There is also Dekota digital too that offers full out one off customs as well as just stand alone gauges. However these gauges or even auto meter gauges will not be cheap. Most of it is due to needing special sensors in most cases that come with the gauge along with the harness's. The stereo shop I work for is also a speedshop that sells hot rod, racing, nos and just about everything else to make your car fast, or give you the proper parts.. These gauges are not cheap, and anything you will find will be very pricey. But IMO if your uncle is a drag racer and has a vette all done up for the strip he should know these things are not cheap, and either sent you on a wild goose chase, or is just a tight wad.

Ive been to a lot of different DB Drag/Meca/USACi comps in many different states, with many different elevations with a handful of different judges and always posted the same score as my normal with .2db. Even using various friends meters I never see more then a .2db change in my scores. I think one of these guys may have the Kfactor set wrong on their Termlab to be .5 to 1 db variation between meters Good score none the less with a single sub in a trunk, but that huge difference you said is oddly strange to me lol

um yes you do.... when you take off the little black cover there is a blue and white adjustment screw to calibrate the volt meter...

The use of 1 less woofer and most likely a higher impedance rise due to the fact of been 1 woofer down does not mean more power in any way shape or form. The tad more power that the woofers could possibly see is almost simultaneously gone due to the fact of having a hotter voice coils with 2 subs vs 3 and having a much larger impedance rise caused by the heat.

Also for the original poster.. Bassboost is generally intended to give you more bass at lower volume levels, when your running full tilt (even with a properly set gain) and add bassboost to it, you start to clip your woofers, and cause more heat. Bassboost will not make your full tilt volume any louder to the ear or spl meter so the point in using it is senseless

FYI: Derrick did have sub failure not to long ago, and was waiting on recones last week when I talked to him. However when I got to hear his ride at slamology, his stetsom 7k should of been renamed a clipsom, because that light was on 24/7 LOL but it still pounded like a champ!!

You will be perfectly fine under powering a subwoofer or any other sort of speaker.. Any time you turn the volume down on the radio every speaker becomes under powered (even if it has the correct size amp its rated for). The only way you can and will blow the woofer by underpowering it is by not properly setting the gain, bassboost, subsonic filter, low pass filter and any other thing on the amp. Thus meaning turning the gain all the way up (to make it sound louder) will hurt the woofer/speaker and cause clipping in return causes an added build up of heat around the voice coil, limited xmax and improper cooling, which will result in a blown woofer.

Yes the show is in hammond indiana tomorrow. right over the IL boarder by 1.9 miles or something.. Lol but it was originally scheduled for waukegan Il, but city denied it. Its really the same concept, only you have head to head compeition. you vs another. much more fun! It follows a bracket type ordeal. so you go qualify in the morning, then after qualifiny your randomly picked to go against another person in your class, and you keep going against another until there are no more left in your class. Highest score moves on to the next round. but if you dont like competition, then usaci is a great place to start where your almost never against another vehicle, and you pay 25-30 bucks to roll up to the meter 1 or 2 times, when db drag gives you head to head compeition and more sportsman ship. youll see the 15th in milwaukee. Ill be there, just not for usaci most likely since a guy cheated against me 2 days in a roll, and usaci said he cheated with twice the power for his class, but yet wouldnt take away his points or placements he took. pretty shitty that they let people cheat with no consequences.

The db drag judge is my friend, and the meca judge is my part time boss which is riding with me since I am going to compete, and he needs to judge meca... I havent heard from either of those 2 about this being cancelled at all! The show is still a go in Hammond IL! Usac shows suck... they are boring. There will be db drag/bassrace (and maybe meca) offered at the perfect touch show in south milwauke at the perfect touch event(same db drag judge as the caco show in hammond indiana tomorrow). The usaci is a seperate format with a different judge, but at the same location.. He holds like 15 shows a year at perfect touch, but theres maybe 10 cars tops that goto his shows it seems, unless db drag is there also then he may get 15. Lol

Yea.. This should be a very good event, unlike the greg zoller event at slamology... This is a different judge, a real db drag judge that judges world finals, unlike greg zoller.. And you can actually here your name called on his PA system unlike greg zollers rinky dink setup lol

Just something new I came across. Think its been out for a little while now, and a select few cell phones have it I believe tho not certain. It looks like a cool way to text on touch screen phones that do not have a qwerty keyboard (like the Iphones, droids, and many others) Pretty simple, and I think there is a beta version currently available.
