Just got the new parts express catalog in. Eminence has some new car speakers out called "eminator". The 6.5" is $30 and rated @ 100rms & the 8" takes 125rms for $33. They look to have a treated paper cone. I haven't used them but just posting to let people know.

In my car with about 3000 rms, I only got big three, 80amp alt and 1 agm battery. Can only get a little over a minute of full volume playing till it goes to 13.0. When I'm driving I've never seen it go below 13.5. Plannin on a bigger alt soon -
price for a recone?
slow240sx replied to slow240sx's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Ok thanks, wasn't expecting prices posted, but I got a pm that took care of it. -
I just ordered a level 5 18" sub. What is the price for a recone should I ever need it? Do u just send me the recone or do I have to send the sub back to you?
-
Considering running the 18" level 5. Any other suggestions? Will this be ok on 2500rms for a month or 2 till I find a bigger amp?
-
How much will level 5 take daily? Got autotek mx5000 but will b switching that out in few weeks. Was gonna look for 3000rms amp but willing to do maybe 2 2000amps strapped if it will take it.
-
How much would I b able to give it down the road daily? Have u heard a death penalty to compare it to?
-
Workin on a new box for a wall setup. Currently have a dd 9515g. Box will be about 10 to 12 feet net. Electrical good to go. Will b runnin 3000rms to it. Some friends r runnin ia death penaltys & they takin 3000 daily. Was thinkin 1 of those would run off that power good. Any other suggestions for a sub? Tryin for around $500 or so. Will b tuned to bout 30. Lookin for descent spl but mainly for daily driving.

I got a 240sx hatchback. I did sub up port up with my 15. Sub is a few inches off glass and it flexes the whole hatch a good inch @ times. Also had two tens, subs up, port back. It sounded like it hit a little lower but had more rattle in taillights

Computer subs?
slow240sx replied to SysQo's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Sorry... then u could buy a reciever or amp on craigslist & do the same for pretty cheap. -
Didn't u already say u had sub amp? Id use 1/0 from battery to the rear of car. Then use distributionblock that has a few outputs. Try to find biggest wire from distro block to the amp. Different brands of wire r actually thicker than others. U could take amp to stereo shop & have them see what the biggest wire u can fit into amp. Use biggest wire u can fit into terminals. For mids amp, I would go with about a 75x4 and set hp crossover and gains accordingly. Its usually to have a little extra power for headroom so u don't try to overdrive amp

U could go to pawn shop & buy a cheap name brand receiver that u can hook dvd and computer too. It would have enough power to do what u need. Check clearance mids @ partsexpress. U should b able to find a deal there for something descent
