  1. LOL, I thought along the same lines as him when it first came out. I looked at the symptoms and whatnot and was like, wow... I hope I get swine flu, maybe school can be closed, like all the schools they closed in California because of it.
  2. Shits lookin super clean, Steve. Nice work! It may have been said before, but whats going in the Q logics? 5 1/4 or 6 1/2?
  3. Thats kinda what I was lookin for.
  4. Thanks Decaf. I guess the real question that I'm trying to ask, but I feel like I kinda know the answer, is if I am off base? ~40-43 for rock, 35-37 for daily, and low thirties for modern rap. Dude is trying to say that tuning your box to the low thirties is for all around sound quality, 'with a flatter response' I can see where he's thinking that on one hand, because tuning that low will make your box peak a little above that depending on the car your putting it in........ Probably closer to the 35-40 hertz range. On the other hand, a box that peaks in the low 30s, number wise on a term lab would probably sound like shit on daily music, right? Also, if you're shooting for a flat frequency response, a ported box is the wrong enclosure, right? They are really peaky from one tone to the next.
  5. But I could be wrong on this one... My belief is that ported boxes should be tuned depending on the types of music you listen to, as well as the Frequency response of the woofer. I generally understand the rule of thumb to be 30-33 Hertz for rap, 34-37 Hertz for daily listening of all types of music, and 39+ for rock When I suggested that someone tune their box 35-37 Hertz because they listen to all types of music, I got this little novel back. There are some really good points in his novel, but I'm just wondering who is mixed up, for the purpose of learning, not for argument. I was thinking ported boxes aren't really great for frequency response anyway, they peak at one frequency and slowly get less loud the further away from that frequency they are. Other boxes, such as 4th order bandpass, bandpass, and T-lines have a broader Frequency response, right? They are more musical boxes because of this...... I just wanna know if I'm off base, because I'm kinda confused now.
  6. I'm down for a smart car! Haha, give me 20 sq feet of sound deadener, 10 ft of 4 gauge positive, 10 feet negative, a DAT 1000.1, a couple half size power master batteries, a dc level 4 12 a few 150 amp fuses, and half a sheet of MDF and I'll bass race in the 49.9 class all damn day!
  7. I cleared my lights and bought orange bulbs for them. I had a cop pull me over for tint, and write me up for the front license plate after looking at the front end, he didn't say anything about the bulbs. I'm going to change the bulbs out for chrome bulbs that light up amber though.
  8. From what I see in your diagram, he's running 4+ runs of 1/0 to the amps themselves from the battery bank. (2 each to the sub amps, and however many he has to the highs amps.) The setup itself is inefficient because the battery bank cant get the power as fast as the batteries are expending it. He can bang 1500-2000 watts all day on that setup, but he may be able to produce between 6 and 8k for a short time, until either the battery bank drops too low or something blows. He can run as many runs of 1/0 as he wants to the front, but if he's not hooking the 1/0 up to alternators, he's no better off. In theory, grounds are where you make your power... They are more important than power wire. <Ground is where the amp pulls amperage> and power wire is where the amp gets its voltage from. So hopefully he has those battery banks grounded out really well.... So he can bang away for short periods of time. EDIT: Yeah, he needs to find a better grounding solution. He'll probably toast that single 1/0 ground going to the front faster than anything. He should keep that there, as well as grounding the bank itself to the chassis, and the big 3 on the front of course. He should have a ground per battery directly to the chassis and the 1/0 ground from the front to the back.
  9. A big ass bottle of patron, anything after that won't matter cuz you wont remember it.
  10. It could be a dietary thing. Ever skipped a meal or something and you get really, really grumpy or aggravated about something. It for sure is strange at that age, but something I would definitely look into, just a little more. Could be blood sugar levels... http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/blood-s.htm Though the 'suspected causes' may be a little off, if the emotional symptoms that are significant.
  11. If you listen to a little bit of everything, 37 hertz is a good starting point. Mostly Rap 35 Hertz, Mostly Rock 40-42 Hertz.
  12. With the proper power, enclosure, electrical, etc 18s, 15s, and 12s can all be just a 'punchy' as any other smaller woofer. You're referring to something that the uneducated, almost, enthusiast believes is true. KingSUV's/ Melissa's F-250, when he has the bandpass box in, is a prime example of this... Ever heard the double bass of rock music out of 2 18's off ~7k.... It is the shit.
  13. LOL... Thats the shit! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer..._type=&aq=f
  14. Never really watch Mtv... Plus I don't have a TV... I live in a dorm.
  15. I came across this sappy Eminem song, and I liked it.... If you haven't heard its pretty good... It Gave me chills. Watch the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHv9eL8GhbE
  16. Bummer that almost all the tweeters on that site are 8 ohm tweeters... Go with Silk Dome tweeters: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=264-841 You would be better off spending more money on some quality tweeters.... Seleniums are nice. Tweeters are really what make the difference between loud highs, muddy highs, or ear piercing highs. I like Silk dome because they sound pretty smooth, in comparison to say Titanium dome tweeters...
  17. Definitely not (only) alcohol.... The store clerks were retarded.... Honestly lol.
  18. Lookin good! I like the way you go about building the whole system. The way everything is set up, its pretty, but not blingin so to speak with all kinds of LEDs, mirrors, and plexi. Its just a clean and [Really] functional setup. Its inspired me. Must be a bitch to have to go through all the trouble for some 'spray adhesive' between all the cleanup and everything involved with using the spray gun.
  19. That estimate made no sense.... You shouldn't have to pay a dime out of your pocket.... Don't let them tell you no.
