  1. yeah i was confused by that too. thats why i asked for a picture
  2. could i see a picture of the setup youre talking about?
  3. thats a really good choice on the headunit. ^he answered the second question for you. an XS power or a kinetic would be a good choice for a battery. the best way to find a local event would be to go to some of your local stereo shops and asking them
  4. the sub is probably unloading because it is right next to the port
  5. i think theres some pioneer avic headunits like that. check the pioneer website
  6. im only running 1000 watts and i cant bump my system for like 10 minutes without dropping my battery below 12 volts. it is a walmart battery but it still wouldnt make it for that long with the xs d6500 that im gonna get. youre definitely gonna need to have it running and if you want to demo with it then you should rev it to get full output from your alternator(s).
  7. I built a foward firing ported box for my daily driver and it works great. i sealed off the trunk with wood and towels. the best thing to do would be to go to peoples build threads with foward firing trunk builds and see how they do it.
  8. i say you build it into the trunk and then take the subs out when you sell the car. You can offer the box to the buyer or rip it out for them
  9. i like the full face style wheels like those. 23's are harder to find tires for but as long as you are planning on buying new tires then youll be alright
  10. i have heard of cadence audio before but never heard whether they were good or not. it doesnt seem like too bad of an amp. the only thing that doesnt look to good is that its not CEA compliant.
  11. it would probably be worth it and it could look good if done right. if you did a 4th order then you would be a lot louder and making the port go through the rear deck would also free up some space inside the box
  12. what cab is your s10?
  13. i would not recommend a kit like that as ive never heard of quantum audio and i dont know if its any good or not and its not the best deal for a setup like that. for the speakers you can just get some coaxials and run them off the headunit just like the stock speakers. for a setup that small you wouldnt need to do anything else besides you could do you big 3 just as a precaution.
  14. you should use something that wont roll as much... like marbles (i wanna see a video of him trying to fight to keep a handful of marbles to stay on his car)
  15. just measure the location of the stock battery and compare that to sizes of xs batteries
  16. looks good! you can attach the subs with bolts and t-nuts in the wood
  17. i cant help with what kind of spl you are at but i will just help because this question will be asked before you get a good answer: what subs and amp are you running? what box is it in?
  18. You can run the engine ground from any bolt that connects to the general body of the engine. If the alternator cover is a solid piece of metal attached to the engine then it would work for a ground. You don't have to do it but it would help with charging if you connect the positives and negatives of the two batteries
  19. yeah Sd is cone area but according to the website it is only slightly smaller than a 12
  20. On the DC audio website, the level three 10's are listed as having an Sd of 487 cm². Is this a typo or is this the actual Sd because the 12" is at 494 cm² and the other 10's are around ~300 cm². If this is a typo then what is the correct Sd of the 10?
  21. damn that sounds good! i still gotta test out some decaf in my car
  22. i think with doing the big 3 in 0 or 1/0 and possibly upgrading the batteries to AGM batteries you should be good.
  23. a dc xl would work for that amp. you can get it from 10" to 18" and im pretty sure it would be in your price range
  24. DeeCee all day!
  25. some kid i used to be friends with gave a ford explorers passenger mirror an uppercut because my friend needed one. then to be even more of a dick he wrote "thanks for the mirror" on their window with a sharpie.
