  1. Just a quick question. Where did you get those thingymabobbers that hold the 90 degree angle on the corners for you? And what are they called?
  2. When it comes to things like glassing, body work, or building boxes, i'd try it myself over and over again until I get it right. But when it comes to parts that cost some serious money, I'm not gonna go play around and risk fucking something up. As much as I'd love to do it myself, its better to go ahead and pay a proffessional to do it right. And its even better if they let you watch, or give you a tutorial while they work!
  3. I had alpine type r's...go to my youtube and check out the vids of the two type r 12's in my tahoe. I wouldn't recomend tuning your box as low as I had mine, due to the possibility of fucking up the subs, but they were real good and took the power like a man!
  4. Ductape does not absorb liquid. The point of resin, is so the fabric can absorb it and be stronger...it will not work properly on ductape...I've tried it before. Dont Ask!
  5. "And you gonna have meat in the freezer, right thur..." Gotta love the true rednecks. You can always spot a true redneck hunter when he has the high powered rifles with no scopes. Thats how I used to roll with my 30/30.
  6. sounds good man...wouldn't change a thing, just make sure it all looks clean.
  7. "Hey hey, quit poking him" I seen this for the first time the other day...funny shit!
  8. I use flip...i like it. Its 30fps...but the Zi8 is 60fps, and I hear its better. But I just love my flip.

  10. Thanks....my dad actually bought this for me as my first vehicle while I was away one weekend on a trip. It was used as a farm truck, and was never really shown any TLC. When we first got it, it was beat to hell and back, had hardly any interior, and the paint and engine was basically shot. It had a 4.3 v-6 under the hood. But, I really loved it, and really loved the fact that my dad surprised me with it, but unfortunately never actually drove it. I was too tall and too big to be able to fit in it comfortably, and use it as a daily driver. I talked my dad into looking into imports, so we went looking at some Nissans, and ended up looking at some 300zx's. But, my dad and I agreed to rebuild it and use it as a show truck. Which, 5 years later, and alot of patience and work later, we are almost there. We've stripped it all down, used a lot of rhino lining on all the parts that take a beating, like the frame, engine bay, undercarriage, etc. Redone all the interior, gave it a new paint job, and a new engine of course. Its been alot of work, but we are making it slowly. All thats left are small odds and ends, such as door handles, weather stripping, a few interior panels, new windshield (some asshole shot it with a bb gun one night we had it under the carport) and a few other random things. Hopefully by the spring, we will have it out at some shows!

  12. Do you think I would be safer just running two subs on the amps instead of four?
  13. Actually, its two subs for one amp. I'm running 4 18's, on two amps. And yeah, the AQ's shouldn't run at all above 17v. Everytime I witnessed this, they always went into protect mode, also as soon as it dropped below 10.5, that little red light came on.
  14. Tryin to run 900amps of power. I got a 97 Tahoe, so I was thinking three 300amp alts? IDK, maybe you could help me out. What kinda price would I be looking at, and also do you know where I could find someone to fab a mounting bracket for it?
  15. Damn...thats freakin crazy. Well, thanks for all yall'z help. I guess I'll just go with the 2ohm strapped and play it safe.
  16. Thanks...i'm not looking to burp at all. I'm building the biggest wall possible tuned at around 28-30hz, so I'm looking for deep bass. I just have had an AQ2200 running daily music on .5ohms, and I was hoping that the AQ3500's would be able to do the same. I know the AQ's have had issues with the vertical mosfets breaking, and AQ not warrantying it, so I guess I don't wanna go with too much power, and have too many problems. Yeah but there is a pretty big difference in going from one amp at .5 ohm and a 3k amp at that to two 4k amps to .25 ohm each. They pull lots of current!!! And I tried to play music thru mine at .5 ohm strapped and they played for about 15 sec and then went into overcurrent mode as soon as the note changed, into protect mode and the whole time my voltage was in the 13's. yea if you need more power sell the aqs and look for something different.. maybe sound digital? cactus sounds? Can't...trying to please some sponsors, and get more, so I gotta use what they suggest. I guess I'll just go with the 2ohm strapped, and run em' like they are supposed to be.

I wouldn't think of going .5ohms strapped on music.

  19. Yeah, i got some subs in mind that can handle the 4k rms, and I got enough power to push out the on the electrical aspect. I'm gonna be running three 320 amp alternators, so I think that would cover the 900+ amp draw I'm gonna have. Like i said though, the amps run by themselves safely at .5ohms...so i was just curious if they would run strapped at a total of 1ohm safely. I've got the alternators, amps, wires, etc...i just haven't ordered the subs yet. I just wanted to make sure that they would run safely before I place my orders and decide on what ohms to get my voice coils at.
  20. Just a simple question. The AQ3500 is rated at 1ohm stable, and 2ohms with the amps strapped. Now, we all know that the AQ3500's can run at .5ohms, as long as you have a speaker that is strong enough to handle this. Now, what I'm wondering is if I strap two of them together, will it be safe to run them at 1ohm, or is there more electrical things that I'm unaware of that would cause this to be extremely dangerous?
  21. The older hardbody is a lot better looking, but i don't think the one i found is an actual yenko. Hell, the one above prolly isn't...most likely some retard that thought it would make his car faster to put the stickers on it...but it was the only pic i could find of one.
  22. Ill save you the worry of the pictures. They are rare, so its prolly one the guy built himself, and not an actual Yenko...but I personally think they are ugly as shit.
  23. Um, yeah...don't do that. Looks like a shitty install, and will get you negative brownie points.
