  1. Didn't really have the room...i'd need to go external to get the tuning i'd need, and i just don't have the clearance for it.
  2. That smell is just the smell of a subwoofer capable of playing 200+dbz @ 32hz on about 10000watts. Thats how they smell when they break in. Just turn it up and add moar bass! EDIT: I hope this isn't a serious post...if so, i'm sorry for contributing to blowing your shit up!
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isr2G-5WSl8 Check out Trey.5 EP the freshest mixtape by my boy Trey Pound Dono
  4. ^^^any way of knowing which frequencies, or is it one of those things you just have to play around with and test out?
  5. And, look at it this way bro...if you need some extra $ for an unexpected expense (it always happens) you won't HAVE to have the AQ4x90. You can always just use the headunit for your mids/highs if need be.
  6. Thats about all we can tell you. We need more info from you...loads more info.
  7. What do you mean by that?^^^ And sorry guys for the double post...didn't mean to, lagging computers fault.
  8. Okay, this is for you guys who have been doing this for years, experience every sub, and every kind of box. I've ordered two FI BTL N2 12" subs. The website suggest 1.7cu feet to 2.5cu feet of space, tuned at 32hz, with 12 to 16sq" of port per cubic foot. On the several boxes I've built, I've always maxxxed out the cubic feet as much as possible. Now I have a Focus, and space is limited. I am trying to build a box tuned low, so I need alot of cubic feet. But, the most I can possibly get w/out having to take off panels and still have room for xtra batts and my two amps is 3.43cu feet tuned at 32.16hz with 12.76sq" of port per cubic foot. Now, I'm not worried about the tuning or port area, but I am a little worried about the cubic ft of the box. I know it is in the parameters set by the specs, just barely, but I am worried it will not achieve the deep, low bass I desire. Could someone help me out and let me know if you would recomend doing this, or if you would go a little bigger. I can achieve just a slight more bit of area, possible 4.5cu ft at the most, but then I would have to get creative with mounting the two AQ2200's and the AQ4x90. Thanks in advanced you guys...i always appreciate your knowledge and help.
  9. How do people get so much money in fines against their licensce? Is it multiple DUI's or DUS? I could understand 2g's, being that by the time you add up speeding, DUS, maybe a simple possision and reinstatement fees and such, it could add up...but over 10 stacks?
  10. Welcome to SMD. We all have greats amount of knowledge, and are very willing to help. Just ask if you don't know.

  11. Yeah...i feel like getting expelled is way more punishment then something like this shouldve gotten.
  12. I would've thrown a total Bitch Fit...I had to do like 20 hours community service once for a "noise violation" ticket that I couldn't pay. I had about 16 hours done at the local fire dept, when I got a letter in the mail to return back to court for failure to follow judges orders. Turned out the old fucker at the fire dept didn't log my hours in and report them with the judge...so when the judge called the fire chief for my hours, the chief had nothing to report. Luckily they got everything straight, and told me not to worry about the last 4 hours since they caused all the confusion.
  13. To be honest, that is something I can't tell you. Being a municipal court, the judges can pretty much do whatever they want to as they aren't held up to such standards as the judges who are in on murder cases and big drug cases. This is something you will have to be firm on. If the judge fines you, then yes...it will most likely go on your record. If he offers you otherwise, such as community service, then you have to let him know your end of the bargain, which is no criminal record. Tell him if he can't do that for you, then you want to go a different route. No use in doing all that work and it being on your record, if you can get a trial and have a chance of getting a "not guilty" in the end. Also, check with an officer or the judge and see if there is some kind of "catch all" charge. Our city has a "failure to show due care" charge, which works real simple. Someone gets a ticket or a small charge that can't show up on their record, we drop the original charge, and rewrite it for "failure to show due care". For example, a truck driver gets a "disregarding stop sign" ticket while driving his personal car...this could cause him to lose his CDL license, and his job if a charge like that is on his driving record. So, we write the "due care" ticket, and drop the "stop sign" ticket. Its a little higher fine, but the "stop sign" in not on his driving record...win-win situation. A simple possession is normally a $650 fine here...lets say I stop a nursing student and she has a dime bag on her...no biggie, I mean who hasn't smoked. She goes home for the night, and gets a small ticket...but she can be kicked out of nursing school for a charge like that. So, the charge is rewrote for a $200 "due care" and she does some community service to make up the rest...again, a win-win situation. I hope I explained that concept enough for you to understand what I am talking about. I am not very good a painting pictures with words.
  14. Yeah, I was operating under the assumption they were charging him. I am really glad you understood what I was saying, and didn't take it as me being an asshole.
  15. Of course...don't hesitate to plead not guilty. Like HT said, it gives you time to talk it out, and you can always work out a plea. But the only issue that I see arising, is that it is most likely a bench trial in municipal court. If thats the case, you enter a plea, and the judge decides right then and there. So, he would be better off asking for a jury trial, which in turn tends to give the judge the first impression that you think you didn't do anything wrong. Now, don't take my advice as you have to go in there kissing the judges ass...if this is not your style, then by all means stand up for yourself. By no means am I a pushover. I just personally think that at a young age, it would be better to kiss up to a judge for 30 mins and make him happy, and in turn you keep a clean record.
  16. Dude, don't listen to Reallunacy in your position. He is right, and knows what he's talking about, but this isn't that serious yet. People only follow that advice if they are guilty, or are innocent and facing a serious crime. Like I said, you have NOT even been charged with anything yet. But, to be completely honest, you are guilty. Just be nice, and hope the judge is having a good day. There are so many people I see in court every week facing the same or similar situations as you, that compleletly blow things out of proportion. They end up getting 30 days or worse just because they get an attitude and don't seem to see how they are wrong. Like the guy that tells the officer on camera that the dime bag in the center console is his, but when he gets to court wants to get all technical and try to accuse the officer of doing things wrong just to get off the hook. I just wanna walk up to the bench, slap the shit out of the individual, and just tell them to shut the hell up. So instead of getting a $250 fine with 30 days to pay it, they piss the judge off and he slaps the maximum on them which is like $2000 and says if you can't pay this right now, then you are going to jail for 30 days. And of course the individual doesn't pocket that much money, so they get put in the shiny bracelets and taken to jail without so much as a "have a nice day".
  17. Hey bro, I'm a cop, and I totally agree with TeamHT. Be completely honest, and don't mention a fucking word about the 3rd party buying the pill from the individual you gave it to. Stick with your original story (whether it be true or not) that your friend said he was in pain and you gave it to him, and were caught off guard by the rest of the incident. Most likely, you are required to appear because the judge will look at all the "evidence" and listen to the stories of the people that do show up. Being that it is a school day, your principle will most likely not show up anyways. If the judge feels that there is enough evidence to give you a charge, then he will place the charge on you and give you another court date. At that point is when you should lawyer up. But, from my experience, the judge will overlook the whole situation, or have you agree to some public service or a small fine...which if he does, I strongly recomend you take it. Point is, you did break the law by giving the pills out...if you disagree to take the public service or fine, then the judge will most likely see it as arrogance on cockyness, which will piss him off and wave his decision to place real charges on you...which you could be looking at 30 days or more in lockup and a criminal record for distribution of class 3 narcotics instead of 40 hours of weekend time washing firetrucks. So, in a nutshell, dress nice & look clean, talk with proper grammar, tell the truth, and take any offer the judge gives you with a smile on your face...you did break the law, and you've already admitted to it. Be grateful for whatever he gives you. Hope this was helpful.
  18. I personally say check into Alpine. They have great options all the way around, from low, mid, and high grade. You will always get what you pay for though, never forget that. And if you really want AQ, buy their amps, but not their subs. Have several friends who bought their subs and blew them within a few days...manufacturer defaults on the subs. To make it worse, customer service absolutely fucking sucks.
  19. I've had several projection tv's. They are fixable, but if you want my honest opinion, just make entertainment for yourself by watching it burn, and invest in a flatscreen.
  20. Skylar? For fucking real bro? Had no idea this was you! Wow...small fucking world. Saw the same story on your facebook earlier, and I was reading this and was like, dang this is oddly familiar!
  21. ^^^I'm no expert on ohm loads and all that, i just know how to figure them and the basics...but I don't think you can mix the loads on the outputs of the amp. Example, you can't have two of them at 2 ohms, and two at 4 ohms. Not sure if it would fry the amp, or just average out to a total 3 ohm load all around, but I'm pretty sure you can't do that safely. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
  22. torres box calculator...its on the forums, just forgot exactly which one...I think it is pinned to the top of this forum actually.
