  1. Well If this fella backs out and turns it down , I will let you make an offer....
  2. I can't find any pics of it in my truck, but i have it , with the factory box, manual, remote, face plate carrying box, and it works, although I would say that it would be easiest to install if you got a new wiring harness from kenwood to plug into the back of the deck. I have had it in two vehicles, so the leads are now pretty short. I dont really know what the best price is. I guess just either run a little bid here or send me a p.m. I would think at least 100 bucks. Whatcha think? Nobody gets it here, I am gonna stick it on ebay. crutchfields page on it 25th Anniversary: The Kenwood eXcelon XXV-01D CD head unit is part of a special series of car stereo components to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kenwood Car Electronics. SRS WOW incorporates other SRS technologies such as TruBass, Focus, and SRS for improving the sound of CDs and radio: * TruBass: uses harmonics to enhance the bass frequencies * Focus: adjusts the vertical position of the front speaker and sound image by virtual adjustment * SRS 3D: creates a natural 3-dimensional sound field (not available for Tuner source) WOW Control: You can select a WOW effect level (Low, Mid, High, or Through), each with a specific value for TruBass, Focus, and SRS 3D. You can also set your own values and store them under the WOW User memory: * Focus: 1-9 or Off * TruBass Front: 1-4 or Off * TruBass Rear: 1-4 or Off * SRS 3D: 1-4 or Off DSP Bypass: You can bypass the unit's Digital Signal Processor (DSP) when you do not want the sound to be affected. Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -8 to 0. Built-in Amp Switch: If the audio signals are output to external amplifiers, you can turn off the internal amplifier to improve audio quality. Dual Zone System: The XXV-01D's Dual Zone System allows you to output one source to the front channels and another source to the rear channels. The main source can be the internal disc player, tuner, or a source connected via the 13-pin CD changer input. The sub source is a device connected to the rear RCA auxiliary input. You can assign the sub source to either the front or rear channels. When the Dual Zone System is activated, the volume of the front channels is controlled by the volume knob, while the volume of the rear channels is controlled in the Audio Control menu. CR-2 Advanced Tuner: This unit uses Kenwood's CR-2 Advanced tuner for clear radio reception. You can choose one of three tuning modes: Auto 1 (seek tuning), Auto 2 (cycles through and tunes the selected band's preset stations only with each button press), or Manual. HD Radio Ready: With an optional Kenwood HD Radio tuner (item # 113HR100TR), you will be able to receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local stations where available. This new technology will significantly improve audio quality and reception, as well as include information such as artist name and song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display. Radio Data System (RDS): The unit's tuner features RDS (Radio Data System). RDS is a service used by some radio stations to transmit data outside of normal radio broadcast signals. When an RDS station is received, you can immediately find out what kind of data is being transmitted by looking at the program service name which appears in the display after the frequency. RDS features an emergency transmission function which interrupts regular programming to broadcast an emergency announcement (such as a tornado or severe storm). There is also a switchable Traffic Information function, which will automatically tune a traffic bulletin when it is broadcast, even when you're not listening to the radio. If activated, you can synchronize the head unit's clock with RDS station time data. Clean Reception System Circuit (CRSC): This circuit controls multi-path distortion by reducing stereo separation. As stereo separation is reduced, multi-path has less effect on the radio signal, improving reception in areas with tall buildings and mountains. The CRSC circuit can be turned on or off. Disc/Station Naming: You can enter and store names of up to 8 characters for CDs and radio stations. Characters can include upper case letters, numbers, symbols, and special accent characters. The memory can store names for up to 30 stations and 10 discs in the internal CD player. The number of disc names you can store for an external CD changer depends upon the capability of the changer. Disabled System Indicator: A red indicator will blink on the unit after the faceplate is removed, warning potential thieves. This feature can be turned On or Off. Security Code: You can enter a 4-digit security code which must be used when the unit is removed from the vehicle, or the constant power source is disconnected from the unit. When constant power is restored to the unit, the security code must be entered before the unit becomes operational. The security code may be disabled if desired. Bass Management System (B.M.S.): You can remotely adjust the bass boost of a compatible Kenwood amplifier with the Bass Management System (B.M.S.). When properly connected, you can set the bass boost to Flat, +6dB, +12dB, and if the amplifier is capable, +18dB. In addition, you can set the B.M.S. frequency offset to "Normal" or "Low". The "Low" setting drops the bass boost normal center frequency by 20%. Note: The pink/black lead on the receiver's wiring harness should be connected to the amp's B.M.S. terminal. Remote Control: The XXV-01D comes with the RC-527 wireless remote control with a full numeric keypad. The remote includes volume control for the rear channels when the unit is operating in the Dual Zone mode. It is powered by 2 "AA" batteries (supplied). The dimensions of the remote are: L=5.369", W=1.968", D=1.198". Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the unit is in Standby mode, the face/button illumination is "keyed". In addition, while the unit is in Standby mode, you can turn the clock display on or off." When the Clock Display is turned on and the unit is in Standby mode, the Clock Display is also "keyed". Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely. Display Dimmer: When the dimmer control is set to "on", the display automatically dims when the vehicle lights are turned on. When set to "off", the display doesn't dim. Note: In order for the display dimmer feature to operate, the orange/white wire in the supplied wiring harness must be connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit. Auxiliary Input: The XXV-01D is equipped with a built-in auxiliary input. There is a set of stereo RCA jacks on a 12-inch pigtail on the back of the receiver for connecting an external audio source. The Auxiliary input can be activated/deactivated through the menu. When it's activated, you can select one of six names for the source: Aux, TV, Video, Game, Portable or DVD. When deactivated, Auxiliary does not appear as a source. With an optional adapter (item 113CAC1AX or 113KCAS210), you can also turn the unit's CD changer input into a second auxiliary input. Changer Controls Compatibility: This unit is directly compatible with Kenwood changers manufactured in 1998 or later. If the changer has an O-N switch, the switch will need to be set to the "N" position. If you have a Kenwood changer manufactured before 1998, you will need the KCA-S210A switching adapter. Changers manufactured before 1994 require the CA-DS100 converter cord (113CADS100) and the KCA-S210A switching adapter. Changer Controls: In addition to basic disc navigation features, this unit has the following changer controls: direct disc access (using the remote), direct track access (using the remote), track intro scan, track repeat, disc repeat, disc random, and all disc random. CD Text/MD Display: When connected to a CD Text capable CD changer or an MD changer, this unit can display disc and track titles for discs encoded with disc and track title information. The text information can be scrolled manually or automatically. iPod Adapter Compatible: Using the KCA-iP500 iPod Control Interface, you can connect your Apple iPod digital music player to this receiver. The interface (item # 113IP500) plugs into the receiver's 13-pin CD changer input and controls the iPod through the receiver's controls, as well as displays the iPod's text information right on the receiver's OEL display. Minimum Computer Requirements PhatNoise Media Manager Software: To use Media Manager software, the following software and hardware are required: * Software: Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, or XP * Hardware: o Personal computer (main unit, display, and peripheral units) incorporating a 500MHz or better Pentium II processor (or the equivalent) on which the above OS can run normally o 128MB RAM or more o Hard disc with 200MB free space o CD-R/CD-RW drive * Others: Internet connection environment * Note: Administrator authority is required when installing Media Manager in Windows 2000 or XP
  3. Jesus. Lookin at him in a whole new light now. Un believable.!!!!!!
  4. I am pretty sure if you hunt around a bit you can find a new sundown for close to that price....
  5. There is so much to be said and learned from what my man said here. Read it, and think about before you go starting shit with strangers, and then wishing you had a gun to handle the situation you created to begin with. Instead of driving off, you shoulda been like " damn westlake you aint gonna holla at your boy" or something , and tried to start a conversation, not a trash talk and run like you did..... Chicks will get you in more trouble than they are worth at your age, and even worse as they get older.... Chalk it up to lesson learned , lesson remembered.
  6. The devil is in the details . For sure on this one. Your clients are getting so much more than a average install whenever you get your hands on their rides. Damn dude. Top notch, and above the notch making a new one !!! You have definitely put your all in to this " hoopty" and you should be proud of your accomplishment , especially when it comes to these little things that soak up so much time for such a small result that most would just take for granted. I for one would be like fuck that , I aint gonna solder for hours on end...
  7. agreed..... Love the tru tv.!!!
  8. Does she expect you to buy a mac for her class, much less a 70 dollar printer?
  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHAAAAAAA ..... talk about old school. Didn't the old pioneers come with a carrying bag to put the head unit into with a shoulder strap. ??? or maybe kenwood. But yeah Pull out FTW.... ( and Yeah, pull out for safety - and to avoid child support )
  10. airport is on the south side of ATL , you will end up north east of ATL in buford Ga. yee-haw. Depending on what time you land the drive up to lanier from the airport can take 1-3 hrs. Love the traffic....
  11. I have been up around lake lanier. It a really nice area. you will definitely not be anywhere near downtown though. Lake lanier is kinda outside of town. If you were hoping to see atlanta really close up, well then look out the plane window and the shuttle bus to lake lanier. However the lake is a amazing place, very scenic , really big and really nice this time of year. It should give you nice break from the routine if nothing else.
  12. Definitely stay where your at and finish up. all the computer work sounds like what my girl is going thru and went thru for her masters and previously her bachelors from Savannah College of Art and Design. It is work. But it will pay off in the long run. I think more than a wyotech or mobile dynamics education would. It is usually only one or two out of a big handful that gets a job with a super high shop profile or manufactures installer team job... Hell with your degree you stand a better chance of working for a factory team I think. Industrial design, damn ther is soo much you will be able to offer a potenial employer once you get out school, and the jobs should be yours to pick from. Just try a recover as much of your school work as you progress thru the classes and start creating a professional looking portfolio of what you are capable of so you will be able to show off your talents. Several of Jess's classmates graduated from college and the professors kept some very impressive and not to mention very expensive art projects ( be it clothing designs, film work, photography ) that these kids can't get back now, and would have probably helped them get a job quicker. Once something is graded - get it back.
  13. Mostly out along the PCH. And of course Fashion Island. And I walked around at the bentley dealer , and I stuck my nose to the glass at the lambo and Ferrari dealers. Yeah the place is crazy. It is kinda surreal when you first get there. You are not sure if you are really in california or he tropics. Then you start noticing every tag on every car is california . Reality sets in. You really hate leaving. Everybody needs to experience L.A. just once , even if just for a few days.
  14. one of these days I am gonna break down and order up a kit from Zaino.... all the FJ guys use it and go on and on about how great it is.... on the FJ forums. I like the idea of being able to put wax on in the sun. Got no garage or carport so night time waxing or a 30 minute drive to a garage at a buddies house is the only option. I will be waiting to hear how it works out for you.....
  15. I saw on comcast news today that Hulk hogan and his wife and nick are being sued by the parents of the passenger involved in the accident. Article said it might do them in financially, and nick will most likely see time behind bars. Nasty wreck though. i hate seeing supras wrecked. Takes my odds of owning one down with every total loss of vehicle. I t is unfortunate. Nick should be tried and get what the judge sees as fit punishment. Damn nice ride though. :-
  16. i think maybe they were referring to the guys doing harm to puppies. No comment beyond that. As far as removing the video. Hell no. Those guys need to do whatever they can to keep their sanity, to keep in touch with whats going on at home. I f they wanna ghost ride, If they wanna get drunk and howl at the moon when they aint working then by god let em have some fun. And more importantly , let them film it, let them laugh and be buddies any chance they get. they need every break they can get , they need every joke they hear, they need every new song in the headphones. they need care packets, letters, DVD movies of the summer block busters, they need to know we are over here waiting for them to come home. It doesn't matter what the war is about, it does not matter rather or not you think the war or the or how they spend their leisure time is right or wrong or ridiculous. What matters is that they belong here, and they are not right now. You are, and you don't have on military boots and a vest and helmet. I am not in iraq, neither are most of anyone reading this. I don't know what it is like to be in the middle of a war zone, in the middle of a country that is completely foreign to me. Do you? to any one in IRAQ..... WE LOVE YOU GUYS.... Stay alive , stay sane, and keeps your friends by your side. And DAMMIT HAVE FUN EVERY CHANCE YOU GET !!!!!!
  17. Venice Beach. I saw it once. that was more than enough. the famous bike path along the sand in Venice. Muscle Beach. yeah. whatever.Bunch a weirdos covered in oil trying to look like Fucking hercules.... from the flight out of town... this sht shows the area where the roadside park is in the first few pics... And here you can see the snow on the mountain tops. Like I mentioned i could this clearly from a few places in huntington... That is pretty much it, sorry no cheesy pics of my girlfriend and our friends that live out there.
  18. Huntington, looking toward Long beach. Oh yeah I went up there too. Rodeo Drive.....Looked alot smaller in person. We found this damn place while we were there too. And this place. Got a t-shirt. Didn't get too see any of the big names, cool none the less This was at a car shop on Melrose , completely blacked out. tint, wheels, tail and head lights, black leather, everything just shiny black. SICK and no trip to Hollywood would be complete without some shot like this... more pics coming....
  19. Last week I did a few things I at one time swore I would never do. I flew on a plane for the first time. 4 of them actually. Savannah to ATL, ATL to Santa Ana , then back home seven days later. I purposely drove on the 405 at rush hour, just hoping to see a high speed chase. I shopped along Rodeo Drive. Woop de doo - after all It is just a expensive outdoor mall with expensive valet parking. I think my girlfriend and her good friend located every mall in southern california , and I had to walk thru every one. On the flip side though - Orange county is absolutely beautiful. No amount of traffic, no massive population, with the crazy homes waiting to slide in to the pacific , the miles and miles of stores, and freeways - nothing will change just how cool this place was to a guy from georgia. Georgia- You know home to swamps and pine trees, humidity and mosquitoes, flat ground and super closed minded rednecks. - Georgia is not California. We stayed in San Juan Capistrano for the week, we went to Dana Point, Laguna , Newport, Huntington, San clemente, L.A. , Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, I rode down sunset Blvd, I got to shop along Melrose avenue. Whch by the way is the coolest place ever. Anything for anybody is there. No matter what your budget. I Drove right past the Petersen Automotive museum ( never made it inside- don't ask- I was overruled by 2 women ) and the Labrea tar pits, didn't look exciting enough to stop though. I spent a whole bunch of money, I saw damn near every exotic car on the market today either at the dealership on on the road, I saw too many people that have way - WAY TOO MUCH MONEY.... ( I am envious -) I saw some of the most bizarre characters in the world on Venice beach - go once- in the daytime - and you will see enough to last a lifetime. That place was weird even to me and all my tattoos and piercings. The best part about all of this ... I wanna move there. I wanna be another guy who thinks I can afford the high real estate, the crazy traffic , the everything in excess. I want to move all the way across country and start over some where in So-cal. The weather is tropical, the rolling green hills are a sight that can't be described, the beaches were unlike anything on the east coast, except the gulf coast of florida. The rush of people, the whole fact that - to me ...... Well It was like being in another country all together. I really did not want to come home. The only thing I missed was not having my FJ to cruise around in. The rented maxima was nice, but was not FJ cruiser, and the stereo sucked ass. Ohh yeah. I found me a Alpine 9887 deck and the imprint kit hile I was out there. Al-Ed's had it, but it was in warehouse, and i decided to buy it on friday before I left, so it didn't come home with me, but it will be here in a day or two...YAY!!!!! I will go back to visit, and somehow , when my girl finishes up her masters, we are gonna pack it up and head west. on to some pics. I didn't get alot of scenic shots, and I didn't wanna look like a bumbling tourist, but here they are.... a newport sunset a park along the pacific coast highway, between newport and laguna some of the houses that start in the millions. from a hilltop in san juan capistrano , the cool thing is, you can be on the beach in some places, turn from the ocean, and see all the way across the valley at the mountains with snow on them. from the damn beach!!! huntington beach the huntington pier more pics coming....
  20. I would prefer if more magazines did just what these guys are doin... More reader's rides. More home built, sweat and blood installs. Any body with any amount of money can go to some hot audio shop and shell out money. Its when the amateur does it himself that I am most interested in reading the story behind the car and the owner. Don't get me wrong - some cars need to be seen because they are such high profile installs and the work is damn near art work , and mag cover quality. But I am real, and so is my budget and my skills, so it is cool to see what others like me do with the hobby...
  21. This has been in all the car mags over the past couple of months. This car is a real - euro killer. The vette, the porsche, and several other had much slower skid pad , lap and accel times compared to the skyline GT-R . It is truly a monster , and it is my new dream sports car. Hands down, HOT SHIT. Lemme see if I can find any of the test reports online....
  22. I live in georgia. If you don't wanna go get it, lemme know, cause I will take it from you if it is too much work for you to come down and get it....
