  1. from what I hear, aeroports are more efficient. I have a difficult time getting one to work though without putting A LOT of exterior port to my box. I think it's easier to do aero's on boxes that you have more room to work with, as opposed to small boxes like mine (1.9 cubs for a single 12 tuned to 34 Hz)
  2. damn that's sexy, just one question though, what's with the seatbelts?
  3. Nothing fancy but it performed VERY well for one 12 and 275wrms. It metered at 134.9 db
  4. hahahaha thanks for the help guys. I'm starting to get the hang of it, but there's always the little stuff that you can't find just anywhere. SMD FTMFW Time to build. I'm going to use birch ply and some REAL tools this time
  5. run the place yourself lol, some people stop giving 2 shits once they get a high position because they think they're untouchable
  6. lol at the google sketchup. I'm going to school for mechanical engineering technology lol. I'll just use inventor or Pro/Engineer. IMO they are easier to use because I've been using them for the past 3 years lolBut I'll try to make a quick sketch at work on my lunch break some time and post it. I just did hand sketches last time and that seemed to work pretty well for me
  7. I took your advice and made a couple changes. No more 45's (except for port) and changed diameter of dowel rods to 1 3/8" instead of 3/4" Tell me what you think now please
  8. you must be proud of that. That looks great and sound like it's LOUD!!! I'm tuned in
  9. EL OH FUCKIN EL, I love it. I think you "cooked" that sub
  10. You've got some skills with photoshop. wanna do a couple for DC audio too???? hahaha
  11. whattttttttt!!!!!! a single SA-15 on 3000wrms is nuts man. You might be able to get your hands on either 2 dc lvl 4XL m1's or 2 dc lvl 4 m2's and they should do pretty well. They might be underpowered though
  12. I'm tempted to use this and I don't even have Fi audio lol. DC needs to do a wallpaper like this.... I can't have the DC girl posing naked on my work desktop lol looks sickkkkk. what program do you use
  13. doesn't torres consider the extra baffle when finding net volume? and I was going to use 45's to brace the corners, but do you think resining the inside and dowel rods will be enough? the bigger box will make for louder lows?
  14. lololol. It's unbelieveable what some people will tell you in order to put an extra dollar in their pocket
  15. I plan on useing a double baffle and two 3/4" dowel rods for bracing. I also compensated for 45s in each corner Edit: It's for on 12" DC lvl 4 on about 1500wrms
  16. oh shit, you are not f***ing around, are you? looks good lololol I know how it feels, I just sold my sub to make way for my new oneI'm assuming that you have some sundown subs going in there judging by your sundown sticker?
  17. this doesn't look like a build log lol. maybe do a double baffle instead or use a larger diameter screw
  18. damn dude, I see this and it makes me glad to live in PA, that shit scares me lol. I don't know how would would get around in weather like that unless you have a lifted truck
  19. Thanks for the help, and Kranny, it WAS right after I turned the car off so that might be an issue. I will also unplug the alt and see how that goes. If it runs good then I know what the problem is. Great advice Kranny. I will put the battery on the charger/maintainer tomorrow, it's too late right now and I've got work in the morning. Thanks kickass, I'll try the battery trick
  20. I hooked up my DMM to te battery and I saw voltage dropping down to 10 and 11 volts when revving the engine. I'm going to do some tests and try unhooking the big 3 and see if that helps at all. I hooked up my larger marine grade battery and I saw improvements but I think that might have been because it was a larger and newer battery Edit: as for grounds, I did the big 3 but I need to make the ground on the block better. Ground on the chassis was done pretty well with a wire brush attachment and a power drill
  21. lol, I like that idea. I'm constantly learning more on this forum. Thanks for all your help and recommendations. I'll DEFINITELY get the pcm bypass for sure when I upgrade alts
  22. I don't plan on running a 16 or 18v system. I'm not running enough power to do that. I'm just getting an SAZ-1500D to power my sub. Thanks for that advice, is the PCM usually a part of the alt?
