What ohm load would my subs be seeing?
Bakerman replied to Vitacy's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
No...protect mode b/c ur amp is seeing to low of an impedance level. Wire you subs like the picture above, and your amp will be recieving a 2ohm load. -
Clamped mine the other day...stock electrical i'm gettin 1246.xx at 2ohms.

No stupid question...thats what the forum is for...to get advice about stuff you don't know from people who do know it. -

The same ohm load as if you put all the positives to the amp, and all the negatives to the amp... Edit: 2ohm load...thats a parellell wiring, therefore you divide the ohm load of your voice coils by the number of voice coils you have. If you wire them in series, which is one positive to another negative, then the left positive and negative to the amp, then you take the ohm load of you voice coils, and multiply it by the number of voice coils...in your instance a series wiring would have an 8 ohm load. -
^^^seriously, fucking taped to the window? Fail...and as for Ebay, i wouldn't buy anything detrimental to my car's life from ebay. Maybe some wire, harnesses, etc. but these idiots who buy full exhausts, alternators, and stuff like that are asking for trouble. But yeah, this vid is kinda old, its from my last build I did, and i've sold the tahoe since then, but it was just something to start the topic off.

Okay, so everyone who has bought used cars has either heard this line, or used it themselves. Lets face it...the previous owner always seems less incompetent or more idiotic when it comes to doing certain things. I want to hear your stories of how you were taking something apart and found something stupid the last owner did to your car, that you had to take the time to fix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq0bplkNHuQ

Okay, so i've got a few links attached. Please take a few mins and look at the drivers and tell me which one you would recomend. Please note, I'm not trying to spend a fortune on these...I have a Hifonics Zues 4channel amp that is 120w RMS @ 2ohms. All the drivers below are 4 ohms...I do have some tweeters that are 4ohms, and they will be wired parellell for my 2ohm load. So, I need a 5x7 or 6x8 that is b/w 100-150w RMS that is under $50.00. So, if you know of any that aren't listed here, let me know what you got! The first two are the ones I'm seriously debating between...the only problem is the second link, the performance tekniques, it doesn't have an RMS listed...but I suppose at 500w max, they should be able to hand 120wRMS. Almani Speakers Performance Teknique Boss Red 1 Boss Red 2 Boss Black Cliff Designs Thanks in advanced to those who will give me input!

Eh, take out the cap bro...does you no good. Get you a hc600 or a 1200 if you are having problems with dimming lights and shit.

Looking for a decent 4 channel amp that is stable @ 2ohms...any suggestions?
-
The AQ1200 brother...and you could always just keep the gain down...its only like $50 more...and you can never have too much powa!
-
Currently using it in my build...just put on one layer yesterday. Go to my "re"build log below...haven't put it up yet on the build log, but it will be tomorrow. You can see the pics of it on my facebook @ www.facebook.com/bakermaninc Anyways, yeah, its just as good, when enough layers are applied. I like it better simply b/c its ALOT easier to work with!

Um...i actually clamped my AQ2200 today. BUT...I do not have great electrical...actually, its all stock. Stock electrical under the hood, and simply 0gauge CCA from the battery to the amp. I currently have it wired at 2ohms. It clamped at 1246watts...so if you figure 2200watts at 1ohm, which should mean 1100watts at 2ohms, and I got 1246watts from stock electrical...not bad.

I was just looking at the DSO NANO but its from china and its probably a piece of crap.. but Im looking at a Velleman on ebay quite a few of them on there would like to get some opinions on them though "Made In China" I'm pretty sure the chinese are the ones who founded this technology to begin with...not to mention they just simply makes electronics easier to use. But, thats your opinion. -
