  1. I think thats correct from what I always heard. like wiring two 4 ohm coils parallel making it 2 ohms, same type of deal for wire. But you also go by strand count. Theres a lot of companies that claim their wire to be 1/0 gauge and after looking at the strand count of the cheap wire, then compairing the cheap 1/0 gauge strand count to companies like stinger or rockford, you will notice that this cheap 1/0 gauge wire has the same strand count as a quality companies 4 gauge. The cheaper companys just put a bigger rubber insulator around the wire to try and fool you  If you got the extra 25 feet of 4gauge, and you dont want to spend money for 1/0 you might as well run it. It will result in less resistence giving you better electrical flow which is always a plus. So you wont be hurting your stereo or electrical system none, you will be making it more stable I think someplace on the smd site there is a wiring guide stickied. I think its in the wiring forum. But it will give you a general rule of thumb for wiring sizes broke down into how many watts your running, and the length of the cable you will be needing, which results in what size wire you need. Actuly it was a quick find. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=1005 4 gauge: ~140 amperes Class D (~70% efficiency) - <1400 watts Class A/B (~50% efficiency) - <1000 watts The average lenth of a power wire is around 18 feet. But say you need 30 feet, then id sugust stepping up to 2 gauge since the extra length in wire will raise resistance which means your amp is not getting the current it needs as fast as it needs it.
  2. hehehe I am special, I only got 36 pages I found it easier to apply the maxium posts per page then the 10 or 20 that is the stock setting in my control panel. Takes a tad long to load, but it beats click next 20 million times trying to find the last post you read.
  3. I honestly dont see line drivers helping. I have a audio control line driver that came with my car. Tried it on a few different amps. The only thing I noticed is it gives you a higher rca input voltage, which in return a lower amp gain. I ran it on my kicker 1200.1, interfire 2900, spl dynamics, and my buddys audiobahn 2300 when I borrowed it. I noticed no difference with the gains set properly. If your not using a line driver and you have 2volt preamps, then you match your gain on the amp too 2 volts. If you got a 2volt preamps and say an audio control line driver set at 5 volts, you match your gains to 5 volts. Either way your going to be having the same amperage draw on your electrical system, and the same rms wattage comming out of your amp, and your amp will be working just the same. If you have a low voltage preamp outputs on your deck and your gain on your amp jacked all up high, BUT at the correct setting (and tested with a dmm) you wont be hurting your amp(s). Theres only 2 ways I can see a line driver worth the money. 1) You have some cheap or old headunit and have like .5 volt preamp out puts. Then Id say buy one, but most likely you would be better off spending that cash on a new head unit. 2) You are running a multiable amp set up, and the amps are not linkable or strappable. Using rca Y adapaters one after another splicing the signal, will end up in a lower signal when you would want a line driver to increase that signal. Linkable and strappable amps have rca inputs and outputs, and from what I know the output voltage is the same as the input voltage from one amp to another. If your looking at buying one. Ill sell you my audiocontrol overdrive. I think its $100.00 new. Give me a decent offer on it and include the shipping on it from zip 53083. Its in decent condition, and I can take pics of it if anyone is interested.
  4. Personally Id go for the 250w amp, its only $75 more and almost triple the power. It also leaves you room to upgrade. But I dont get what your really wanting to do besides make a computer stereo. My pc is also wired in to my home stereo and tv. Both those amps are only monoblocks (1channel) so how you would run a stereo left and right off one amp is beyond me unless you buy 2 amps, one for left speaker, one for right speaker, and then a third for the sub. After spending all that money on those amps, I think you would be better to go out and buy a nice home reciever. I know that some onkyo's can bang all day at a 2 ohm stereo. I almost shit when my friend told me that, I had to read it in his manual to believe it.
  5. That would make sense I didnt look for a location of the site, or even know it was a non us forum. I just seen everyone use $ signs, and when I see $ I think US money Yea, them prices are stil a bit more. The guy that is selling his DD9515 for $4000 is actually $637.96 USA Monies, Which is getting close to the Retail price here.

So I continue browsing this forums classifieds and find even more rediculous prices... Its just so funny looking at these prices for used gear... ROFLMAO http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=149179 This guy has two 8"eminence betas asking $500... http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=148561 Audiobahn Dual 10" Subwoofers & bandpass box. $900.00 http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=149927 I gotta rockford 15" T2 for sale. 8. LoL..... You are still downloading music illegally! Your just being a sucker for giving bearshare money. All you are doing is paying for their softwear.. If you where smart, you would download the free trial from their site, then search for the most recent bearshare pro on bearshares own network and download it for free... How can I put this. Any company that offers a peer2peer sharing network for free that you can download music from without any type of subscription is illegal. Now if they also offer a pro/lite version at a cost (monthly fee's or a one time fee) is also illegal. Why? Because that company is already providing illegal content with the free version. So when you are giving these such companies money you are pretty much legally saying that you support illegal file sharing. The companies just say that if you buy the software you can legally download music to get your money. Just like they say that with the bought software you will get more search results, faster downloads and whatever else. Its kind of like cheap audio companies advertising their PEAK wattage when in reality the only way you will get 1600 watts out of your 4 channel sony xplode amp is if lightning strikes it. Id honestly have to say that Itunes is the biggest legal program. Napster use to be an illegal p2p network. They also got in a bit of trouble if I remember correctly. I also remember downloading music from them 7 years ago on dial up. Now if you goto napsters site the only thing you get is a 7 day free trial, and in order to do that you have to have some sort of payment information (such as a credit card) on file before you can even download the program. This way if you dont cancel your 7 day free trial, they start charging your card, even if you dont use it and have deleted the program. As someone said that they can not find old school music or other types of music on napster is because napster could not buy the rights to those peoples songs/albums. Illegal p2p networks below: ares/galaxy bearshare edonkey emule imesh kazaa limewire morpheus shareaza winmx plus many more. Think about it this way. Bearshare would be losing money if the paid version was legal because you can download a unlimited number of songs for just $7. Because you can easily download 1000+ songs in a month, and lets say that the rights only cost $0.10 per song (which is cheap compaired to Itunes $0.99 a song) it would cost you $100 ( or $990 for Itunes). With that also being said, Itunes would lose so much business because of their competitiors cheap pricing. BUT Itunes is on top of the legal download of songs because they are actually a Legal company. Final thought: If you are so confident that because you pay $7.00 monthly to bearshare to download music I dare you to call up the RIAA, give them your name, address, and then ask them if it is illegal to download music from bearshare even tho you pay them $7 a month.
  9. Props on the new welder! It looks like shes a beauty. Electric/gas for nice even smooth welds. The best part of it is that its a Miller, which are made in Wisconsin 45 minutes away from me "Steve Meade supports us Cheeseheads"  The box is looking like its really comming along now with the front and rear put together. Looks drop dead sexy! Cant wait for more pics playa Ps: Chicken is 1 lucky mofo
  10. oh yea for sure Heh I take care of my one caddy You respect them caddys and they respect you back:)The last screen I had was about 6 or 7 years ago, I was the 4th owner off a eclipse 6" fold out and it was scratched up pretty bad, and also didnt have a cd player, that was a seprate unit you had to buy. I got sick of having to use a discman with it and sold it.
  11. As someone else asked before and I dont recall seeing a answer. What is going on with the Pioneer head unit? Leaving it in, replacing it with something newer? I need to retire my 2004 alpine, and Im looking for a screen, something used but taken care of, and by the way Chickens rides look he takes care of his gear
  12. Cheap subs. Crap box. Stereo sounded louder with the door closed then open. And one hell of a ghetto looking fake 24k gold job... Looks worse then one of them 24k plating machines you can buy out of lowrider magazines. It looks so yellow not gold, and even if it was decent looking, its dont look right on that car. He also should of done the 24k job on the chevy emblems, door handles, and locks. His amp: lonoma01 (11 months ago) Show Hide Marked as spam (Reply) I have got a Boss Blade 3500 watt amp it was probaly turned half way up. It was really loud But them just my opinions. If it makes him happy more power too him
  13. Dont know about where you live, but you can be drunk underage in your own home/bar/restaurant/ where ever in Wisconsin. Theres only one catch, your parents have to buy it for you then give it to you. Cops cant do a damn thing about it unless you are being disorderly.
  14. Depending on the time, you can get your car sprayed for 300 bucks... I always see commericals on tv for the one in Milwaukee. Im not sure how to put this, but yes they do crap work. But they also do good work too. You get what you pay for. The $300 paint job Im talking about is where they dont tape off window/door seals, trim. They just paint right over it. But Ive also seen some decent paint jobs from them too. Teddy, a guy in town I know has a older (box style) caprice with 22s. Maaco painted his ride a pearl white with a electric blue flake. The paint job really sparkles and shines. I think he said it costed $1600 (which is still cheaper then a bodyshop) even tho its still not the quality of a higher priced paint shop, Id still roll with teddys paint job on my ride.
  15. sleep is for the weak I dont know if the speaker in the spare tire spot would be my thing. Its reminding me too much of the big horns people are using under their bumpers
  16. exactly. I know it aint cheap. Spl is cheap however. Id find yourself something better. W We gave you answers and said not to buy it. We asked what your buddys budget is. and you still havent answered. Most likely we can help you and your friend find a better speaker(s) for the same price. But stay away from spl. Looks aint everything, just because the sub may look to be bad ass, doesnt mean it will sound and perform like a bad ass sub.
  17. No $hit, now your talking! That would be one show I would defenetly be at!!! Steve should have his civic, hoe, chickens ext, and the lade all at sema. Most of them are all using rf gear (cept for the ext) and would really show of fi's and rf's product nicely! More info on these tweets in another post or something. Im curious on how these work P
  18. LOl wow.. that looks f**king crazy!! I like how them amps are off set like that, and it looks like youll still be able to see both pimp displays on both amps I like!!
  19. Ditto! Depending on the budget, maybe try some MA audios. PS: I really hate that spl company. They make my amp look bad because everytime someone sees my amp or asks me what I got, they go and say that shit is cheap.
  20. hotel cali ftw for sure. Kansas - dust in the wind
  21. umm yea! I can only imaging how flat your speakers sound...
