  1. Update, well this past week, I checked the connection points of the VCM, perfect. Did some testing and noticed that with all three alts connected to the VCM, two where charging at 15.0 and one was at 15.4? Is this because not enought load on them so the voltage isn't matching? Also ambient temp was over 100 degrees, motor was at 210 operating temp. I did get the current clamp out and noticed only 60 amps on each alt.
  2. Gallon of acetone will do the trick, I had a bunch over run into my door and lock up the hinge part to were I couldn't open the door, drop a few cap fulls of acetone in that area and worked like a champ, plus gallon of acetone is like $15 at home depot.
  3. Why what are you thinking will happen by having a higher xmax? For one it will have horrible handling and more likely to have coil rock. Those are two reasons why I wouldn't want something like that, and there are a few others I can think of too, but you have to learn I guess.
  4. Real name: Andrew McCullough Organization in which you are or will be competing in: USACI, MIDWESTSPL, ARSPL, and local shows/comps Comp vehicle: 2001 GMC Sierra Current setup: 4 HDC3-v4 15s walled 4 kicker comp KS 6.5(doors) 2 AQ3500D.1s(strapped) 1 Memphis mclass 4.75 Kenwood DDX812 Double Din molded into the dash, Kenwood excelon single din x794 in toolbox 3 XS D3100, 1 XS D3400, 1 XS VCM 4 230 amp Tejcurrent Yellow alts, Tejcurrent Quad kit(currently running just three alts) Why you should be part of the team: I attend a large amount of events in Arkansas and the surrounding states, currently one of the loudest vehicles in the state of Arkansas. Been a customer of your products since the beginning of this year and it is the best sound deadening product I have ever used, been in this sport for 8 years. I was a car audio installer a few years back, worked for two different shops for over a year, have my degree(EE) now, car audio is my hobby. Your product is amazing, having been an installer I have used several different deadening products; dynamat, hushmat, fatmat, edead, stinger roadkill, rattletrap, and secondskin is by far the best. I will continue to use it in all of my builds. All work 100% done by me. I am planning a rebuild on my current spl vehicle and will need a large amount of second skin for the rebuild. On to the pics and vids... ARSPL finals 1st place, loudest at event(160.3) ARSPL Finals Outlaw testing in kick USACI 2x point show (3 1st place) Quad 230 kit Dash work Single din in tool box 30+ pounds of damplifier pro on loading(mic side) door Bare floor Dampilifer Pro(30+ pounds worth) Spectrum over dampilifer pro(6 coats) Spectrum close up End with a hair trick video Thanks for consideration!!!
  5. Sam shits weak.... j/k bro, love that car and cant wait for worlds!!!
  6. all i did was get a base circle about 10" diameter, and stack 4 or 5 4" mdf circles on that. then i took different some small pcv pipe to start the radius for the flare, i laid down some bondo glass and used the small pvc pipe to spread the bondo and keep the radius, to get the 1" final radius i actually used a burnt 2" voice coil, haha nice scores and love the box man edit: how'd did you do at ft. smith comp or did u go? I wish i could have gone wife had to work and i had to watch my child im not sure what was up at that show but my car was only burping a 48 and streetbeating a 45 Maybe the fact it was 115 outside might of had something to do with it, yet my truck was still loud, so probably your amp getting too hot.
  7. number 10 pan head stainless, works fine for my AQ HDC3's, I use 1.5 inch long, you can get a whole box(50) for like 5 bucks. Home depot, lowes, Ace hardware, just about any place will have them that sells lumber.
  8. The heavier the grit the better, you don't want to be there all day, I use 36 grit or 8O
  9. Interesting, always wondered, and first time hearing about this, not sure if it is true or not, but it is believable to me...
  10. I have been noticing lately with just one alt connected to the vcm, I am getting some way different readings on voltage then at my battery bank. What is going on? I havent got the DMM out yet but plan on it this weekend to see what is up and clamp my alts too, so I can see if something is going on there. I have three alts in the truck right now, one on VCM and two just on factory regulator plug. Voltage at bank will be 14.7 cold and VCM reads 15.9, once hot it will come down some but still .5 or greater difference. But here is what is weird if I plug all three alts into VCM I get exact same reading at bank, 15.0 at bank, 15.0 on VCM once hot. If I do this cold, here is the weird part, VCM reads 15.0 and bank reads 15.3 ??? LOL All bank reading are with two stinger volt meters, at two different spots in the bank, both read the exact same. So, what is going on here? LOL
  11. Can you turn the amp around so the ground is only like 6 inches long? That would BEST. Shortest ground is always BEST!!!!
  12. I personally like stinger wire, extremely flexible. Check out darvex, as they are a vendor here.
  13. Those type R's won't fit in that downfire box, and a custom built downfire can be very loud. Old shop I worked for we did a ported one with two memphis 12's on 1100D and it slammed. If you want to keep the rear seat then down fire is the way to go unless you do a blowthru.
  14. I might be getting a few of these to mess around with in the near future, 4 on an AQ1200 for starters. I think I can make em wang....LOL
  15. Sounds like he listened to my advice at showfest, that was my suggestion 4 2500s on the lvl5s. wheres the burban build?... =] Oh and upgrading to 4 RF 2500's and 4 lvl5's Here u go bro http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/107337-burban-build/
  16. If you only knew what the 15 did heads up against the dd 9500 supercharged.... You would be really impressed.
  17. I don't know.. Probably when the woofer is released or when I get my hands on a set, then you will hear all kinds of info on them.
  18. The hdc4 has a 8.5 inch spider landing that is one inch bigger then the current hdc3. It is also a different spider all together then what was used in past hdc3 line. Same basket on hdc3 and hdc4. About all I can say now and I have seen the hdc4 it is a very nice sub.
  19. I have some stinger expert roadkill if u didn't order it already.
  20. 175 is the limit, that changes things then, I thought I saw a post where PCA did a test with this and found the limit as well.
  21. Taken from the manual: Guaranteed operating range of input signal is 1.2Vrms – 125Vrms. (15,000 Watts at 1 ohm) Autoranging I did some math for ya, just a guess, if wired and 1 ohm with expectation of rise to 1.66 ohm, that would be 125/1.66 = 75 amps AC, 125* 75 = 9375 Watts, so my assumption would be it can't do over a 10k amp. But would depend on imp rise, I would think current would be more of an issue, depending on the internal resistance this puts on the amp. I know my oscope puts .5-.6 ohm load on the amp just as is.
