  1. What are your max dimensions? You may be able to fit a normal 8" woofer.
  2. I've been meaning to ask about this woofer. I'd like to see Ric test it in the truck, see where it stacks up with the other 8" woofers. For $70, I wouldn't expect anything major, but it looks like it'll perform well.
  3. Eh, if your stuck on them I think I would pick the Ultimate. Less trouble to cut them damn pieces lol.
  4. No, vas is not the amount of space the woofer takes up, it is the amount of air whose compliance is the same as a drivers. It is a T/S parameter, and you can read more about that here.
  5. Not necessarily. That stronger motor could be pushing a heavier cone, or it could (and probably does) have a stiffer suspension (spider(s)). Probably shouldn't need to worry about it too much imo. If you want to try something new get the obsidians and give us a review, or get a stand by like some lvl 3's, or sa. You can't really go wrong with any of them. This. AT the same time however, that heavier magnet may not even be as strong as a lighter one. Two things come to mind. Supercharged motors (I know DD has them I think DC does as well) and Neodymium magnets. And if a motor can be "supercharged" then I also would think one can be "undercharged". And pound for pound, generally speaking, neodymium magnets will be stronger than ferrite. The Supercharged option for DD subwoofers is a Neo Magnet on the pole piece, and an aluminum piece on top of that (possibly a shortening ring), so the actual Ferrite magnet isn't really supercharged. So I'm not sure about undercharging a motor.
  6. Without looking at the manual, I can guarantee you that the subwoofer is not displacing .36cubes Maybe the manual says .36 liters?
  7. Thanks for the reply, but reason i am looking for a 15 to work in such a small sealed box, is i am thinking about doing 8 15s in the extended cab of a dakota again!! Oh shit, DO EET!
  8. If possible, don't put yourself in a position where you need your rearview. It was easy to adjust to, but I always used my side mirrors because my rearview was always shaking too bad to see anything out of.
  9. DC Lv3s, Sundown SA, AQ SDC2.5s, Obsidian Audio, just to name a few 600rms subwoofers that should fit your budget. I've never heard any of them, so I cannot comment on performance, I'm just posting suggestions to help you find what you are looking for
  10. I'm down for $20, give me a couple days to out the money in Paypal. I greatly respect the fact that he has his priorities straight, family first.
  11. I'm down for $20. Family always come first, and I really respect him for having his priorities straight.
  12. If the amp is anything like the ones I'ved used, you would want it set to master and not slave.
  13. Your English is good for being a second language, I believe you are asking what program he is using. It is the Torres Box Tuning Calculator, and it can be found here.
  14. Is that 18H? Cant see very well on mobile but if it is, would it still be 3 common walls? Seems the port would have to be 16.75H, but I'm probably over thinking it.
  15. That dont exactly help me lol... What you mean? I mean you don't have enough port area. I'd shoot for around 55sqin of port.
  16. Sorry for your loses bro, keep your head held high and you'll get through it. This thread is a good read about capacitors. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/14041-rf-capacitors/
  17. Sorry y'all, traded the games a couple days ago, can a mod please close this thread. And I'm still laughing my ass of at Gallys comment... That's pretty damn funny lol
  18. I would not suggest building the enclosure with the port only 2.25" from the back wall. I'd try to keep it 5.5" away. I can't comment on the rear deck as I've never messed with one.
