  1. Thats a nice amp! the ab 500.1 should do around 4800wrms @ 1 ohm. But id be that guy to run it at .5 ohms "with healthy electrical to back it up of coarse" Two 200.1s should be close to the same price as the 500.1, but i cant really say what your dealer is selling them for. But the american bass vfl amps quality/power/clarity wise are going to come out ontop of all the other listed amps, as well as be pretty close to sundown amps but just in a different heatsink.
  2. I think the clear winner in there is an american bass 500.1 Any American bass amps will put the other amps listed to shame in corresponding wattage classes.
  3. yea it was, I burnt my self a 4 times when they where in my hand! I was going to burn capalass but he was out of reach. Darrens cd skipped couple mroe vids.
  4. Bandwidth is the freq range that you are going to boost when using the bass boost. Im not sure what freq their bass boost inhances, but Im going to use 35hz for example. A wider bandwidth will boost from say 30hz - 40hz. Where as a narrow bandwidth would pretty much just boost 35hz. Phase - this is for changing the way the woofer hits, and used in strapping amps together. Neither of which I think your doing so leave it at 0. Sub sonic filter - This pretty much limits how low of hz the amp will play/amplify. If your using a sealed box you really dont need to use the subsonic filter, however in a port box you want to adjust the SSF to a few hz below your box tuning (or generally 29-33 hz)
  5. seen it already, and watched it like 20 times... But your avatar, that thread is effen halarious!! Great photochops in that thread!
  6. It could cause a so to say a short or a bad discharge thru out all your batteries. It can also fry your alternator. Yes autozone can test your batteries for free, but their little rinky dink machine aint nothing to brag about. and besides load testing a battery with the little 80 or 100 amps their tester does is nothing compaired to the size of your batteries output. These things they use to test your alt and batts with are made pretty much for the basic everyday average stock electrical systems, not some big bitching setup
  7. Disconnect all your batteries and check each battery seperatly. You may have a bad battery in your bank, and testing all batteries at once when they are all daisy chained together isnt going to show a bad battery. Other then that, put the batteries on a real charge, not a charge from your alternator. Then try it out again
  8. I was told that by rusty himself. So maybe he must not know about building correct boxes for his line of speakers http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/01nocomment8so.gif
  9. ^^^ and it is pretty damn loud and low!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif If i remember right the xl motor peaks out at a little below 4000watts, so giving it anything more then that is just going to cause heat.
  10. Most should be processed, and some are already aval in hq. His truck was moving some good air too, sounded way louder then what it metered, but low tuning ftw!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXLdzNrWpY0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpTuxstNEdo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idVcgThG7sY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPm7YcMe0KQ
  11. 1.5 ohm per coil. had to run off 2 different circuit breakers, I want to say they where 40 amp breakers. at .75 ohm a single breaker would pop after 12 seconds or so.
  12. very clean box for your first one! Even the sub hole looks round and you cut that with a jig saw? Good job!!
  13. Looks nice. Any more pics and vids mang? Looks like your voltage is pretty consistant and stays up pretty nice too. what kinda alt setup?
  14. Nice looking shop you got to work worth their!! And your jack looks very familer!! This is just a friends shop that I get to use for repair work after hours. I believe the left hoist is the same as yours. They sure are wonderful!!
  15. I remember steve wallsocketed a fi for like 20 seconds or whatever, And I knew i took video of my sub on a wall socket, I just couldnt remember where I uploaded the video. I probolly had this thing plugged in for close to 20 minutes and it was doing nothing so I didnt upload a full video of buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz but here it is on my myspace page http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoID=44270091 PS: DD<FI.
  16. mmm beer. crack bad anyways. lol
  17. just a disappointment i guess, I was really looking forward to a hit from that crack pipe
  18. seems highly doubtful after reading his signature...
  19. Can I hit your crack pipe too? :01nocomment8so: You need to use 3/4 inch mdf, or 3/4 inch birch (which is stonger, denser, lighter then mdf. But costs about 20$ more per sheet).
  20. Looks good mang. and i agree with mr.p, you need a second 4000watt amp Do I spy a audiobling amp?!?!? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif
  21. Most likely the rockford amp is refurbed by rockford, and tested to be in good working order. And if you buy the audiopipe 1800, it may come close to the power the rf will do. Lol Where as the hifonics could of been refurbed or fixed anywhere with a crap repair job. I know of one maybe old hifonics auth service centers and their repair abilitys are a joke......
