im not sold on batts yet so im not sure. that will be my last purchase. but no matter what i do i will be able to get up to 15.7-9 to get the most out of the amps Nop XLs...the new ones whenever they get here are ordered and paid for they will be built up big time...like i said before they will NEVER get played on music that loud because i doubt that can feel good if i get where i want to be, and last safeguard is they will be wired at 1 ohm each for a daily and then .5 for comp or testing purposed. My box will be small anyway to build the box how i have it in my head itll be plenty small with the additional suspension to the subs i think itll be ok at 1 ohm so they would each see "3500" or so which will be fine i think There are a few people out there that run that much power to xls i mean honestly rob had a ab1100.1 on one xl when he first got the crx haha didnt last too long, i had strapped 3.5s on an xl for a while, and there is some other people whos names escape me that have either 9.0s or extremely simular amps on 2 xls.

yup that was THREE. I have my old one from my last build in my truck now and one sitting my pool table room right new to my 175.4s and 2.0 (for my 4 lvl 2 8s which will be mid bass) so thats about all anyone will get for a preview of this build until it starts pretty soon. i figure my burp scores will be pretty high (LOL) and itll be to the point that i wont be able to listen to it at full tilt or close on a daily basis...this will be in my daily truck...so i wont have to worry about fucking them up to much though im sure itll happen I have a volt module from xs power on the way and i will be up there if you say 15.9 is best ill take that and run with it lol i do not think ill be able to have no drop with them lol there will be some but ill do my best (i have a 496 so 2 alts is it in there and ill be compensating with batts and batts and batts in the bed)

i built this last weekend. lvl 4 18s and it was sealed cause the customer had to have sealed. it sounded great to be honest...it caught me off guard and i was really surprised as to how hard it hit. plus the crispness it was great. the subs are good sq subs even in the right ported box so in a sealed they are awesome. i would suggest it... i hope this helps

no they are not yet. They have lvl 4s though

also the 2.0 has a clipping indicator and the 1.2 doesnt. This really only depends on your level of knowledge, if you dont know much the clipping light is a great thing so you dont smoke those subs. i would do the 2.0 for sure though those lvl 3s will come alive

I have a dc audio 12k for sale. I bought it on august 11th 2011 and it was put in a few days after that. So it is currently less than 3 months old. It was wired to .5 ohm (which it is stable to) and run on 14.4-7 volts and never dropped under 13 volts while playing at full tilt. It is 10/10 in functionality. 9/10 on cosmetics This amp smashed on my 4 XL 15s all day and i have NO complaints about the amp what so ever i loved every second of it. i would do the XLs on that power. from what ive found the lvl 5s that i had liked AT LEAST 3000+ each I have 4 XLs on a 12k now at 15.2 volts and .5 ohm so they are seeing some decent power and dont get stinky or anything

100% agree with this. those boxes do suck to build from scratch and if you havent built one before i wouldnt suggest it. Now if you do want to build one yourself draw it all out and get a rough design (thats what i do) then worry about cuts once its there laid out for you. Or you could buy a prefab box like he said, then work out the cubes it has and the displacement you will have and port it yourself. Throw a few 4" pieces of tubing in there and call it good. Wont take you more than 30 minutes (TOPS) of work time when you could spend more than all day on that box with your experience you know? Hope this helps

Im looking into walling my 4 door full size GMC sierra and with the correct cubes i need i cannot fit 4 18s in there (they will need somewhere near 24 cubes after displacements. when you get a port big enough to do at least 13 inches per cube it wont happen in that car. even when you run that power and shrink the box it wont work. there is not enough space to get all the subs forward and the port being big enough. then that big of a port will be displacing at least 6-7 cubes from the box then each sub is .26 so atleast 8 cubes displacement excluding bracing you will need. also itll have to be minimum 3 layers think. I just dont see it happening honestly theres just no room. 2 18s yes 4 not likely

whats funny is i saw these at DC and thought that they just happened to have the 12" baskets sitting up on the lvl 6 motor and didnt even bother to ask the most obvious question which is REALLY?? they looked cool just sitting up there but they look way better built congrats man they are awesome

i have played with many boxes in those trucks (i have basically the same one) and i dont think that it would be enough air space (correctly) back there for 3 of them back there and being ported. Seeing that they need .8 per sub and each sub displaces like .1 so .9 per sub then subtract the port displacement from that i do not think you can be near 2.4 internal. I do know that it also depends on what power you run to them etc but there isnt much room back there. Maybe because you are going 24 tall with it that may make it possible but itll be super close if it is. I just put 2 in the back of a guys silverado 4 door (i wasnt going 24 tall with it) and it was really close to be able to port them...actually they ended up at .65 each after displacements. in his set up they couldnt move to their full potential because of the seat so it sounded a little muffled to me from back there with the seats up. it was a totally different system with the seats down. Just some food for thought man i hope it comes out sick lol those 8s are awesome

I personally would not worry about it. The amp wont put out the 1500 realistically. it also depends on what hifonics amp you speak of because some of them are not RMS rated and some are so it would depend. But in the end i wouldnt worry about it

I have a bunch of old speakers in my truck and i think its time to do any with them and upgrade to something better. The guidelines i have are very easy less than 150 a set due to the fact i will be buying at least 4 sets to start I just want something that is clean and gonna get loud enough to hear the mids and highs over the bass CLEARLY. I will be needing 2 sets of 6.5s and 2 sets of 4" (both components...i know 4" components are next to impossible to find but i thought id ask maybe you know something i dont) if the 4s are impossible then 2 sets of 5.25s components will have to do and hopefully ill be able to make them work. I want to keep the brands and model of speakers the same. Due to my box design which blocks the rear speakers i will be scrapping those and just doing 2 in each from door pod and 2 in each pillar. So i will have an amp for the pillars and an amp for the front doors. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have a dual alt bracket in my 03 Sierra, and have my alts separated also, I dont know where you are ordering your bracket from by i got mine from DC Power and it came with all the wiring and everything else you need to separate them. You just take the wire that reads to voltage to your rear batt or the terminal on you t2500 and itll charge due to the power that it has there instead of the trucks alt and batt voltage. Hope this helps

If you gave us some more info on where all of your setting are on your HU and where your knobs on your amp are that would be very helpful. It more than likely has to do with those setting. Keep your gains low, loudness off, source level on 0 etc. Dont amplify the signal your amp sees and you wont get that clip.

I think we will go with the rockford...he has a lanzar mini max 1000 watt right now that we had on there when it had a shitty 10 but its not really doing much for the dc 8 lol maybe 200 tops rms from that thing. I need to get a nano/mini amp for a system im putting on a street bike with a dc audio 8 and rockford mids Criteria: Less than $200 but all reasonable options will be considered It needs to do at least 300 rms (more if possible) Can be one channel or 2 it wont really matter. The more efficiency the better cause there isnt much power on this thing. Size requirements: 6" X 6" Thank you for your help!
