. more cone area
  18. ported would be loud but 4-8's over 3-15's.. not a chance...15's has more cone area over 4-8's
