I can't drink captain morgan for that same reason.... used to be my drink of choice for a whole year before I got stupid and drank too much... SMH college does that shit to you

What size speaker wire did you use to power the sub?

When I see builds like this, or other people's builds I die a little every time I get in my car I have a horrible "prarie tan" interior and everything is rounded out and bubbly... fuckin 90's cars... I'll just make it loud enough that I don't realize that I'm driving a ford escort zx2 lol. Just did a build today in my friends RSX. He gave me a budget of $500.... for everyting lol. So I got a double-DIN pioneer for $200, sub and amp (craigslist FTMFW) for $100, fosgate mids for $200, and wiring/adapers for $40. I did a pretty damn good job lol. Anyway it's so clean and fresh, I want a newer car

I just realized that I have the same thing in my car. In 1998 it was fully loaded and even had a "premium" sound system lol. I did notice wires running to it so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a subwoofer but I'm not really sure right now

I want to use the current box that I have and I don't want to sacrifice so much trunk space. I tried a test fit for 2 12's and it's pretty rough right now :/ maybe later when I have more money

are those the CF dustcap subs?Edit: I already looked at what he had. It looks nice and all but It's cheaper without the CF dustcaps. I would rather find some m1 XL's without CF dustcap to save money

was it a "premium" sound system before you made modifications to it? it might be possible that the stock HU was running a 5.1 or 6.1 system and had a HPF and LPF built into the HU

running it at a higher impedence should increase efficiency.... so you SHOULD see a little better results at 1500wrms @4ohms than 1500wrms @1ohm Like everyone said, it'll be really expensive and not worth it. just stick with a 1ohm load

This sounds like an easier idea, I haven't heard of foam-backed material. If you find somewhere that sells it then let us know because that would be awesome

volt meter for sure and get the big 3 done unless it's already done

use a voltmeter on the amp and measure the voltage. mine gets about 11.5 volts but still runs. see what it's at now and get back to us. it it's still a good voltage then you want to look at another solution. how is your ground? is it sanded down really well?

You should perform the big 3, that might be just enough to stop it from cutting out :/ otherwise you should look into wiring a battery in the trunk. that will at least keep the voltage up long enough and not drain your car (unless you play full tilt everywhere you go)

Some amps will shut off if the voltage drops below a certain limit. That's my guess. I'm running 500wrms on stock 90amp alternator and I'm seeing voltage drop, but it's just enough power that it doesn't drain my battery or drop the voltage too much
