You can find them a little cheaper on ebay. I've done quite a few installs with them. Overall a very nice set.

  2. System of the Month only has 16 entries this month with $150 on the line out of my own pocket. If it isn't appreciated, then SOTM will soon disappear. I hate wasting time, money and bandwith if nobody is interested.

I think it more of a perfect storm of events right now that has the build slowing down. You have all the big builds finishing up for finals, and a good amount of smaller builds are going back to school. Free time / free money is tight these next few months

  3. So my friend's head unit was cutting out at high volume. Stock wiring wasn't enough. 10ga power and ground. Yup that did it. Not excessive at all

While it may have fixed the apparent issue. It doesn't address the issue as a whole system. If your power draw is so great, that it chokes out other electrical in the car, then just imagine how the rest of the factory components like the voltage drop. I wouldn't want to chance my CPU and other important and expensive gear with hard voltage drops.

No reason to "upgrade" the connections for a headunit in a dash. If a deck is cutting in and out, the issue is with in the charging system as a whole OR bad connections from the installer ;) The whopping 15a it pulls should never be an issue for and factory wire harness.

Deck, Wiring, Batteries and Subs are here. Amp has been ordered. Pair of lvl5 18's that have been collecting dust for the past 4 years should do the trick. 4 3100's to power a dc 3.5k. enough power to allow me a good size box to get stupid with. finally put to use the 300+ SF of second skin the truck has in it.

Come to realize that what I want to build and what I have the funds to build is too much of a gap. Tired of being bass less.

  12. why the fuck do so many people want their system to be heard outside of the car? wanna get attention drawn to you and get your shit stolen then by all means do it, stupidest shit i've ever heard, the point is to keep the sound in your car not out.

  13. Seriously trying to understand why I continue in this hobby. It is more bitter than sweet building for others. Sure it's nice to say heres another 150+ daily driver, have a nice day. But at the end of the day, it's not mine. Everyday I get further from my personal goal. Comes to a point when if it's too sour, maybe it's time to toss it out and find something else to do. I don't enjoy seeing my goals slip away, even when I lower the bar to make it that much easier to achiev...

Mine has always been "in the works" with continued setbacks, it's making my dream more and more unattainable. Getting to a point where you say fuck it. time for a new lifestyle. this one ain't working out to well

  16. the thing that I hate the most about an "SQ" setup is keeping the door panels from rattling/resonating when you have a very powerful set of components in them

It's a combo of different materials. Deadner, open cell, closed cell etc to get what you are looking to do. Each product is designed to work with a range of noises

10 years in my house before I got the bright idea to put a window in the back. Now i have this wonderful cross flow on those hot days. I still look at it a year later and call myself a dumbass for not doing it sooner.

  18. Is there a way to seal off a wall without expanding foam? Like build a tight fitting beauty baffle with foam on the edges or something?

    1. kingsuv

      kingsuv

If you have built a wall, then sealing it off should be pretty easy ;)
