  1. Well if you are a carpenter, then you usually aren't going to know plumbing, or hvac. Or if your an iron worker, you most likely won't have any knowledge about runing heavy equipment. There's many different fields in construction, and most people don't "do it all" but rather focus on one field of expertise.
  2. Well like I said, go to jobsites and tell them you are willing to do anything, and you will work for cheap. Just keep applying anywhere and everywhere and something will come along.
  3. The suburban was a 2500 series with the 454 big block in it. It DEFINITLY was capable of pulling the trailer with a Tahoe on it. I'm not going to help pay for anything cause I'm not sure how he drove the vehicle and I'm really not in a financial position to be doing that anyway. The more I think about it the less I feel bad now.
  4. If your just starting you might have a tough time in construction. There are a lot of experienced workers that are unemployed cause construction just isn't doing much right now. I don't mean to discourage you just tryin to be real. But if you get out there and go visit some construction sites ( im not sure what kind of construction you know) you can talk with the foreman or superintendent on site and let them know your looking for work. If you bug them enough they will remember you and theres a chance they will think of "that kid who kept bugging me" when it comes time to hire. That's the way it works a lot of times in my field (heavy equipment operator). Good luck bro!
  5. Yea I see your point. I'll have to wait and see how she acts toward me after she calms down. I have a feeling that her boyfriend drove it too hard before properly getting a feel for it's capabilitys first. I haven't driven it in a while cause we had bought a newer Tahoe a couple months back. And the first time they drive it they pull a car trailer with a Tahoe on it. I dunno for all I know, he drove it into the ground.
  6. Well the only reason I feel bad is cause she seemed real upset about it and I think the friendship is done. But I completely agree that its out of my control and, hey, shit happens. And your right I never had any problems with it while I had it. I'm a mechanic myself and I can honestly say that there was nothing showing any signs of imminent failure.
  7. Well yesterday I sold my 1994 chevy suburban to a friend and her boyfriend. It had always been a good car to my wife and me with no major problems the whole time we owned it. My friends boyfriend rebuilds transmissions for a living and seemed to know his stuff after talking with him a bit. The deal ended up closing at about 10:40 PM last night (6/18) and they drove off happy to have another vehicle. Well this morning I'm on facebook and I see a post from my friend saying she's never gonna buy a used car without a warranty again. So I text her asking what happened and she tells me that they drive to Laguna Hills to tow a Tahoe up to Hesperia and it starts shifting weird on them so the take it to a nearby jiffy lube and have all the fluids changed on it. Then she tells me they go to leave the house they are picking up the Tahoe from and they can't even start the vehicle anymore, so they now have to tow it home. What bothers me is that I feel bad that I sold a car to a friend that put them in that situation. The friendship is probably gone and I made a whole $2400 out of the deal. So I guess the moral of the story is, don't sell old cars to friends cause ANYTHING can happen. Sorry for the long rant, I just thought I was selling a decent car to a friend, but now I feel like I sold my friendship for $2400 bucks.
  8. Rumors are pinning it at September, but most are thinking it's just gonna be a slight hardware upgrade. Things like a faster processor and upgraded camera. But the iPhone 4 is a very capable phone. If I were you I'd get the 4 now and then use it till iPhone 6 (or whatever they are gonna call it) comes out so you can get that one cause it will most likely be a better hardware upgrade. Plus iOS 5 is gonna be a major software upgrade along with icloud. Just my 2cents
  9. I got my copy on eBay for 70 bucks shipped, and it included a couple extra bonus disks and a recipe book too. Not to bad of a deal
  10. Ive been doing insanity off and on for a while now and can say it works. My bro in law was recommended it by his personal trainer at the gym, and he swore by it. If you stick with it you will see results.
  11. Well if your Alts combined put out more than 500 I would say go for three runs, but if that's just the current draw from the amps then you should be fine with 2.
  12. 1/0 wire is generally rated for 300A (some wires are diff, but this seems to be the norm) so if your equipment draw is close to, or over that, then you need another (or more) runs of 1/0.
  13. Yea repost, but crazy nonetheless!
  14. Yea I'm lookin forward to the new season. When the show first came out I figured it wouldn't last that long cause it's the same thing over and over again...boy was I wrong!
  15. Here's a link to the rules of the site, might wanna read em... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules
  16. funny how he only barks when his head pops over!
  17. I say go for it, worst case scenario is you don't like it or it doesn't sound good and you take it out.
  18. Yea I'd like to see the reasoning behind his statement. I have inverted subs and never heard an audible difference from doing so. Plus I can own a top fuel funny car, but not understand why it makes 8000 HP. I like that analogy about the funny car. Raises a great point... Whether i understand why it makes so much power i still have the common sense not to drive the car in reverse down the track the quickest! And I always put my parachute on the front or the rear of the vehicle? lol I forget.... But then again maybe i am not a total idiot either and understand the working of an internal combustion engine and i just have a real bad sense of direction? Good point! And I hope you took no offense to my post, meant no disrespect at all I didn't understand the difference till you explained it a few posts ago. It was such an easy explanation I'm surprised more people don't realize the difference! Thanks for clearing it up without all the B.S.... No not at all, i just had to make a funny post to lighten the mood. I hope you understand that i am a accomplished competitor who understands this stuff quite well and has mad skills building and designing both enclosures and woofers! I am a one man band, but i have been best of friends with Team Riprock for a very long time. I shouldnt have to tell anyone that these guys are probably the smartest SPL competitors in the world!!! Everything i know i have picked up from them. Well now I know who you are I have only been around here for a bit so I am still learning who is who. I'd love to see some of your work if you have any links
  19. Holy butfuk a drunk nun!! This is gonna be off the charts. Hell I thought the 9 15"s were off the charts! Can't wait for some build pics!!
  20. Hey different strokes for different folks, but I'm a lil confused why the boots came into discussion? Lol Edit- nevermind he explained before I could post, damn ninja in croc skin boots!
