You don't even have to have a system for your car to shock you. It normally happens when the weather is colder. All you have to do is when you get out of the car touch the metal part of the door with your key and you should see a spark but you will not feel it!!! Gotta discharge yourself.

Charging The Optima Yellow Top
mrrairai replied to missinglink's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Damn King. I had my Optimas since like 2000 or 2001 and when I pulled them out a few months back they only sat at 12.57 and 12.66 so I figured they did an ok job for me. I don't have anything bad to say about them....they just can't compete with newer batts that are on the market. Yeah Meade, I learned this the hard way. Dom school me on this one day while we were on the phone and I been good every since. -

I guess I'm late but I was gonna say that your alt is bad. I had that same problem a few years back with the same symptoms on my Expedition. Glad you got in contact so you can get it taken care of. I always keep my stock alt handy just in case tho.

Running Different Batteries
mrrairai replied to kentb's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
MLA, I've been saying that for the longest. Some people don't look to see where their factory ground is connected to. IMO, ground is ground is ground is ground. as long as you upgrade the stock wiring there's no need to run a wire all the way from the front battery to the back battery. -
Really I don't think there really is a number. I used some for my subs because IMO it looks clean as hell.

I Thought I Had Decided
mrrairai replied to A&W ROOTBEER's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
A&W, that module is so easy to install. It took me about 20 minutes and that was because I was paying more attention to my beer than installing the module. Also it takes longer to clean up the wiring then it does to hook the module up. Trust me....its worth it. The directions that MLA sends are so dead on that you'll have no worries. -
Been Noticing More And More Poeple With Rockford Components?
mrrairai replied to pk222's topic in Mid's and highs
I paid $180 apiece for my 2 sets of T162S power components and bought from authorized dealer. -
Actually the same RJ-45 cable that was used for my 1050s also works for my T40001.

Getting Metered On Saturday
mrrairai replied to bigeasy79's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Where they doing this at?? I might have to take a ride down 58 and hit NC. -
I have one of the old RF bass couplers that I used for my 2 1050s but I'm not sure if it'll work for the para-punch knobs.

D3100 Under The Hood
mrrairai replied to mrrairai's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Sounds interesting. I'm gonna have to take a look at that. Could save a lot of space. Closes fine man. The inside of the hood gives me about another 1 to 1 1/2 inch of clearance. -
That's really not high priced. The link you gave only have the solenoid but the link my man posted comes with wire, fuse holders, etc.
