What kind if paint texture is that on the box looks geat

I have an l7 15 on hfi 2000 at 2 ohm wich should be close to 1200( I know I know hfi doesnt do rate) but it gets loud. Anyways box is like 5 cuft now at the same amp ohm load but with an xl 12 and I realy could not tell the difference. Maybe just maybe the l7 was a ittle bit louder on the same power and the xl was in a small 2cuft box wich leaves more room for other things and of course the xl can still take way more power. l7 probably not much more. And remember wonce the blow recone maybe get upgraded coils. If l7 blow, paper weight. But yea for an l7 have the cone area of an 18 it wasnt much louder the the 12 if it even was anylouder that is. Maybe its just my sh!tty box makin skills

Just the other day ebay had 3dc audio amps 2 5ks and a 175.4 same guy sold all three. I got one, 5k at 635 shipped the other sold for over close to 700. And the 175.4 slipped out of my hands at 200. e would have bet more but Didnt have enought for both amps. Man I sure did want that 175.4 Keep your eyes open on ebay

Thanks guys. Ill get the battery first. Since it cheaper. Then alt. I ran my hfi2000 on stock 130 amp alt in my yukon for a year and its still working so I think the 160 alt can do for now. As for build log im done with the ugly box I made trust me you doent want to see it And as for how im wireing from 2ohm to 1 ohm well as of now I only have 1dc xl 1ohm and im a wire to 2 ohms when I get the other ill wire to 1ohm

Ok I have a DC 5K, not yet hooked up. Im not looking to get 5k out of it just yet. I useded to run a 2k amp wich didnt do rate (hifonics hfi2000)and loved it but got the 5k cheap on ebay so I bought it . My alt is a stock 160 amp alt. How many watts can I run on this? The 5k does a little over 2k at 2 ohms which is what im looking to get at the moment. Will it be fine on the stock alt and stock battery? And for the future if I did want to get full power of the 5k how big of an alt do I need? What about batterys?

Maybe get the hfi3000 ebay has new ones for$ 300. Even if the 3k only does 2000 watts ist still cheaper then a kicker or rockford or any other big name 2000watt amp

I didnt have it bolted in but im not sure I could bolt it in, it looked like it wanted to fly out(maybe have somthing to fo with my sh!itty box im made) .And at low volume. Ebay is your friend, a 175.4 sold for 200 plus shipping would have bid more to try to win it but the week before I got a 5k from the same sell for 600 plus shipping

Ok guy I bought it . Now plz dont bash my head in, but how do I properly wire this thing? Yes I know I dumn f@ck like my self should not be messing with this type of things. Im new and still learning. And know for a fact my electrical cant do 5k. but like everyone hear said it was a good price so I could pass it up. So im goin to wire it at 2ohm (wich is a little over 2000 watts if im not mistaken)untill I can up my batterys and alt plus I only have one level 4 xl right now anyways(need an other). Now do I need to run 2 Power wires from the battery? Or will a Distribution block work. My powers wires got a 250amp fuse, should I still fuse the wires after the block

Ill make sure itworks. But I hear if you try running an amp that big on stock/not enough electrical power it will f it up. Thats what im worried about. The wear that I cant see. Or is there a way to check if its going bad.

I can get an used dc 5k for 600 is it worth that? More? Less? While I dont know the guy he does have a few dc amps so I would think he knows a thing or 2 about car audio and not just bought it off of some guy because it was huge. I think anyways. Is there anyways to see if the amp is beat up hardware wise? I know the amp needes upgaded alt and and extra battery wich at the moment dont have but if 600 is a good deal I wont pass it up. Probably turn the gains down and run at higher ohms. Hell as of know I just have 1 xl still waiting on the next but like I said if this is a good price should I act and buy it. Thanks

Sorry to high jack but I got my First dc sub today. its an xl 12. all I can say is WOW! I got it on ebay, payed 250 shipped wich now that I look at the sub was a steal! I think it a 3rd hand-me-down sub I think. I seamed as if the guy got it from someone else and the coil still looks brand new, spiders still stiff and souround bearly broken in. But I mean how the f@ck can you burn it the coil, it looks 3 or 4 times thicker then my kicker l7 15

What a new one go for online that is? Retail on there site like 1000
