  1. Had to save the dust cap haha Soaking the old foam and glue in nail polish remover with acetone
  2. @TBM: appreciate the idea. Are you talking about the little handheld soldering iron that you hold like a pen and use for computer work? Only thing it is all the way around the whole spider. I believe the screws hold down a ring that goes around the outer edge of the spider the hold it down. I cant get the spider completely out without removing all the glue.
  3. Lol take some acetone and a blow torch and it should be ok. Nah but anyway you can shoot me a message on the box I am going to have ~4 boxes for it all different. Give me just a few mins and I will get all the pics of what I have accomplished for this SA-8 so far
  4. Hey whats up eveyone I ordered a SA-8 v1.5 last week and I have now found some time to start disassembling it and getting it ready to recone. I will order the recone sometime this week when I get some extra funds. Anyway I have removed the cone off the woofer and now I am trying to remove the spiders. However there is a thick layer of glue over the spider and the screws holding the spider landing in? I think that is what it called. Someone please correct me on that cause I would also like to know the name of it. Here is what I am talking about and does anyone know how I can remove these screws so I can remove the spider and coil? Thank you for any help, -James
  5. Money sent for a blown SA-8 v1.5. Looking forward to receiving it and attempting my first recone here in the near future -James Horton
  6. I ordered a pair of dual inputs from him and received the inputs 2 days later. Great communication, excellent packaging, and fast shipping. Thanks again man -James
  7. I appreciate it ya'll I am looking for an 8 and I will always keep it an 8. Just something that I can have to mess around with and build a couple boxes for. Also I want the Motor/Basket cause I am ready to do my first recone so I can gain the knowledge of how to do it. I will likely have it on a system in the garage for when I am working on boxes or working on my own system. I'm glad there will parts available for while to come though. Thanks Again, -James
  8. Anyone know how long the recones will be available for the v.1 and if recones will be available longer for the v1.5 than the v.1? Thanks -James
  9. I wonder if it is the same price for just motor/basket with no cone in it? Either way I know I'll order a 8" from the yardsale if nothing else. I got funds ready to go just guess I'll be waiting til Monday when they could also be shipped out though
  10. I appreciate the fast replies. I got a post in there asking for the 8" v.1 or 10". He said they had a 8" motor/basket left which I'm looking forward to seeing what he says the price is. I also kinda wanted to see if anyone else had anything else they wanted to get rid of kinda to see what all my options are -James
  11. Hey everyone I am looking for a motor/basket or just a blown SA-8 v.1 or SA-10. What I'm looking to do is buy a small blown sub then do my first recone and build a box maybe 2 boxes since they are only like .6-.7ft^3 a piece. I will also have a log on the process as I go along even though it may be slow. Just post up or PM me what you have. Also I would pay through PayPal. -James
  12. Funds ready to go via PayPal. Just one other question. How much longer will there be recones for the 8" v.1? And will the recones for the v.1.5 be available longer? -James
  13. I would really like to have a AQ wallpaper. Been looking one for about 2 weeks
  14. Great job man. Liking the 3rd one. The apples will be covered up in the 3rd wallpaper when you place apps over them right?
  15. Do you have a SA-8 v.1 motor and basket? Doesnt have to have a cone in it just mainly looking for something I can recone myself and use in a small just for fun build. Pm me if you got one left and the price on it. It would be shipped to 27803 also. I'm right up the road in Rocky Mount, NC Thanks, -James
  16. I am running my HDC3 off a Soundstream rub2500.1D and it honestly hasn't ever even gotten warm. Only got about 7 1/2hrs of play time on it but it has never gotten smelly or warm to the touch on the dust cap. -James
  17. I appreciate the feedback man and hopefully you can use the wire to get that ride bumpin. Lookin forward to seeing the build. -James
  18. also what about bracing? Should he brace the baffles to the bottom or have any kind of bracing like front-back or from side-side?
  19. If the port is sideways wouldn't it almost have to have aero ports? I haven't ever seen a slot port firing to the side but I have with aero's though. -James
  20. I totally lack the skills in the Sketch Up programs but like you said hopefully someone will chime in on this one and I am sure they will. We have many great and very knowledgeable members around here. I have always thought a box that has been designed and tuned right running on less power sounds better than a poorly designed box with huge amounts of power thrown at it. I'm sure we can get you up running with a design and then you can take off on the building process -James
  21. Hey whats up ya'll I have been talkin to the OP and his max dimensions are 20"h x 37"w x 24"d. I'll post a link to what I came up with in Torre's below. Anyway he is looking for a slot port along the bottom of the box firing to the back and wants the sub facing upward. Also wants tuning around 35hz. The maximum ported box volume is 4ft^3 and the minimum ported box volume is 2ft^3. I got these specs from the spec list on sonicelectronix. It's a daily setup and will be powered by a BRE2500.1D so I'm guessing these subs will be seeing around 1.9-2k rms daily after box rise and a little voltage drop. Sub Info from Maxxsonics: What I have come up with for this: -James
  22. Redesigned amp rack built and installed. Next up is to relocate the ground to the frame and then bed line the box and amp rack

  23. I appreciate the feed back. Glad you received everything in mint condition and hope you enjoy. Thanks again, -James
  24. Does anyone have any experience with this HU? Does someone have nay idea where the HU clips? Also it says it has 1 set of 5V preouts but I cant get the preout voltage no matter what I try. Tried the back of the HU and the end of the RCA's and still no results
