The DC amp is cheaper and not overkill if you are going to run 4-mids and tweets off of them. If you are running more speakers, then go with more power or 2 amps....I am planning on running the DC to push my JL component speakers and tweets.

What kind of speakers will you be using for your mids/highs?

If you are going to spend a G or more on a sub, look at the soundstream 18 and the SMD AA 18....2 sick ass subs right there. -

This right here, highlights the problem with some of the people on this forum and all over the sound community. They don't watch voltage, and they just crank their amps up til it sounds "good" and let it go. Meanwhile, their alt and batt are suffering horrible and painful deaths, at the same time as possibly frying the amp.... I have learned, a "few" people on this forum know what they are talking about, and when they speak, I listen. Sure, sometimes they come across a little arrogant or assholish, but, when you have been in the game for so long, you expect people to already know what you know sometimes. Sometimes people forget that people are still learning. But still, I listen. If you choose not to listen when people give good advice, then you, my friend, are in the wrong place! -
Ok.. New system.

Thats a bit of an upgrade. You know if you sell the stuff you have in your whip now, you would be able to afford most of this stuff right? Especially if you have $700 already saved up to buy this stuff. Get yourself about a grand or so, upgrade dat batt and do it right son! AA 18" is a loud ass woofer if you put it in a good box with enough power...hope you have ear protection! -
If you killed the unit, it was most likely clipping. Get an O scope on that thing, and amp your speakers to keep from doing it again....
-
Maybe you shouldn't hood bump your stock speakers with this little tiny head unit, get an amp to keep from frying up your stuff or turn your bass down a little like I said and quit "hood bumpin" your car. haha

This sounds oddly familiar...didn't we just have another post with almost the same exact problem with a pioneer HU too? Time for a new head unit I think fella!

I know the internet doesn't show it very well in text, I guess that is why we have emoticons...It is called sarcasm guy! -
They said it was too provocative, and when I tried to change it to a different pic it stayed the same....ha...It is supposed to be a more appropriate picture of Kendra Wilkinson...

So my 2 DC 12's level 3's with an AQ1200D might push me into the 140s? I drive an SUV, and have never metered my system, though my last system a friend of mine who used to be into comps said it should have metered close to that with 2 cheap arse 15's in it... It's all in the box huh?
