  1. ^x2. I would agree completely with Meade about swapping those out. In SC you're not supposed to have blue, but I see it all the time. When it appears that it could be a cop from a distance it's obvious why they'd pull you over- cops have blue lights here (I know it's red some places).
  2. Honestly I just realized that I could never please everyone at once. It's like if you like anal, and your fiance doesn't. One of you is going to end up unhappy. That's the way family is man, I spent Christmas with my wife and daughter till noon, went to my moms 12-4:30, and In-laws from 4:30- 7:30. My sister-in-law wanted everyone to come to her house at 11 am, and quite honestly I didn't want to have to get my ass up on Christmas morning- rush my family, then drive an hour to go open presents in a house full of people. My sister-in-law probably feels like we should have made the effort, but I enjoyed MYSELF, and it was much more relaxed this way. My dad used to complain all the time that I should be spending more time with him, or putting him first, but all you can do is your best and if others don't like it they can piss off. Best advice I can give, just don't let it bother you - or your girl.
  3. LOL - I heard a guy say, "really, I like money too!" today in a random conversation. Couldn't help think of idiocracy. Didn't read all the posts- just skimmed so sorry if this was answered, but I would ask why you think it's dehydration- are you not drinking much or at all? Make a habit of drinking multiple glasses of water throughout the day.G/L.
  4. Damn, my mom used to have one but it broke, she's used oreck since then. I want a clean house, but $500 gets the job done good enough. I can't justify 2k on a vacuum, my wife was looking at hydra vacs too, but their more effort than they're work imo. For the money, I'll go with dyson lol.
  5. What a beast. Congrats on your own line, now you know you've made it.
  6. I thought about getting the slightly more powerful one you have, but the ball is awesome. It's so maneuverable! My wife does an equal amount of vacuuming, but man I hate going over the same area a couple times and still noticing stuff that didn't get picked up. My dog is outside, but I let him sleep in a small foyer at night. The 15 feet he walks through the house and I find his hair in other rooms some times. I have an 8 month old daughter trying to crawl - I don't want her face planting and getting a mouth full of hair or dirt. The only real difference I can tell with the animal is the upholstery brush- it actually has spinning bristles like the main vacuum and works great for your car. Cleanliness is godliness, right? I haven't used it enough to test it's durability, but with the 5 year warranty I feel pretty comfortable.
  7. I've been called OCD, but I'm most certainly not. At least I don't think. I really hate a dirty house. It makes my stomach turn just thinking about it. My wife and I have been through 3 vacuums in the 3 years we've been married, spending around $150 on each one. We could have bought a nice vacuum that would have held up at least 3 years. The last one my wife bought used bags, which are the dumbest idea ever. Yeah, lets get a tiny ass bag that if the vacuum works good will get full really fast, then you need to buy more. Ours stopped really picking trash up well after 6 months, and the motorized bristles stopped spinning a month ago. I started noticing even after 3 times vacuuming the carpet wasn't clean, so I asked my wife for a vacuum for Christmas. Call me names all you want - anyone who doesn't like things neat is nasty. Soooo because we really needed it anyway, I convinced her to get a Dyson animal for me. Best Christmas present I've received in years, hands down! And I found it on sale for like 150 off at Home Depot, so it was much cheaper than normal. This thing picks up everything on every surface. I could not believe how much was stuck in the fibers of my rugs, and the canister is easy as hell to empty. If you're looking for a vacuum buy one of these, no doubt worth the money. I couldn't think of where to put this because it's not quite a review, but anyone considering buying a dyson- go for it.
  8. Time permitting I'll be placing my order tomorrow. At least a 3400, maybe a 34 and 3100 (have to check). Get in on this deal guys- I'd like to see 15%
  9. I have no clue where the avatar is from lol, my wife found the image one day and it was just too good not to use. Looks 80s as hell right? The owners of the shops were okay, but whenever guys would talk to me about my system I found the first line of questions to be about my alarm, then about where I lived :censored: Made me angry - then I'd see them pull out a few cars behind me. I'd go off on a side road, a minute later another car would follow me however I turned. Sort of took the fun out of demoing locally.
  10. I've had people follow me from stereo shops. I know their friends did the switch off too. I'm paranoid as hell, but I know people were after my truck for a while there.
  11. I was considering going to a local tax sale to pick up property, but I don't fully know what goes on. I've been googling it and there are so many sites I haven't found anything relevant. I know they auction it off and you have to wait a year to make sure the owner doesn't repay the taxes, but do you then have to satisfy any existing mortgage? I'm not concerned with small fees, just the bulk important stuff. Thanks to anyone who knows.
  12. Actually starting a business is pretty easy, it's staying in business that gets tough. It's difficult to get customers with money to buy things they don't need right now. High school kids get their mommies money, but then how much are they really willing to spend? 50-100 bucks here and there is nice, but for a real business you have to charge prices like other shops. I was going to build a box for a guy for 2 18s really cheap, then I started figuring things out: 2 sheets mdf- $50 glue/finish nails: $10-15 paint for port: $5 Threaded rod bracing: $30 I mean, not including fiberglass you're talking about at 100 in materials. Now it takes me at least a day or two to cut, build, paint, then countersink the sub and round-over things nice, drill out and tighten down the bracing. Lets say you've got 5 hours into the thing between you and your friend. Now if you charge them $200 you're only making what 50 bucks for your work? That's why shops charge so much. New/replacement tools add up too. Then they ask you to hook things up for them. If they buy all their wire, it still takes at least 2-3 hours to cut a grommet, pull panels, run wire, hook up the sub and amp, and quickly set the gains by ear. 2 hours of parking lot pimpin' later they've blown a sub and now they're coming back to you butt-hurt that you set things up wrong, when it turns out the moment they left they cranked the bass boost all the way up. Or better yet, their bulb burned out in their tail light that night and they say you messed up their wiring. If you do any work in anyones car get insurance man. Too many idiots to blame you for things you didn't do. Worse to have problems with a customer because you did screw something up. If you're JUST building boxes than you should be pretty safe. If you and your friend are serious, go buy a few hundred dollars in mdf and build many many boxes for yourself. If not for practice just to get first hand experience of how different size boxes change the sound of your driver.
  13. Cheap spacers would be some 1/4" cpvc, though I don't know that it would be necessary. I figure for as short as each length would be cpvc or pex might work. G/L.
  14. I had some bad luck, almost got out of car audio entirely. A year later the itch came back like a bad herpes rash G/L, it'll work out.
  15. Looking very good. Is there a formula you used to calculate the kerf and it's effect on the port tuning- or did you just lengthen the port? Looking really nice.
  16. Nice vid- looks loud for sure. Some vehicles flex like crazy while others don't. Obviously it's loud- but the vehicle type can make a huge difference in what flexes.
  17. I used to let people sit in the car sealed up, then mid song or after they're getting used to it throw the drivers door open. I used to gain almost 3 db at the dash like that, so it surprised them all over again
  18. I would do 32 just because I've had a few software compatibility issues with 64. Other than that 64 is supposed to be better if your system can take advantage of it.
