My stinger meter is on my amp. At idle they battery and volt meter(amp) match up. I will check the voltage at full tilt on battery and on alt.

Full tilt i think i ve see 12.6 but on a de af song or so ive seen 11.8 then cut the volume off. Think its time for a new batt this ones 5 years old

Just feel that my voltage drops to low at idle with the sterep only 1/2 way and gain under 1/2. Voltage drops down way low 13.5 4s. Any way to test a weak alt? Is it possible to damage or weaken an alternator?

since you have 4 why not run the at like 600 - 800 watts to play it safe. NS1 !!

What are the rms of these and what ohm config is each ?

I also am building a box soon as well. For ME i use 1.5 framing screws with square heads, cheapest caulking i can find, and i run threaded rod through the box. I may for this build do direct wires from subs to the amp and caulk around the wire to seal it off. Less breaks = more power (not that i will notice).

I had problems with my alpine 1000. Was the amp warm? I know they have a builtnin feature where if it gets hot the amp turns it self down automatically. Thermal protect. As for not working maybe something could be broken . Mine would always get quieter then normalnthen quieter, finally i sold it.

I stumbled across a fellow SMD member that had an amazing idea you put into something.
