Single 18" 1/3 cab Walled Stupid??
Amart88 replied to Mikey Bates's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
One 18 is not worth making a wall for. You won't gain much with 1 18 in c-pillar wall, I'd just go with a box. Now if you were running multiple 18's it would be a different story -
Yes, But won't you lose loudness on songs that are like -7db? I'm still tring to learn this whole thing. I mean meade is set to -10db and he plays under 5 so I don;t get it

Thank you all for the info, I got the plugin so I can open itunes songs now. What do you do If the song is under -5db where your system is set to? I don't want clipping. Faded was showing -0.6db. wow Do I just turn it down or is there a way to make it -5db?

XS Intellicharger loud whistle?
Amart88 replied to Amart88's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
Not that I have noticed but I only used it twice so far. It was fairly loud, same sound as a smoke detector but only for 4-5 seconds than faded away. Also i think it happened when switching from charging to float. I ran in to see what was going on but everything seemed ok. nothing was hot and it still works to my knowledge. EDIT: Just noticed you are out of office so you can see this when you get in, Thanks -
I prefer crimping if it's done correctly. (hydrualic crimper). The only real cons of soldering is that solder always adds a small amount of resistance to the connection and can be time consuming. I have done both but now I just crimp. I'ts quick, reliable, and a good connection.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed from under my gums a few months ago. I didn't have much pain. the worst thing was not being able to eat what you want for a while. -
may be a stupid question but i obsess over details... I am just curious as to how much weight a 4 lug hub can handle. My pursuit has 4 stud hubs and since my new system the car has been quite a bit lower in the rear end as there is 700ish pounds of system in the car now. I put all new wheel studs in 2 months ago I just don't want to worry about sheering my studs while driving down the road from extra weight. Should I be ok? I mean it can't be any different than a full trunk a 3 fat guys in the car lol. Thanks.

Only tricky part is backing up in a busy place. Thats why you get a back up cam. other than that its not bad at all.

WTFFFFF PROBLEMS WITH REMOTE WIRE!!!
Amart88 replied to Crandis16's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
You only need around 5 volts to turn on most amps. -
Sounds good. Just remember Less power, bigger box. More power, smaller box.
-
Yes, I was jsut saying you COULD if you REALLY wanted too but I would just stick with 2 15's. 14.5 cubes is a bit much for 2 15's though. depending on what woofers you choose anywhere from 3-5 cubes each is all you would need. I got 2 btls 15's 4 cubes each and that works well. ported to 33hz
-
2 15's have more cone area than 1 18. I would go with 2 15's. and to answer your question, yes you have room for an 18 with 14.5 cubes. with that space you could do 2 18's if you really wanted to.

WTFFFFF PROBLEMS WITH REMOTE WIRE!!!
Amart88 replied to Crandis16's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
If allelse fails, Try hooking the remote wire to another source, find a fuse thats only on when the key is on and run it there, Just wrap the wire around the cold side of the fuse and stick it back in. If It still don't work than you know it's not the HU, The "cold side" being that side that is closer to the accessory? The side that will lose power if the fuse blows. -

Amart88 replied to Crandis16's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Make sure your HU is not in demo mode? i know mine won't power the remote if its in demo mode. Maybe if you disconnected the battery at some point The remote is usually a blue wire with a white stipe from the HU. -
Anyone get the latest ipad update? Apple totally ruined the music player on the ipad with IoS 5. It's complete garbage now and is horrible to use. All of the playlists, music and folders on the left are GONE now you have to scroll through 100's of album covers just to find your playlist and then do it all over agian. Don't know if this is the right section but man this pissed me off. Just letting you know If you did not get the update yet, You might want to think on it. Look for youself: May be old news to you but I just got the update yesterday... http://news.cnet.com...app-with-ios-5/

Well I downloaded tyga's album on itunes only problem is I cant actually see the file in audacity because apple has a death grip on it... I was wondering what the original verson of rack city peaks at. I know all decafs stuff is around -5db. My system is set to -5db so I usually check the songs I play to make sure they are not over that. Is the music off itunes store good quality, clean? Thanks
